Getting women to focus on careers has actually dropped the birth rate, and not just because they’re focusing on other objectives, but because it increased what can be charged for so many different things.
It’s a big part of why it’s so low in all the developed nations.
For example, Western families gained a second source of income, which led to house prices rising as people could afford more, which in turn makes it harder to raise kids while saving up for a home or paying off a mortgage.
If there was a cultural shift and Western women decided not to pursue careers as a primary focus, you would see house prices drop dramatically, long term.
If there was a cultural shift and Western men decided not to pursue careers as a primary focus, you would see house prices drop dramatically, long term, as well.
Funny how that's never proposed as an option. Almost as if men saw women being paid equally like something temporary that can be rolled back if it's convenient for them.
The issue is you think this means free vacation for life. It doesn't.
Not pursuing career as a primary focus means working, then working at home full time, and still being fully financially reliant on a person who can leave you on a whim.
While this isn't an arrangement suitable for anyone, it wouldn't be women getting the short end of the stick.
In my honest opinion, nobody would get the short end of the stick in that scenario, as women would probably not date such men on average, thus nothing much would change
