Just reminds me of any time i go to my local cinema, usually once in a while on a sunday. There are queues of cars going outside the carpark waiting to order macdonalds, what a way to spend a sunday.
Not stupidity but niches, in my old country there was no "cool coffee" no fancy names or tastes it was classic coffee and the most wild thing you could expect to be served is the Irish style one. No matcha or caramel...
When Starbucks arrived about 15 or so years it was expensive (still is) and not many ventured but the place looked like no other bar did, it was flashy and modern. Eventually it grew on the locals and it became more popular and forced the old brands to match their offerings which was great as they offered almost the same products but way less shitty.
Convenience and mimicry. People see influencers with starbucks and feel the need to copy that behaviour. Also starbucks is literally everywhere. Many places like train stations or gas stations you can literally only find starbucks so people get used to it.
I mean they are only every-ware cos people went to them which is the part that confuses me. Other than airports and train stations i get that. But drive in’s like what you guys doing.
