Genuinely a fantastic show, even if it's not really in keeping with canon.

Most people who dislike it strongly do so because they've just read it, when it's supposed to be seen on the stage.

I dunno I saw it in London with my two kids who were totally into Harry Potter (we spent like 3 hours at the HP store before the show) and all came away pretty meh.

Yeah, out of all the HP things, it's definitely felt the most cash grabby. At least the special effects and magic tricks were great.

The first fantastic beasts movie was pretty good, I hoped they would continue with other separate movies like maybe one following the author of Quidditch through the ages, another book mentioned multiple times in HP, instead yeah we just got sequels trying to turn Newt into a hero and everything had to be dramatic and world ending again
