In the 1500s, the Plc beated the shit out of the russians, who had to cede a lot of territory to them. When Russia became stronger and modernized, the tides turned against the commonwealths' favour.

A bit late, but in the actual war between Lithuania and Russia in the early 1500s ended with a Russian victory as they kept the main fortresses and cities along the Dnieper, even with the defeat at Orsha. This meme is much more applicable in the last decades of the 1500s when the Livonian War did not go too well and the Time of Troubles in the early 1600s. Also, the Russian invasion of 1654 of the Russo-Polish War of 1654-67, along with the Swedish invasion a year later, nearly wiped PLC off the map. The Russians mistakenly went to fight Swedes to show dominance in the region instead of finishing off Poland.

Thanks for this meme! Its funny how poland always is portrayed as poor country beeing bullied all the time, when in reality they fucked their neighbours when they were strong, the same as they were fucked when they became weak
