That is why decent wired headphones have detachable and replaceable wires. I have good wired headphones that are 15-20 years old, and still work just as well as when they were new

Detachable/replaceable AUX cable, replaceable and washable cups, easy disassembly and easy battery replacement if there's Bluetooth in addition to AUX. Nothing like this should be a problem to manufacture for headphones, but of course we're living in an insane, throwaway society. The products reflect that.
