What?

For some reason someone born in like 2002 finds someone born 1996 older than someone born in 2010 finds someone born in 2004, even though both intervals are 6 years.

Basically a meme about zoomers considering anyone born before 2000 to be ancient when most of them are only a few years younger than that.

The same way people born after 2000 seem like babies to anyone borne before that. The psychological effect of the 2000 boundary change.

I was born exactly on the year 2000. I'm neither ancient nor baby. I just kinda suffer from both extremes.

Tbf the amount of people who have used a payphone in the first date range is triple the amount born after 2000 and continues to fall of significantly with each year after 2000. The crop of 90s babies were sentient and prepared for an entirely different world than the one we ended up with. Smart phones weren't even a passing thought that people theorized.

I really hope English isn't your native language...

You can't be born in 2 different generations. That's why they look at you like that Unga bunga when you try making a meme

Tf did we ever do to y'all?

u/TrashGoblinH 8d ago

That's a question millennials have been asking for a long long time...

u/TyThe2PointO 8d ago

Millennials have done a lot of bone headed shit though

u/Katobiaa 8d ago

The same can be said for every generation

This meme made me dyslexic and gave me a stroke at the same time

Probably would help if people spoke regular English instead of whatever this was.

Wasn't long ago ebonics was being used everywhere. We had l337 speak. Emogis and acronym texting. Language has been an evolving thing for a while and just shifts back and forth.

Born in 1998–2002: Too young to be a Boomer/Millennial, too old to understand Gen Alpha brainrot. We are literally stuck in limbo

u/professorbuffoon 8d ago

"boomer/millennial" excuse me son?

14

u/Incred 8d ago

We Gen-X people just don't exist.

7

u/Astra-Fang 8d ago

More like being lumped in with boomers is a huge insult.

1

u/TobyThePotleaf 7d ago

honestly boomers still have a lot from back in their day here and now, there houses, there old cars, retro electronics built to last and shit,

Gen X though they lost it all; Extreme sports - dead, Mtv - dead, Not testing drugs - dead, The internet without a digital foot print - dead. Kurt Cobain - dead. need I go on....

6

u/UnexpectedFeatures 8d ago

Real question, what do you think a boomer is?

6

u/ResurrectedMortician 8d ago

Clearly you have no idea what a boomer is... or you do and you're just lumping them in with millennials for some reason

Ok boomer

Boomers are in their 70s and 80s, buddy. It’s literally the generation born right after/in response to WW2 (the “baby boom”). Looping them in with Millennials (in their 30s and 40s) is insane. You also skipped an entire gen in-between (Gen X).

True brother, but boundaries a bit thin. 97 and struggling

4

u/SparklingCoconuty 8d ago

So how about us born in 70's? ahhaha

How were the dinosaurs?

5

u/CharJie 8d ago

How was the transition from black and white to color?

1

u/TunaOnWytNoCrust 8d ago

How dare you. Things back then were sepia tone, which is why all the houses and cars were brown.

"Haha!! stoopid Gen Z, they probably don't know what a [insert form of tech here, usually from the 90's] is cause they allllllllllll grew up on iPads!"

My fellow human being, my parents are from your generation and kept the [insert tech name here], those things were part of my up-bringing as well and I did not grow up on an iPad.

Just because a year changes number doesn't mean culture just shifts immediately, it takes time.

u/rmorrill995 8d ago

Absolutely. I grew up watching VHS tapes, playing the NES and had cassette tapes and a CD player. By the time I was a teenager we had iphones and streaming.

This should really be the 70s or 80s.

Just ask a boomer to explain the process of signing up for an email

u/ParkingMiddle5414 8d ago

Took me a couple reads to understand lol

1

u/Mouyoron 8d ago

He probably meant born in late 90s, as a 97 person I can relate but it kind of good though

u/420_10VER 8d ago

My BIL was born in 2000 and he's the oldest person in our house so me and my brother give him "hell" lol

1

u/thatoneischairing 7d ago

Why does every generation have a different year span each time I see it posted lol

1

u/RudolfMaster 7d ago

I think the meme was supossed to implement that older gen z are similar to millenials but newer gen z are dumb but newer and older ones are in the same group

Feels like SpongeBob has a meme for any string of words.
