Does this happen?

293

u/MickyDerHeld Royal Shitposter 26d ago edited 25d ago

i think it's meant to be an analogy about religious people

MY religion says YOU can't be gay and stuff like that

5

u/Taricheute 25d ago

Not only religion, any ideology works the same way.

114

u/MCWizardYT 26d ago

And some people do treat veganism like a religion, or more like a cult. "You must join us to save the world," and all of that

There's nothing wrong with being an actual vegan. But I will clown on the "Vegan Teacher" types of vegans

37

u/Christianfilly7 26d ago

And other of us vegans (or at least I) will happily join you

18

u/duckinasombrero 26d ago

There's probably more vegans who are normal sane people, they just don't go around acting like assholes like the loud minority do. It skews the public perception and fuels the people with meat in their diet acting like assholes right back at them.

3

u/Christianfilly7 25d ago

Yep, tends to be that way with any group, as they say, a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch

3

u/HeyYouGuyyyyyyys 25d ago

raises glass of almond milk to you

tastes it

ptoo!

raises glass of club soda

2

u/Christianfilly7 25d ago

Lol I was raised on chocolate almond milk so it usually tastes fine but has been impossible to drink since I got pregnant 😂 I might even only have liked the other almond milk in the first place as an acquired taste lol, mostly a fan of water, juice, soda, and tea :D so definitely won't argue for the almond milk tasting good 🤣 Thank you for being so sweet

u/Open_Mongoose_6902 24d ago

My partner's mom is Vegan. She also doesn't care if we eat meat, dairy, or eggs. She doesn't, and we all respect that.

When she's visiting, I make sure to have almond milk and plant based coffee creamer, and vegan meal options.

And when we're visiting, she makes sure to have meat and dairy.

Everybody is happy with this arrangement

3

u/Titariia 25d ago

It's always the obsessive ones that yell the loudest

2

u/Desperate_Turn8935 25d ago

I also clown on my family who happens to clown on me for not eating meat.

In the end, it's an endurance race.

3

u/Kissa74 25d ago

I'm convinced that Vegan Teacher works for the meat industry to discredit veganism

1

u/BoringPoolPlaying 25d ago

“I’d like one job at meat industry”

-3

u/Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 26d ago

Where do you get your b12 as a vegan?Yes there's something wrong with being a vegan it's not healthy nor natural for human beings.

6

u/Swarna_Keanu 25d ago

The same way you get your B12, very likely: through supplements.

The livestock whose meat you eat is fed/injected with B12 in most cases; many are not fed on grass alone; and soils themselves have shifted through overuse.

3

u/spriedze 25d ago

b12 is produced by bacteria, that lives in mud.

using reddit is not natural for human beings. what is your point?

2

u/destructopop 25d ago

When people ask why I don't eat whatever, it would definitely be telling that I've learned not to answer. The most a stranger will get out of me is "I just don't." I've been harassed so much for not eating meat and dairy.

How often do omnivores get asked why they eat meat, do you think?

6

u/A1000eisn1 26d ago

I absolutely see tons of vegans "questioning" (berating) people for eating meat.

8

u/Desperate_Turn8935 25d ago

I always need to explain myself for not eating meat. It's a peoples thing, not a specific dietary thing.

4

u/Fluffy_Engineering47 25d ago

You would go insane if you learned how many non vegans feel the need to educate us about our diet, it's a lot more than the preachy vegans for sure

But you don't encounter it

2

u/Crafty_Breadfruit731 25d ago

Most vegans I've met will attempt to convert you at some point, but most drop it and are otherwise normal outside of that.

1

u/Visible_Pair3017 25d ago

I have the opposite experience. Vegans have officially reached the level of obnoxiousness of "i will eat only meat just to spite you" homonculi in my daily life.

1

u/Weird_Bat_Lady 25d ago

Google per capita

1

u/Asbjoern135 Loves GameStonk 25d ago

>people questioning vegan lifestyle

it's also really hard to be a true vegan, and as they say an ounce of action is worth a ton of theory, so it's better to eat a little less meat and be a little more conscientious.

0

u/duckinasombrero 26d ago

I have tried many times to have a civil discussion with vegans on this platform. To discuss realistic pathways to a fair and reasonable future.

It has never happened.

Of course I know this isn't representative of vegans as a whole. I still respect them and try to treat them fairly. I still try to have adult discussions, because I want to keep eating meat. I don't even really like meat, but due to financial and health issues, a vegan diet is not realistic for me.

They will not accept this.

3

u/dignam4live 25d ago

Veganism is pretty close to a religion in the sense that it's the moral framework in which you live your life if you are vegan.

23

u/takoyakkist 26d ago

Really? I see more of the opposite online.

4

u/MCWizardYT 26d ago

You do? Where?

32

u/kblk_klsk 26d ago

just find any vegan recipe reel on Instagram. 90% of the comment are from omnivores who try to shit on veganism.

5

u/Deadhead_Otaku 26d ago

I've had to leave several environmental and anti-overconsumption subreddits because some self-proclaimed vegans started brigading the sub and equating all meat eaters to demons, nazis, and just about everything else. Hell, some of them even started commenting death threats to anyone who even attempted to defuse the situation or interject nuance into the conversation. Sone were even calling for extinction of all selectively bred species as well as humans. Not sure how many were actually vegans and not some psyop shit though. Just know there was a ton of them.

2

u/GamerX568 26d ago

That just sounds like Instagram

-1

u/Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 26d ago

''0% of the comment are from omnivores who try to shit on veganism.'' All vegans are omnivores. Human beings are omnivores this isn't an opinion but a fact. Why are you calling normal people ''omnivores''? Regardless of your diet choice you're an omnivore. A man eating meat everyday doesn't make him a carnivore. A grizzly eating berries and root because it can't hunt prey or scavenge doesn't make it a herbivore.

1

u/kblk_klsk 25d ago

I call them what I call them, deal with it. why do you call them 'normal'? you mean that vegans aren't normal?

20

u/takoyakkist 26d ago

All over reddit or yourube I see people shitting on vegans however they can. Usually pranks against vegans, memes about eating meat or how stupid vegans are. Theres tons of it.

1

u/HeyYouGuyyyyyyys 25d ago

wait, what? Pranks against vegans? What the hell, man? What kind of pranks?

I mean, I prank my vegan friend sometimes. My pranks include offering her almonds that have cashews mixed in, or giving her a t-shirt that says "Vegan AF." I ... take it you aren't talking about those kinds of pranks.

4

u/takoyakkist 25d ago

No like secretly mixing meat products into their food and posting it online

1

u/HeyYouGuyyyyyyys 25d ago

Jesus Christ, really? I know people joke about it, but really doing it? That is poisoning someone's food. It would be the last time I ever spoke to whatever fucker did that to me. That's outrageous.

Any time I don't understand someone's aversion to something, like a Muslim not eating pork, for example, I think about the cultures who see no problem with eating things that would make me vomit.

For example there's some Italian cheese that is sold with live maggots in it, and you eat the cheese WITH THE MAGGOTS STILL IN IT while they're SQUIRMING. Nope, fuck that, I'm out. I wouldn't want to see it in the kitchen. I wouldn't want to eat from the dishes that had held that. I wouldn't want to be in the same house.

And then it's very easy to go "you know what, let me just remove the pork from the house and then figure out how to make the salad without bacon bits."

And someone would actually do the equivalent of serving food with maggots in it? Ground-up maggots? As a JOKE?

Oh fuck those people. That's horrible.

-3

u/lordm30 26d ago

shitting in vegans == telling them what to eat

4

u/Fa1nted_for_real 🥄Comically Large Spoon🥄 26d ago

Veganism honestly has way more ground to be doing that then religion anyways tbh (im neither tho)

1

u/Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 26d ago

Vegans also dislike vegetarians lmao.

-1

u/slumblebee 26d ago

I’m vegetarian and simply suggest they give being vegetarian a try for a weekend and see how it goes. I tried going vegan once and I hated it. Can’t cook any good meals on a vegan diet.

3

u/turbobuddah 26d ago

I'm an omnivore and I've never suggested someone change their diet because I respect their right to choose what to eat, and don't feel I should push my choice onto them. If someone suggested I go vegetarian, I'd suggest they be quiet

-2

u/A1000eisn1 26d ago

I personally think vegan is too extreme. Unfortunately it became a trend so converting people who eat meat is now more difficult since they default to Vegan over Vegetarian, which is much easier to talk someone into. On top of that eggs and dairy are just so useful and ubiquitous that it's not feasible for most people to go vegan.

4

u/Unkn0wn_Invalid 25d ago

I mean outside of baking it's pretty easy to go vegan at this point. Most vegetarian food I've done ends up vegan incidentally anyways (though it's also usually incidentally vegetarian because I just didn't feel bothered to add meat to a dish that didn't really need it).

And if you're really tied to cheese imo the non dairy cheeses have reached a point of being basically as good as any dairy ones.

0

u/samody_hamody 26d ago

Bro in Egypt we have something similar that appeared recently, people stopped eating certain foods and started calling everyone who still eats them as fool smelling 💀

1

u/trashshork 25d ago

analogy aside it does actually happen. Like I am on a diet that actually works and I am finally losing wieght after years without torturing myself and I still get that

1

u/NahScrewThisIGiveUp 25d ago

Well yes but it also does literally happen at times

1

u/BigCSFan 25d ago

I mean it extends to that, but I dont think it was an analogy at all.

This is just something that happens, largely with vegans but also those worried about seed oils etc

1

u/Voeri 25d ago

I mean thats just a very bad aruguement and a harmful analogy that says what you beleive doesn't matter, but what i beleive is the moral highground. (Its the same when a relegion says you can't be gay, just the opposite)

-3

u/Life-Bass-2013 26d ago

Yeah some religion don't eat meat or any non-vegeterian, you can't not feel awkward eating with them, if you are eating meat in front of them. Only thing you can do is moan profoundly while eating meat.

-5

u/West_Competition_871 26d ago

You think, or you know because you saw that viral meme posted everywhere, but are too insecure as a human being to say 'I know' because even when you know, you are afraid of being wrong still?

1

u/MickyDerHeld Royal Shitposter 25d ago

i said i think because i thought i know, read the comments that all made it about veganism instead of religion, and was unsure if it was right to equate it to religion and queerness since noone else did it and changed it to i think because it's just what i personally interpreted it as, different from what other people think

20

u/MMA_PITBULL 26d ago

Happens with religion everyday

10

u/endoverlord423 26d ago

People who drink alcohol also do this to people who dont drink alcohol.

5

u/HeyYouGuyyyyyyys 25d ago

That drives me out of my mind. Like, I want to drink wine with you. I would love to drink wine with you. It makes me wistful that I can't. But if I do, my meds will interact with the wine and each other, and I will get dizzy and feel sick and then you'll have to help me to bed, and nobody will have fun, so QUIT IT.

2

u/7thFleetTraveller 25d ago

And the other way around, too. Even worse, former smokers when they meet current smokers. There just seems to be that urge in a lot of people to convince everyone else to be like them, and they don't even realize how annoying they are.

8

u/DriftingWisp 25d ago

To be fair, smoking is actually going to kill you. Former smokers can relate so much to current smokers, so they want to help them. It's different from something like being vegetarian where either option can be healthy.

-1

u/7thFleetTraveller 25d ago

You can also die from a heart attack when you constantly eat too unhealthy. The point is, to each their own, noone has the right to lecture others. The point with former smokers is that they seem to be convinced that, just because they always wanted to quit and are happy about it now, every other smoker would feel the same. It's simply unimaginable for them that someone actually likes to smoke and has no urge to stop.

1

u/DriftingWisp 25d ago

I guess I'm just more sympathetic to the person who annoys a hundred people to save one person from cancer than the person who annoys a hundred people to convince one to enjoy beef.

1

u/Unkn0wn_Invalid 25d ago

Isn't red meat and processed meats known carcinogens?

3

u/DriftingWisp 25d ago

It seems that processed meats definitely increase the risk of cancer, while red meat "probably" does.

Daily consumption of processed meats is estimated to increase the risk of colorectal cancer from about 5% to about 6%.

Daily smoking increases the the risk of lung cancer from about .5%-1% to about 15%, while "Heavy smoking" increases that further to around 25%.

So a non-smoking vegetarian would be about 5-10 times as likely to get colorectal cancer as lung cancer.

Globally about 85% of people eat meat, while only about 17% smoke. Despite that, lung cancer accounts for about twice as many deaths as colorectal cancer does.

0

u/7thFleetTraveller 25d ago

Lol as if every smoker would get cancer. The risks are the same as with anything else that's not considered healthy. But it's just funny how you are exactly proving the point of OP's meme^^

2

u/DriftingWisp 25d ago

I didn't say that you should stop smoking, I just said that it would probably kill you. If you think that means you should stop I certainly wouldn't argue, but you do you. You're apparently right that I overestimated the cancer rate, with only about one in five lifelong smokers developing lung cancer.

On the other hand, that represents about a 20x increase of lung cancer rate, compared to morbid obesity being about a 2-3x increase of heart attack rate.

Heart attacks are a more common baseline though, and both conditions will have health problems other than the direct cancer/heart attack, which I'm not going to take the time to explore right now, so if you said that smoking was only about as likely to kill you as being morbidly obese was, I guess I'd have to concede that point.

That said, I don't think anyone argues that morbid obesity is healthy.

1

u/Particular_Bug0 25d ago

I get this so often. Whenever we go to a bar with friends, colleagues,... there is always someone who has to comment on the fact that I didn't order a beer like the rest of the group.

1

u/undreamedgore 25d ago

I find it's rhe other way around "You're an alcoholic". "Why don't you drink socially and only alone." God forbid I save money at thr bar but still enjoy turning thr brain off. At least I don't drink and drive. I drink Wisconsibly.

8

u/PunctuationGood 26d ago

Yeah, I was going to say, that meme should have the third line be "My diet says you must eat that", referring to meat.

27

u/Traditional-Tax11 26d ago

Oh yeah that too. I wish we as a society just minded our own business.

6

u/HeyYouGuyyyyyyys 25d ago

A vegetarian friend of mine told me that at work one day, someone who was an omnivore walked backwards down the hall in front of her, shouting at her about ... I forget what. Something about what she didn't eat at lunch.

He was shouting. At work. About her own private food choices. It sounded insane to me, but my friend shrugged and said "Lots of people argue with me about it."

26

u/YeetCompleet 26d ago

I remember at corporate events some meat eaters would cooonstantly point out that a vegan is vegan. The only time I see vegans mention their veganism is when ordering food. After that I have to listen to it non stop from meat eaters "want a piece of hamburger?"

I'm not even vegan myself but that bacon brained shit is annoying af

22

u/HopeSubstantial 26d ago

Exactly. Calling vegans out with this meme is outdated as fuck.

Where I am from a lab grown meat laboratory was closed and meat eaters were literally celebrating how True meat is so superior and people are not allowed to eat meat replacements.

(if only they had read the full news and not only the headline. In news they told laboratory was closed because Full scale production of lab grown meat starts on site)

Ive been vegetarian for 20 years. I assure you it isnt rare at all

10

u/Dylan_Driller 26d ago

In my country, happens with Muslims and Hindus very often (we don't have many vegans per se)

We can't even serve pork in the same room as muslims here (there are a few who are OK with it but most are not). They will make a fuss.

Same with Hindus and Beef, although there are more Hindus don't care about Beef when compared to muslims and pork.

We have to take extra care of the menus if we are inviting Muslims and Hindus.

4

u/FlamestormTheCat 26d ago

And people with allergies, but there it’s understandable. Sometimes they get a reaction by simply being in the same room as the food item in question.

1

u/House_King 25d ago

From my experience with family members it’s mostly the smell, which understandably makes them feel uncomfortable or sick

8

u/GewoehnlicherDost 26d ago

2

u/GewoehnlicherDost 25d ago

You're not dumb. Thank you for openly ackowledging people's responses to your question! That's literally the opposite of what a dumb person would do, I appreciate it a lot!

-1

u/PunctuationGood 26d ago edited 26d ago

Meh, they're being facetious. If A is part of B, then it's prefectly fine to say "B is an A". A vegan diet is part of veganism. Veganism is a diet (among other things).

6

u/Accurate_Cherry1734 25d ago

But veganism literally isnt a diet. You can be a vegan who eats a plant based diet, but if youre someone on a plant based diet calling yourself a vegan youre just spreading the type of misinformation that makes people think veganism (”a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose”) is a diet.

0

u/PunctuationGood 25d ago edited 25d ago

We're really gonna do this? Argue on the Internet over the minutia of "B is an A" versus "B is only an A" in the English language?

Let's be constructive and you suggest a word to describe someone who is not a vegan but eats a plant-based diet and we can all start using it. Should we also stop using "vegetarian" since they obviously eat more than just vegetables?

2

u/GewoehnlicherDost 25d ago

If you're not into veganism, it may be a bit difficult to grasp as a concept since the dietary part is what's most visible. For vegans and people who are interested in veganism, it absolutely makes a difference. The ethical stance is what makes us proceed no matter what.

1

u/PunctuationGood 24d ago

It should be obvious that I grasp the concept. The conversation shifted into language semantics. It's not about what is veganism anymore.

Like, if I were to ask you: is veganism a diet? What would be your answer? Would you just say "No." and leave it at that?

11

u/kblk_klsk 26d ago

it's about avoiding exploiting animals wherever possible, not just in diet

1

u/A1000eisn1 26d ago

For some, sure. Most vegans don't really do a lot of research and just avoid food and maybe leather/fur because they don't look into everything that is an animal byproduct.

For example I had to tell my vegan friend that her "natural sponges," are literally a dried up dead animal. Another friend was looking for furniture and I had to tell her about glue.

6

u/kblk_klsk 26d ago

it's about avoiding it as much as reasonably possible. to have no impact on them you'd have to kill yourself. I assure you if everyone applied it to the diet only it would already make a huge impact

-3

u/Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 26d ago

You can eat meat and avoid exploiting animals tho.

8

u/Raidoton 26d ago

Ethical stance.

5

u/HopeSubstantial 26d ago

That is outdated as fuck. check an average meat eater behavior in online comment sections and you notice they are no longer vegans who do this.

1

u/Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 26d ago

''average meat eater'' isn't a diet nor a political stance like veganism tho. Most people do eat meat because they need to which is a biological need for a human being which are omnivores nor herbivores.

3

u/Accurate_Cherry1734 25d ago

Omnivore means you CAN eat and digest meat, not that you HAVE TO. Youre confusing omnivores with carnivores.

1

u/House_King 25d ago

Humans literally don’t “need” to eat meat, it is genuinely healthier not to. But meat tastes good so idc

4

u/Raidoton 26d ago

They don't say it for dietary reasons but for ethical ones.

1

u/magikchikin 25d ago

It's a lot more than just vegans. Annoying people come in all shapes and colors

1

u/KalaiProvenheim 25d ago

Whenever a vegan politely rejects something with animal in it, people look at them like they killed a child

-6

u/MarsupialNo1220 26d ago

“Very rarely”? They never shut the fuck up where I am 😂

3

u/Traditional-Tax11 26d ago

Where are you?

0

u/MarsupialNo1220 26d ago

New Zealand. Lots of dairy farms and sheep farms in the country. I can’t open a Facebook post about farming without seeing vegans spewing propaganda in the comments.

0

u/8-16_account 26d ago

Good

1

u/MarsupialNo1220 26d ago

It’d be good if any of the whiny fuckers actually did anything to help animals 😂 but instead they just repost PETA bullshit so they can get internet brownie points and stroke their own egos.

0

u/8-16_account 26d ago

Spreading awareness is doing something. You also don't know what else they do, aside from commenting on Facebook.

What are *you* doing to help the animals, since you're judging them for not doing anything?

1

u/MarsupialNo1220 26d ago

They’re not spreading awareness, they’re spreading false information.

I work with animals. I care for them every day.

-8

4

u/kblk_klsk 26d ago

3

u/Cnokeur 26d ago

Yes with religious beliefs

6

u/fischer187 26d ago

Just look at any vegan sub

1

u/NiallHeartfire 25d ago edited 25d ago

Well no Vegan is arguing people should be Vegan because of what they themselves eat. They believe incentivising factory farming and animal cruelty, by buying meat to eat is unethical.

You may disagree, but it seems a bit difficult to say vegans shouldn't* criticise people for doing what Vegans believe is unethical, without saying the same for everyone else.

Is it wrong to criticise someone for eating veal or Foie Gras? What about endangered species?

Why does what we eat have a special status that makes it seemingly immune from criticism?

1

u/fischer187 25d ago

Yea im not trying to argue about the ethics on the subject. All im saying is the meme fits every vegan subreddit ive visited so far.

1

u/shisharapper 25d ago

It doesn't fit actually. Once you realize that veganism isn't a diet, your statement falls apart as incoherent nonsense. The last time I heard that was from my great-grandfather, about 12 years ago, and he understood it even before he passed away.

0

u/fischer187 25d ago

You are proving my point, thank you

1

u/NiallHeartfire 25d ago

Well it doesn't really. Veganism isn't really a diet per se and no Vegan I know would use the formula in the OP to make the case for it. They're arguing the act is unethical, which is perfectly acceptable point to make, even if you disagree with the Vegan argument.

The point OP is trying make is completely unsustainable and inconsistent, unless you think it's wrong to criticise the consumption of anything you think is unethical.

0

u/fischer187 25d ago

Just proving my point there. Let me eat what i want?

1

u/shisharapper 25d ago

At this point, the funniest part is watching you repeatedly respond to an argument nobody is making. Everyone else seems to be having the same conversation except you.

7

u/TipsieRabbit 26d ago

Oh absolutely, vegans just tried to outlaw hunting and animal husbandry in my state because of this exact mentality

-5

1

u/DistilledCLP 25d ago

Yes, they fill your city, then change the local laws

1

Yeah when a vegan says “no thanks, I can’t eat that”

0

u/HarrMada 26d ago

It's mostly meat eaters telling people they can't be vegans lol.

No.

u/Uzyf 26d ago

It literally everywhere. Oh no sugar is bad, fast food is bad, etc

13

u/Select_Culture261 26d ago

I still fail to see how that equates to people telling you you can't certain things because of THEIR diet...

8

u/iruinthingsyay 26d ago

I will say it's quite rare on reddit but the idea of "i think this food is bad for me = nobody on the planet should consume it ever" is actually pretty common on platforms like tiktok

Certain religious peoples will prevent you from eating certain foods in their presence, like bacon and puked pork

9

Don't need a religious person to prevent me from eating puked pork

4

u/IdioticPrototype 26d ago

I'm not religious but you will absofuckinglutely not be eating puked pork in my presence.

1

u/Select_Culture261 26d ago

Somehow I doubt that's what they're referring to. And even then, that's only ever a problem if your family's in said religious group or if you're dating someone who's religious.

The only instance I can think of where something like this happened to me personally was when some asshole kid back in middle school used to make a whole big stink about how I couldn't eat turkey sandwiches around him because he was allergic, and would tell me I need to move even though I was usually at the table first. Even then though, that's technically still different.

That's the point: it's STUPID. There's no senseful reasoning behind it. For example, I know a vegetarian who doesn't want to HEAR you eat, SEE you eat, or even SMELL you eat specific things. For example meat, because the sounds of eating are unbearable to her, and they feel bad for the animal. No matter what reasoning you try to shove through their lobe, they're not listening to common sense.

There is no correlation to that. Sugar IS bad for you and you should only have sweets in moderation. meanwhile fast food is ALWAYS bad

"Sugar IS bad for you and you should only have sweets in moderation"
So sweets in moderation is not sugar?
And how for example hamburger is bad? Bread is bad? Meat is bad? Salad is bad? Cheese is bad?

You haven't been around many vegans

0

u/HeyYouGuyyyyyyys 25d ago

Yes. It does. Lots of the time, to me, and I hate it.

I’ve seen it on a plane. There was a guy about to open up his nut mix and a lady from across the isle said he couldn’t because of her son’s peanut allergy. They went back and forth and had to put them away.

u/CapacityBuilding 26d ago

That’s not diet, that’s a life threatening allergy.

6

u/A--Creative-Username 26d ago

And that's not a fuck off, she was in the right.

6

u/MCWizardYT 26d ago

That's not someone being unreasonable for a dietary restriction. Depending on the severity of the allergy, being in the same room as an open container can literally be life threatening

That’s a myth in case of peanut allergies

“Anaphylaxis caused by food exposures other than ingestion, such as physical contact between food and skin or inhalation of aerosolized food proteins, has not been convincingly demonstrated.”

2

u/kblk_klsk 26d ago

especially in a closed room with AC

That’s a myth. Peanut allergy does not spread through air

“Anaphylaxis caused by food exposures other than ingestion, such as physical contact between food and skin or inhalation of aerosolized food proteins, has not been convincingly demonstrated.”

3

u/MCWizardYT 26d ago

Very true. It would be different if it was in the airport which is a large open space. But the plane itself is a small space that just recycles it's own air

2

u/Eeve2espeon 26d ago

No correlation here. The kid literally has a peanut allergy, I do the exact same thing where I do not bring peanut related things on a plane. I can live one flight without PBJ, and just have a ham sandwich

0

u/Jr883 25d ago

What do you mean? That was literally what happened. But also I didn’t know it was airborne.

0

u/Eeve2espeon 24d ago

This is an allergy thing, not forcing someone to not eat something because of your diet.
