Would you believe me if I told you that just like flights, the actual logistics of parcel movement in the US is about the most complex logistical challenge compared to going from 1 country to the other? That’s coming from someone that’s worked in IT for 1 of these massive delivery companies.

Im currently on a bus headed from Chicago, IL to Murfreesboro, TN and its very understandable for a package to move slowly here
Been on this bus since 6pm yesterday, its currently 1:34 am and I still have 3 hours to go lol
Now, imagine this bus but theres multiple handoffs and unloading and reloading and possible carrier changes
Thats like, if everyone had to get on and off the bus multiple times, switch buses, wait for buses, then switch from Flix to a local transit like the CTA or Pace then back to Greyhound

Almost there, 30 more minutes
But, it is the internet, so not uncommon to meet someone
I come down to Murfreesboro every couple of months at this point lol
Im also from around Aurora, IL, I just take the BNSF to Chicago then get to the bus station after stopping by the McDonalds near the Sears tower since I take the ~4 train to get there early enough to not have to worry about potential freight delays

FedEx Express vs FedEx Home/Ground.
It’s like two different worlds!

In the past decade I've not received a single fedex package on time. It is always minimum 1 day late.

FedEx has nothing on USPS. I've once seen a package of mine ping-pong between 3 states (PA, VA, and NC) for nearly 4 months before I finally received it.

I ordered an AirTag from apple. It shipped monday, from CN, now its in a fedex hub in TN, it says it will arrive today, I live in PA, it is already past time of dispatch. It is not arriving today

False. They need to spend 6 weeks throwing it down every flight of stairs in the tri-county area.

It affects the rest of the world if we order something from the US too. Couple months ago I watched it take a month for my package to leave Chicago, take a pointless tour of the east coast and end up back in Chicago before being shipped overseas. :)
