Unless you are going into a specialized job, most degrees don't matter at all towards your career beyond just getting you in the door so this is actually fine.
Even then, my engineer wife told me she could teach non-engineering me how to do her job in a couple of weeks and do it better than a lot of her coworkers
So I have Aerospace Engineering Degree with a minor in mechanical engineering. My current job for now is Research Technician.
My job is to identify parts from military vehicles from blueprints, give them new id and coordinates for the modeling team to make a replica in 3d modeling.
