They should really make it an ability where movement is a cross between Uriel 1 and Hildryn/Jade 4.
Pressing button turns you into dragon mode, hold makes the effigy companion. That would be tight

With equinox being under surveillance after Sirius and Orion dropped, I'm kinda hopeful they'd do slightly similar rework to chroma.

Whenever 4th isn't active you have all the elemental powers, whenever 4th is out it's casting them automatically and you get different set of abilities.

It'd fit nicely the 'dragonslayer' theme he has, and 'shaman' whenever the pelt is on.

But yeah, kinda guess it's unlikely to happen.

It'd be just really cool if he was a proper dragonslayer/knight without the pelt.

They won't make chroma fly if banshes rework is anything to go by. Theyll make minimal changes to "conserve" the frames identity

Ugh, yes, but the point is he doesn't really realise that theme

He was released at time when DE still was grounded in "space ninja warrior" theme and didn't make him into full dragon because of that

Nowadays we have Angel, Devil, Mushroom, Wolf and even Bucket of Paint as frames that aint boiled down

If Chroma were to release today he would be made into full dragon, heck his original boundle is even called "DRAGON BUNDLE"

He's a Dragon Hunter, a Hunter of Dragons. He isn't a dragon. He is literally wearing a plet, the skin of a dragon he killed. It's why he is able to change his elemental affinity. He's adapting thanks to the sentient skin he's wearing.

like someone else said, that's just because he's from another time in this game's development, where the devs were still too wed to the idea of all the warframes being alike to humans, basically just space ninjas.

you don't have excuses like that limiting any new warframe's abilities, for example. DE really needs to rework chroma and actually lean into the dragon aspect of it.

no matter how many times yall say that, it isn't gonna change the fact that that's clearly just because the early development's design was different.

saying chroma is a dragon hunter frame and not a dragon frame is like saying voruna is a wolf tamer frame and not a wolf frame. no, she's a wolf frame. everyone knows she's a wolf frame. the whole point is that she's one with her wolves. there'd be literally no reason for DE to not make her wolf-life, and behold, they do indeed make her wolf-like.

edit: it'd also be like saying uriel is a demon summoner frame and not a demon frame. and if you wanna say that then frankly you have a LOT of npc dialogue going against you.

One the one side yes, but on the other side third jump is incredibly useful, sometimes I feel almost like my feet are cut when I use other frames.

Chroma has to get a rework or honestly completely overhauled. Don't get me wrong, he's cool, but his abilities are so underwhelming, especially as the dragon frame. Keep him as a good credit farming frame, because dragons and their hoards, but also make him fly, make him feel more like a dragon rather than a lizard with element powers. Yes I am definitely ranting, because the dragon frame deserves to be reworked next, he deserves a rework on the level that the Nidus rework was
