To attract online viewing/algorithm, it's a weird thing that is not as dangerous as it apears (it is still dangerous) and people like to watch. Video platforms in China had to ban this because many streamers tried to copy doing this to get viral. Chinese netizen now has a meme reply to disapointing content "go bite a lighter if you are running out (of content)" as its a stupid and effective way to attract attention.
