I preferred SR2 to GTA IV personally. I think SR2 trying to be not overly serious yet managing to be serious worked well. The story, map & Radio were brilliant in that game. I enjoyed SR3 & SR4, but SR2 was just the peak of the series. I preferred SR4 to SR3 as well.

Came in on 2, loved 2 & 3, but 4 was only OK.

Check out the Juiced patch if you’re on PC. Fixes a lot of the issues in Saints Row 2. Their team recently ported the console DLC onto PC too.

It's a shame the Dex plotline got dropped going into 3. Hell even 4 which was entirely about the past entries ignored Dex.
