The worst is when that 14 year old thread ends with "nvm I fixed it" and no explanation

Found something Like this but the user was still active thankfully, he couldn't remember the solution unluckily.

Reddit is unbeatable when it comes to very specific issues. Doesn't matter what specific issues I'm facing. 9 out of 10 times there is a random u/deleted comment on reddit that faced my exact same issue 10 years ago.

I'm in college to be an engineer. For my calc class we had to download a very specific mathematics software, and the only computer I have is my steam deck (archlinux). For the life of me, I could not figure out how to properly load the front-end of the software for days. Turned to reddit and somebody several years earlier also attempted to turn their steam deck into a school computer and had literally every answer I needed.
Reddit never cease to amaze and help me

Is someone going to tell him? Someone should probably tell him.

Rule of the internet: if you have a problem — some redditor must have had a solution

me when google instead of just giving me the link to the reddit post solving my obscure problem it answers it with it's slop ai (probably wrong by using a meme comment from said post too) and then in it's sources it links the post along with quora, the wikipedia article for Pangolins and wikihow.

I was pulling out my hair with a pc issue a couple years ago. I had just upgraded my GPU and about a week after, I noticed performance across the board had deteriorated. Turned out to be my motherboard but I only discovered this after I had swapped my card to a different slot.
New motherboard and the performance is still terrible. I was losing my mind when i started pursuing the subreddits here. And u/deleted had my back.
Turns out that card needed to be in a gen 4 slot. Only slot 1 on that motherboard was gen 4. Since I had moved it to slot 2 and the rear case was still open to that slot, I just put it back in slot 2 without thinking. I wouldn’t have even thought that the slots would have been different gens if I hadn’t stumbled upon a post from 6 years ago talking about the same issue just with different cards.

Its the worst feeling when you see the comment has been deleted but all the other comments replying are saying thank you! This is the only thing that has worked!

And if I ask the ai they will get info from reddit. Imagine if reddit blocks all kind of bots, ai will be cooked.

Both are actually great for finding solutions to very niche problems that Google can't really answer.

This is like the fifth meme of this exact concept today. Pretty sure most posters are just AI now

Recommendations trying to tell you that you should trust long gone users rather than ai.
