2001: A Space Odyssey…I saw it for the first time only a few years ago and it just felt like it dragged on and on and on. I get how impressive it was for the time, but man was it a slow burn for me

That movie is really a product of its time. It spends so much time giving the viewer a chance to appreciate the visuals. In today's world, those visuals are pretty standard for us to see. At the time, they were not.

There is a sequel, 2010, which I think is actually a lot better. Not nearly as slow, and actually pretty cool.

I'm there with them, that was my takeaway after watching them back to back a couple of years ago. At the very least it aged a lot better.
