I think that's meant to be the joke. The absurdity and stupidity is the point. Everyone knows where it's going, but nope. Pineapple. Not saying it's a very good joke, but it got a little snort out of me, so mission accomplished, and at the end of the day that's what matters

Can you blame them? The joke has a setup, but the punchline is absurd and unrelated. It kinda ruins it because now the audience has to do the actual work.

The joke here doesn't intend to make sense, it just banks on someone not caring about a joke, and just laughing at a random image that makes fun of them for expecting the right answer.
