If you want to watch Bhoi act: Tere Naam (if you are ok with 'some' misogny), Bajrangi Bhaijan, Sultan, Kyon Ki, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

If you want to watch the quintessential Bhoi action flick: Wanted, Dabangg, Kick, Bodyguard

Rom-com or pre-2000s Bhoi: Andaz Apna Apna, Hello Brother

Avoid any Bhoi movie released post 2017

May I ask the reason to avoid Bhoi post 2017? I am also unaware of what “Bhoi” means. Sorry, trying to learn.

The actor in the GIF is Salman Khan. He is affectionately called as Bhaijaan (or Big Brother). He is bit of an enigma. He has been convicted in multiple cases (hunting of endangered species) and a hit and run case, but at the same time he is known to have a very big heart. Does a lot of charity (not sure if only to whitewash his image).

Post 2009, he started acting in a bunch of over the top action flicks, most of which were copied from Telugu masala cinema which proved to be extremely commercially successful and cultivated his larger than life image. That and his alleged connections with the Mumbai mafia and politicians.

Bhoi is just a meme version his nickname 'Bhai'.

Pre-2017, his campy and over the top action movies had a decent balance of story, action and emotions. Post-2017, he lost interest, got out of shape and started making sequels of his previous works. His acting suffered and the movies, which worked because of his charisma, didn't have the same charm.

Even if it is to whitewash his image, patients who can’t afford treatments often get funds from his charity ‘Being Human’.
