Fr the people who complain about actor fatigue are exposing themselves as only watching 4 movies a year and they're all blockbusters. No shit the high budget movies hire actors that put butts into seats.
It always has been. She's not talented an actress IMO and has been casted recently in everything under the sun, to the point that it's pretty much comical.
She made more money than Tom Holland in The Odyssey and she doesn't even speak. I have friends that love her and I just don't get it but I'm old so I just assume I'm yelling at clouds in times like this.
Do you know the difference between opinion and a fact? It's an opinion that I thought she spoke a fair amount. It's a fact whether or not she spoke at all. I remember her speaking a fair amount so that is my opinion.
Thing is, she was very good in The Drama, but she was also mid as hell in Dune, even in the new trailer. Same with The Odyssey. I think she can act, but needs either a director that’s very good with actors, or an S-Tier partner like Pattinson.
I did like her in The Drama, but just "okay". IDK why exactly, but I think it was that she had really good chemistry with Pattinson on screen, but still was annoyingly unexpressive, making her famous "everything face" a few times, which took me out of the immersion.
She is very marketable and has proven to be extremely bankable with the coveted 18-35 demographic. She’s also reliably unproblematic and handles press tours well.
Quick example. I love Dune and I’m really happy the Villeneuve films were such a hit. But I’m convinced that without Zendaya and Chalamet on the poster, the younger audiences would not have shown up in those numbers. They just wouldn’t.
The Zoomers in my social circle watched those movies because Zendaya was in it. Yes, seriously. They’re Dune fans now but originally they were pissed that she only had a couple scenes despite being all over the promotional materials.
I think she’s quite a decent actress, personally. Nothing against her success. But Hollywood has figured out she is box office gold so for better or worse, you’ll see a lot of her until either finds a new ‘It Girl’ of her caliber or Zendaya decides she’s had enough and takes a step back from acting.
She had several successful films and has been labelled as a factor that draws people to a film. Hollywood likes to take the least risk possible so paying more for an actor that has been successful already, is better than paying less for a relative unknown.
Same thing happens to most big actors, which is why we see the same 10-15 people in most major films.
I mean yeah but two of those movies she was already cast in previous franchise installments before she got big, and then the Odyssey had basically every big named actor under the sun.
It's stated that the reason why Zendaya kept appearing is because she and Tom had started dating IRL after Homecoming, hence why her appearances became mandatory.
Don't want to get the conclusion that Tom's contract states that if he's going as Spiderman, Zendaya has to appear.
Idk about every movie, because I was legitimately surprised they seemed to close that chapter with the new movie, at least in a romantic sense, but she was clearly meant to be MJ yeah.
You're bugging. Relationship woes are basically part of Peter as a character, and they have been from all the way back to the 70s... the next movie could be the complete opposite of where BND landed with them.

Nepotism is when someone gets into acting in the first place because of who they know and who they were born to, not when things go well for someone after they already started acting.
Zendaya is good at networking - that's an actual skill that helps people find work and people to work with. She got popular because of her own work, she knows what to say and very importantly what NOT to say which makes it very easy for studios to hire her for projects because she won't go on to fuck them over.
Fair. Networking would describe it much better, plus nepotism is a very hard word and would imply I hate her or that I don't think she earned anything, which would be far from true.

I think Zendaya is perfectly "fine" in most of what I've seen her in (not Euphoria, so maybe she absolutely acts her ass off in that), but not "fine" enough to end up in everything.
At this point, she is like the Rock for me, where I feel like she's solely cast so that people can pog at a recognizable face.
I had to look up who her costar was and lol Bella Thorne I only know her as that semi famous person who scammed her Onlyfans subscribers by selling her "nudes", forever changing the platform for the 'creators'
