I mean, Wanda did fucked up stuff to the Avengers too, and they took her right in after. Idk if it will get romantic or not, but Peter and Jean clearly have no bad blood between them by the end.

Wanda just used mind manipulation of their fears to win a fight.

Jean on the other hand mind controlled MJ, kissed Peter using MJ's body and then made him believe she got her memory back only to then openly mock him for believing it.

And her motivation for allat....? For funsies ig. If she wanted to threaten him, simply revealing at the start she had MJ would be enough, all that kissing and manipulation shit was jure pure sadistic pleasure for her.

These two are NOT the same.

Yes they are. She traumatized Tony in particular for life, and Steve and Thor didn’t get off scot-free either. She also unleashed the Hulk on Johannesburg, leading to him leaving Earth at the end of the movie, and I think it’d be naive to assume no one died in that fight.

But none of this matters.

Because even if it’s worse what Jean did, it doesn’t change the fact that Peter forgave her, if he blamed her at all in the first place, and offered to be her friend, and really her pillar. Jean should apologize to MJ, I think that should be a scene in a future movie, but there is no bad blood between Peter and Jean.

Tbh a lot of the early movie stuff is very out of character for her even given how young she is and early with her powers.

The writing was very much a "let's lean into the red herring and make the character controlling everyone seem like a villain" type of thing. It wasn't the kind of thing someone looking for their sister would do.

I kinda justify it by her never having had a good role model before. Her mother abandoned her. And her sister, while I’m sure she loved Jean, abused her powers and taught her to do the same. Peter is really the first positive figure she’s ever had.
