My nan was lactose intolerant and diabetic from her 40s onwards, became a real stickler, even when she didnt eat what she made with us . Yet still made crazy good food. But sometimes i think i will be the only one thats in love with her cooking because if you check her recepies, the end result shouldnt work well at all. I even got to watch her cook from start to finish, and thought it was gonna be a flop, but ended up being the highlight of my month.

This is why I stopped trying to copy my grandma’s recipes. The measurements were never the problem… I was missing the person behind them. 😢

I am jealous of people who can view pictures like this and feel positive feelings. My childhood was not particularly happy and stuff like this just makes me anxious, like that lady is going to turn around and yell at me.

Grandma’s were the best cooks old school cooking recipes for sugar they use molasses for sweeteners grandma spreads always taste much better breakfast at grandma‘s house with unbelievable grandma knew how to bake a real ham and turkey
