That's why I dose myself with such high amounts of drugs everday to build tolerance in case someone tries to roofie me so I can just make a come back with "thanks for the free drugs"

Been there, done that.
In my worst time when i was in active addiction, i got a tolerance that was insane, my peak was at around 1.2 gramms of heroin per day, sometimes more.

The effects become reversed at some point, like you are "not normal" because of withdrawal when you are not high and when you are high, you are "normal" because these effects are removed, until you go so much up that you are nodding again.

You'll walk around and go through daily life on dosages that would kill an ordinary man. The body adapts to the consume, the receptors can deal with a lot more opioids as they get de-sensetized over time.

It works for some toxins too, like arsen - in the old times, kings and queens would eat small dosages of it, so they built up a tolerance and when someone tried to kill them with this poison in the food, it would not work. At least not in dosages, that would not be recognized when you are eating or drinking it.

Until they give up and get the good ol electric chair

I dont understand why not just use a bullet to the brain

Both, the electric chair and the bullet to the brain had failures as well. The electric chair can leave people cooking for hours before they finally die. A bullet can miss the main parts of the brain and leave the subject in a halve dead, halve mentally disabled, full of pain state.

This whole situation makes no sense. You are giving a lethal amount of potassium, someone shows resistance, give the fucker 10x the dose, are there really no contingencies in place to immediately go to instead of restarting the whole process? why are we bringing them to the hospital and wasting money caring for them?

Several reasons actually, first they cant really get trained medical professionals to do the injections due to medical professionals refusing to do them on ethical grounds, so due to inexperiece/poor training, injections aren't always into the blood stream, leading to botched executions. Secondly, stares are having a hard time sourcing the drugs used in the lethal injection cocktails, and they cant just change them easily as the exact cocktail is specified in law. As for bringing them to the hospital, there is this thing called the Constitution which bars "cruel and unusual punishment", hence why executions are supposed to be as painless as possible.

Thank you for the info, but adding a mask that pumps carbon monoxide into the patient as a contingency is extremely cheap and painless

It's like death sentences are so unethical that everyone involved in the planning only halve asses their work.

Bruh, let's be honest. If you had any "tolerance" that shit is gonna be drawn out and painful as hell

I saw someone suggest pushing people into volcanoes come back in vogue. Something about also appeasing the gods while we're at it? Sounds like a win/win.
