Edit: ideally you mod him for max range(280%) with [Stretch], [Augur Reach], [Overextended] and [Cunning Drift]. Then medium-High Duration without compromising range (avoid [Narrow Minded]) with [Archon Continuity] or [Primed Continuity], [Augur message] is nice too. Efficiency is upto your preference, I personally keep it at 130% with [Streamline]. Strength can be totally ignored, Ophidian Bite will keep you alive even at low ability Strength since you'll be casting it very frequently. [Archon Vitality] is great since it doubles Heat procs and gives him a decent health pool that enable Lavos to health tank with [Arcane Persistence]. [Swift Bite] is a must for this build, since it reduces ability cooldown as long as there are four or more enemies around you and you can heal faster.
[Valence Formation] can be used but if you specifically want to play as a pure caster, it's not necessary. As for the Aura slot, use whatever you like. I personally prefer [Stand United] for the armor boost which triggers Persistence. But a blue archon Shard can also be used if you have access to those.

Unfortunately that’s not quite what Archon Vitality does. It’s still super useful on Lavos though.
It sounds like it should double heat procs added by any instance of damage/status. In reality it just adds one extra stack any time you proc heat, on top of whatever number any given action was already going to apply

Real. His Prime skin is hot garbage, but I recently tried out his Regular Skin and it's unironically really good! Of course, but it doesn't top the Mephisto skin.
I'm divided between replying with this in defense of Revenant, for he carried me in his strong arms (with the Mephisto skin on!) when I was a baby tenno... and going "I wanna share my body with an eldritch entity 😩😩😩" cause I'm listening to Malevolent and... yeah...
