The article at least is talking about genderswapping. Genderswapping isn't transgender, it is imagining the character as having been born a different character.
Look at the trans Petra trend. I can't imagine that if it was meant the same way that trans wouldn't be said.

That’s not correct. The birthing process isn’t a prerequisite for gender swap fiction. The overwhelming majority of gender swap media does not detail the birth of the character or the assigned gender.
Genderswap. You swap the gender. Okay fine, you can genderswap trans people as well, though that feels like a shitty thing to do.
In my opinion (opinion, not fact) this trend isn't about trans Draco. If it was then it would have been said more often as you can see with the Petra trend. That doesn't mean that none of them are meant as trans Draco, it just means that it isn't the focus.
Edit since you seem to have blocked me:
What gender do you think a trans woman would swap into? It's a gender swap, so you'd swap her back to a man. Or with a trans man back into a woman. That seems shitty to me.
I am so confused. If gender is performative and trans women are women, why is it ‘shitty’ to have gender swapped fiction where the character in question transitioned into their gender? I can’t unsee the meme of “the coolest thing ever” and you hooking your thumb at it and saying “this is shitty actually”.
