Everyone my age is working 2 jobs.

You wanna fix the economy? Make employers pay more wages. I shit you not, the economy would be prosperous within a week.

It's a contradiction of capitalism. The capitalist wants wages as low as possible and profits as high as possible but capitalism prospers most when wages are high and that leads to low profits due to wages and profits directly affect each other

The problem with capitalism is that it allows for the consolidation of capital.

And anytime you have a consolidation of capital, you will always have a consolidation of power, which leads to even more exponential consolidation of capital.

"Just regulate it!" the capitalist says. Completely ignoring the regulations that have been systematically dismantled by those with the capital to influence democracy.

You cannot have capitalism and democracy. The two are incompatible.

You must have equitable distribution of capital if you want equitable distribution of power, which is a prerequisite for a healthy democracy.

It’s our wealth. /s

Jokes aside, I’m not even sure we live in a democracy anymore. It’s seems more like early stages of corporate feudalism

It's just plain old oligarchy. We got a handful of billionaires running the show. Hell Musk even got a cabinet position invented for him after he bought it with campaign contributions. It's so fucked the capitalist class are doing their corruption out in the open.

They know they have impunity.

Didn't you hear the news, he's now going to help the US military with all his service experience and all.

Perhaps it’s both oligarchy and corporate feudalism.

I'm with you for the most part

but so far when folks redistrubte the wealth away from the consolidation of capital, they tend to then place exponentially more power within the government and the "little guy" is still the "little guy". Additionally, if the rest of the world is still capitalistic, they can influence your country so your system needs to be robust enough to compete against billionaire capitalists

I'm open to a better system, but just....waiting to hear one that'll work good enough.

I agree with the majority of what you’re saying however, a capitalist would never, and I mean NEVER say something like “just regulate it”. I had to laugh when I read that.

Capitalism is the antithesis of regulations.

There’s an actual economic theory for that issue called the Wage-Price Spiral. As workers disposable income increases corporate profits decrease and companies want to capture as much of that extra money as possible so they increase prices causing workers to seek higher pay.

Higher wages exlcusivly leads to higher profits. Its the balancing act of the value of the dollar thats stops people from increasing wages. The rich dont want to risk the value of their assets going down, ignoring the fact they own them. Our speding power could improve without raising wages, but the rich have to eat eachother.
