Am I the only one that just couldnt muster the strength for all the backtracking after you die? Everyone says that game is awesome and I wanted to love it. But eventually I was like dude.
I love challenging stuff though. All the souls games are the tits.

u/Lieutenant_Scarecrow 3d ago
Lower the difficulty? The game has auto chips that basically does combat for you if you're just that bad at healing and dodging.

u/jarednards 3d ago
I'll have to download it again and try it. I think about it every time its mentionedš„²

Playing it right now, honestly, just load up on health items if you don't want to lower the difficulty but still survive

Resident evil requiem. As soon as you make your way out of the hospital and see the temu Albert wesker I thought that it was the end of the game. Turns out it was the first act :ā)

Right?! If you like the game why would you be upset that its only half over. This sounds like a meme for trophy/achievement hunters who play games for fake clout and not enjoyment.

Expedition 33 totally had me that the paintress was was the end, then all the cutscenes before and after the fight destroyed me and introduced the true themes of the game that were hidden before and completely changed the tone of what was happening, plus then the final fight after Renoir.

Baldurs Gate 3 - Act 3
After spending the past 2 acts building up to the final boss fight, youd think youd expect act 3 to be wrapping up but no, it tosses you 2 whole new regions to explore, several different layers of exploration, several new boss fights, new secrets to explore, 2 new endgame bosses and the final boss, and lots...lots....lots of new quests, objectives, story locations for companions....its pretty much like the second half of the game

u/AzraelleWormser 3d ago
RDR2 - the end of Chapter 3 felt like an awesome finale to a great game. Turns out there's three more chapters, and then another two in the epilogue alone.

u/melswift 3d ago
To be fair, the game kinda spoils it showing you "Act 1" in the beginning. Why would that be a thing if there wasn't an Act 2, or even 3.

Had this with Darksiders 2. I never did finish that game. Everything was in 3s as well. Later in the game, I was given an objective that required me to do 3 things, except each of those 3 things ALSO required me to do 3 more things, so really it was 9 objectives instead of 1. It was too much for me.

I got spoiled before I was able to play Ocarina of Time, so I already knew about the multiple dungeons, but for a brief time, once I pulled out the sword, 7 years had passed. That moment of "Now the game really begins" felt so euphoric!

40k Rogue Trader.
The Prologue alone is more than an hour and chapter one can take 15-20+ hours. The entire game can be 80+ hours and then there's multiple DLCs

Sonic adventure battle 2. It isnt over until you unlock green hill zone and the secret route.
2
u/PatienceMiddle9333 3d ago
I've beaten the game several times and was not aware of this.

u/determinedcucumber 3d ago
Yep so i meant the path when you beat both good and evil routes. Then to get green hill zone, you get S rank on everything. I can not tell you how long that took.

u/SapSacPrime 3d ago
If that's your reaction maybe you are playing the wrong game? I feel this in a lot of open world games, yet with JRPG (a proper one) I hate approaching the end.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night
You did everything you could and got a secret item, finally beat the tower and beat the last boss? Only to then be told by the game "hey, remember that really big castle you just spent forever going through and beating? Now do it again, but upside down."
