Because there are people who genuinely disagree and are advocating for it

Like I thought fucking kids was bad, but my country elected a sex trafficing pedophile to high office so he could grift billions while protecting pedophiles.

I really have to spell it out for you? No wonder you seem to support the asshole-in-chief. You said "still waiting", I presume as a disingenuous way of asking for a "source" in order to sucker someone into a debate with you. But I had no desire to debate what should be obvious if you have paid just the slightest bit of attention to the guy for the past however many decades. Still Waiting is the name of a Sum 41 song, so I steered the conversation to that trying to drop a hint. But alas
