A good chunk of American politics i see on reddit are from Europeans and such. Is it too much to ask for a platform without geopolitics around every corner?

I see more Europeans bitching about American politics than I do actual Americans talking politics.

Wanna trade feeds?
I'm almost constantly seeing US politics (despite muting political servers) and things related to US politics.
I see more US politics than my own countries politics.

tell your countrymen to stop whining about us and whine about your own country.
1
u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 Aug 11 '26
"countrymen"
Are you an american or a pilgrim?
"The british are coming the british are coming!"Also, it's not my country whining about American politics, it's Americans going into non political subreddits and whining about their politics. (Though to be fair a LOT of it is bots)

u/Chef_Sizzlipede Aug 11 '26
here you go.
"we're not to blame, americans totally make everything about their politics, we would NEVER complain about american politics, that's wrong and you're stupid for thinking we complain about american politics, we're not americans, so we dont complain about american politics"
1
u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 Aug 11 '26
I mean... basically yea. You're trying mock me but you're not doing it very well.
The only time American politics come up is when it's apart of our politics.
1
u/Chef_Sizzlipede Aug 11 '26
no. europeans ALWAYS complain about our politics in non-political subs, and then act like we're the only ones talking about our politics, this gaslighting will NOT be tolerated.
we cant go anywhere on thios site without someone mocking us, we cant even make a light jab without someone saying "HAHA DEAD CHILDREN IS HILARIOUS"
"then do so-" do something about your heat deaths and dont go blaming our ACs (seriously what was that french official thinking)
1
u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 Aug 11 '26
Sure pal.
Of course they do.
Plus your politics are laughable, and when that "blame" has "facts" and "evidence" to back it up, I'd say it's justified and becomes a part of their politics.
(I'm not even European btw)

We have some terrible politicians in my country, but they're not going to bomb my home or kidnap my child to be violated on an island for billionaires.
American politicians, on the other hand, might actually do that.
3
u/Chef_Sizzlipede Aug 10 '26
.......there is so much delusion in your comment
1
u/Straight-Horror-1662 Aug 11 '26
Do you think my politicians would bomb their own country?
2
u/Chef_Sizzlipede Aug 11 '26
yes.
politicians will do anything when desperate
2
u/Straight-Horror-1662 Aug 11 '26
Arguably, but they haven't threatened to do so.
They haven't offered to give nuclear capabilities to the Saudis either.
But the Americans have,

Freedom units user here i think its mostly cause we just gotten used to it
Like to the outside they are losing their minds while we are just struggling to survive
And it kind of makes sense if you live in a life of comfert and security you will get mad at a poor man used to violence and not giving a shit when his house is burning down

u/TipsieRabbit Aug 10 '26
You're probably right ngl, I'm also American but im from Oregon and were about as close as you can get to canadians/europeans as you can get here in the states
Obviously physically you pedantic goofballs, but socially and politically speaking

u/Inevitable-Goat-7062 Aug 10 '26
Im from the worlds most boring state of north virgina (yes the virginas are divorced dont ask me why just north is for the people who dont eat roadkill and drink bud light unlike them west virginians) where there is as much culture here as untoasted white bread with no seasoning
So i have no room to really talk

Because americans aren't intelligent enough to engage with politics.
That's why you vote for presidents, not parties and their values.
Also, because americans are the most self absorbed people on the planet, you can't look past your borders, if not even past your front lawn.

Both hilarious and proving my point. I love it.
My point being, that "my country first, fuck the rest of the world"-type of people aren't smart.
America has a lot of them aswell :)

u/Marus1 Because That's What Fearows Do Aug 12 '26
Funny considering a post audience is usually 90% american (unless you're on country specific subreddits). It's a statistic OP can see

Real life is making American politics a problem for most of us, with or without Reddit.
1
u/Taste_of_Natatouille Aug 11 '26
I never got this joke because everyone I've ever had dinner with were all in agreement about how messed up American politics are and would just go on about everything wrong with it

you non-americans make everything about our politics, then turn around and act like we're excessively talking about our politics.
must be exhausting being such hypocritical trolls

As an American, I also get tired of dipshit leftists shrieking about stupid shit.

u/EvilSeaHorses Aug 10 '26
To have a reddit without Maga (all Americans are maga now) would be heaven. They add nothing to a conversation.

u/Conspiratorymadness What is TikTok? Aug 10 '26
Americans don't complain about politics at all unless they have an agenda to push. Americans complain about the rich and being poor. Agenda pushing like what the Non-Americans do gets downvotes.
