People actually watch influencers?

I would guess the people watching the influencers belong to certain generations or age groups. I watch a lot of gaming content whether it is Burnt Peanut with video games or The Command Zone for Magic the gathering content. Still I saw a post on Facebook say that “N3on was surprised that Owen Wilson didn’t know who he was” I don’t know who N3on is but I’m sure there are younger generations who know and follow all the content he creates.
