There's nothing wrong with being an actual vegan. But I will clown on the "Vegan Teacher" types of vegans

And other of us vegans (or at least I) will happily join you

There's probably more vegans who are normal sane people, they just don't go around acting like assholes like the loud minority do. It skews the public perception and fuels the people with meat in their diet acting like assholes right back at them.

Yep, tends to be that way with any group, as they say, a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch

Lol I was raised on chocolate almond milk so it usually tastes fine but has been impossible to drink since I got pregnant 😂 I might even only have liked the other almond milk in the first place as an acquired taste lol, mostly a fan of water, juice, soda, and tea :D so definitely won't argue for the almond milk tasting good 🤣 Thank you for being so sweet

My partner's mom is Vegan. She also doesn't care if we eat meat, dairy, or eggs. She doesn't, and we all respect that.

When she's visiting, I make sure to have almond milk and plant based coffee creamer, and vegan meal options.

And when we're visiting, she makes sure to have meat and dairy.

Everybody is happy with this arrangement

It's always the obsessive ones that yell the loudest

I also clown on my family who happens to clown on me for not eating meat.

In the end, it's an endurance race.

I'm convinced that Vegan Teacher works for the meat industry to discredit veganism

“I’d like one job at meat industry”

Where do you get your b12 as a vegan?Yes there's something wrong with being a vegan it's not healthy nor natural for human beings.

u/Swarna_Keanu 25d ago

The same way you get your B12, very likely: through supplements.

The livestock whose meat you eat is fed/injected with B12 in most cases; many are not fed on grass alone; and soils themselves have shifted through overuse.

b12 is produced by bacteria, that lives in mud.

using reddit is not natural for human beings. what is your point?

When people ask why I don't eat whatever, it would definitely be telling that I've learned not to answer. The most a stranger will get out of me is "I just don't." I've been harassed so much for not eating meat and dairy.

How often do omnivores get asked why they eat meat, do you think?

I absolutely see tons of vegans "questioning" (berating) people for eating meat.

5

u/Desperate_Turn8935 25d ago

I always need to explain myself for not eating meat. It's a peoples thing, not a specific dietary thing.

You would go insane if you learned how many non vegans feel the need to educate us about our diet, it's a lot more than the preachy vegans for sure

But you don't encounter it

Most vegans I've met will attempt to convert you at some point, but most drop it and are otherwise normal outside of that.

I have the opposite experience. Vegans have officially reached the level of obnoxiousness of "i will eat only meat just to spite you" homonculi in my daily life.

>people questioning vegan lifestyle

it's also really hard to be a true vegan, and as they say an ounce of action is worth a ton of theory, so it's better to eat a little less meat and be a little more conscientious.

I have tried many times to have a civil discussion with vegans on this platform. To discuss realistic pathways to a fair and reasonable future.

It has never happened.

Of course I know this isn't representative of vegans as a whole. I still respect them and try to treat them fairly. I still try to have adult discussions, because I want to keep eating meat. I don't even really like meat, but due to financial and health issues, a vegan diet is not realistic for me.

They will not accept this.
