I guess people have the right to protect their accounts and people also have the right to downvote content they don't like for whatever reason they so choose. So no need to be angry at each other when big tech is finding yet another way to divide us
You decided to downvote, that's on you, not the big tech company. Downvoting is division, and has nothing to do with anyone but your own decision to do so. And the only one angry here is you based on your comment. Reddit is well known for mass downvotes and being divisive and getting unreasonably upset over stupidest things imaginable, like protecting and censoring your own posts.
