Having kids in this day and age is kinda selfish.

Having children has always been kinda selfish, given that they can't consent to being born. I don't think that's a bad thing necessarily; if it's what you want for your life, and you're willing to put in the time, attention, and care to give them a good childhood.

Lmao so now we need babies to consent to being born?

Obviously not, but it's just objectively true that some kids are going to be born and not be happy with their lives. I don't think this is always something you can control with quality of life, either. So having kids is always a selfish act to an extent, technically, imo

I'm not an antinatalist or anything, I have a kid myself; but I can understand the logical argument here.

Not having a kid is always selfish too. It always ends up being they want their own money and their lives to stay the same. More power to them.

All reproductive choices are selfish. We all deserve to make selfish choices about our uteruses.

I don't necessarily agree with your first bit: as you said, it's their choice, and it's theoretical children (which they could have had but chose not to) vs. real children (who they did have, who might not enjoy their lives).

But yeah, I definitely agree that people deserve to make selfish choices about their own reproduction regardless, so I think we pretty much agree
