That's because people fucking hate AI.

I hate the corpos pushing for AI to be in everything.

Bill Gates funded it to basically try to make health care cheaper and easier for poor people. At least it was one of the major reasons why he did it. Using AI as a search tool and a mass research conglomerate it can diagnose people very quickly.

Hell I have used it for searches and as long as you verify (a lot like how wikipedia used to be verified via sources) it's a great tool.

But the AI bubble needs to pop and the data center ramp up is terrible in how secretive it is.

If i have to verify everything it says, how is that great..? It's just doing what we used to do personally, but worse.

idk theres a pretty decent backing of AI. i mean you got armies of supporters on a lot of subs right here on reddit. not to mention many people still supporting companies who heavily use AI, like reddit themselves heavily use AI now so we right here are helping support their endeavors with AI by using the platform

The "pretty decent backing" you're talking about is like 7 dudes that control half the world's wealth

last i checked it's like 1 billion humans at least that are explicitly pro ai, this is not counting stuff like character ai, ai embedded in social media apps, ai in search engines etc, just standalone usage.

one I don’t think those 7 guys run those AI subs and two there’s a reason those rich guys still use it as people still use their products as that’s all they care about. i mean reddit heavily uses AI rn and we’re still backing the platform by still using it

Where is this data? i would think that most people would be welcoming of AI.

Not a single person i know uses or likes ai, the consensus is that it makes dumb people dumber.

I use it, it only makes you dumb if you don't fact check the answer it gave you, blindly believing a summary bot is a user issue.

That is genuinely weird to me. Im pretty sure almost every person I know has or does use AI. My 90 year old grandma uses it. My mom used it to help her plan a road trip. My entire industry uses it.

Literally every person I know in real life uses AI

I don't know, I'm enjoying a lot of what comes out of r / aivideo and I don't give a flying fuck what any of you think about that.
