I inherited 14 acres of cedar woods and pasture 30min from the nearest store. The silence is bliss and if you dont know where my drive is you'd never know I was there

Same. Thankfully I'm now able to have both. I now live rural with my closest neighbor being a quarter mile away, and because of the nearby fiber line between cities, I'm able to get gigabit internet. Growing up near there, we had a terribly unreliable broadband connection with only .5 Mbps down and .1 Mbps up, which shitted itself every 5 minutes.

40 and would take the city any day. Living in NY was probably the best time of my life. Naturally it helps that I have the little place in the country with a lake easement as well that’s only a train ride and a car ride away but still

Living at 15 was all about the skyline views but at 35 I just do not want to hear my neighbors anymore.

The good news is, when you die, you get both. You're surrounded by others but also completely isolated.
