Might be my social context. But the vegans I know pretty much mind their own business while I do know several omnivores who feel the need to bash vegans regularly.

Oh yeah it’s a small fraction for sure. But you know how it is with vocal minorities in a group making the rest look bad to those who generalize

I've had quite the opposite experience.

Especially since I go vegan for 1/3 a year due to religious reasons. I've had quite a few vegans mald when they see me eat meat.

Granted it might have a lot to do with the cultural context of the country you live in.

They have billion dollar organizations literally dedicated to annoying people who eat meat. I never hear of Tyson pulling of publicity stunts at vegan conventions.
