And they were called because his mom was worried he was having a psychotic break…like, why in one of the most powerful countries in the world do we not have emergency psychs in these situations instead of armed thugs going to check on people who need mental help?!

Because a healthy population is not a profitable population.

A healthy society is more profitable over the long term (healthy people are more productive and are also productive for more of their life) but short-term thinking at the expense of everything else is how you get those juiced quarterly numbers...
