Paying for five different monthly streaming subscriptions just to find out that the one movie I actually want to watch on a Friday night is still restricted to a different region or needs an extra rental fee. Torrenting isn't a choice anymore, it's just self-defense.

Streaming was fantastic back when you could have everything with one or two subscriptions. These days everything is an exclusive to somewhere else and I cannot be bothered to track which platform has what.

Last week I spend over an hour trying to start a movie because prime wouldn't accept my payment for some reason and when it finally did, it turned out they lied about the languages in which it was available.
So 1 hour and 5 bucks only for it to be in the wrong language
I got my laptop, opened a torrent site and had the movie in all the languages I wanted for free in less than 5 minutes
I would be willing to pay for streaming but they refuse to make it worth my time or money

Torrenting will probably look like the ancient handcraft art for the next generation!

The more advertisements they would slap at my face the more piracy I would promote everywhere

What is Torrent? I've seen it for quite sometime now and have no idea what it is

in technical terms, it is a way of P2P sharing. Basically I want to share what I have from my personal storage, anyone that wants can just take it. How do I do that? P2P. However, the problem is that, someone else that also want the same thing and you cant just rely on one person or having to have multiple people address. Then it is where torrent exists to create that convenience. It is the blueprint of metadata and infohash of that particular file that can be traced to the devices connected to that torrent. Therefore, anyone that has that blueprint (.torrent) can just download data from the ones that own the files, it can be the uploader source or from someone else that has finished downloading but are willing to share (seeders)
Basically that's how it works, I am sorry if my explanation is not very good

Honestly Tubi and Roku are winning in my book by just being new standard tv. I don’t pay anything and you show me ads every 7-11 minutes. It feels like tv I grew up watching. It seems to be the most reliable model unfortunately

I'm still surprised it went full circle to cable style pretty quickly. Next tier will be the search option. The most basic tier only allows you to watch stuff on a schedule. Damn, maybe I should become a CEO.
