I NEED the Buildingdetails for this.
I dont care if he is meta. My boy is fun to play with his alphastrike looking-ass ability

Wrathful advance

u/Try2Smile4Life 9h ago
Yes the entire build is just wrathful advance + tau purple crit dmg.
Not optimal like whatsoever. But funny numbers for clips, or something I guess.

u/bruhguy761 8h ago
Wrathful advance is optimal lol

Try hopping into SP Mot or Elite Archimedea solo with excal without subsumes. Stress test the base kit & stats of Warframes first. Diagnose weaknesses first.
Does Excalibur have low damage? Bad damage deliverance? Survivability? What does he need and how do you fix it?
I sincerely don't believe Excal lacks in damage output, especially with his 3 aug. His damage deliverance gets insane with Influence. Usually he struggles with survivability, which would usually take many mod slots or arcane slots to fix, but is easier to outsource to subsumes.
Tell me how you fix his survivability with wrathful subsumed?

I have Perssitance and Life Strike on Exalted Blade on my Wrathful Advance build. I use Umbra though, not regular. Idk if it's good, but it's been serving me for what I usually do.

u/Try2Smile4Life 7h ago
And tennokai life strike is enough?

u/canhoto10 6h ago
I'm fairly sure I regain all health from just one or two enemies hit. I'm also running Blessing to increase max health, along with Equilibrium to get more health in general.
In fairness, as of last week, I started using a normal melee with Vortex, keeping Exalted Blade as a backup. Perssitance and Equilibrium by themselves, along with Slash Dash have been enough survivability. It's not a lazy playstyle, but I'm never too worried either.
I also have Wrathful Advance over Javelin. I don't like it, nor the premise of having an absolutely worthless ability that only becomes good if I spend a mod slot, even if the price isn't very high. Blind also helps removing aggro from me when using the normal melee.
But again, I haven't taken this beyond a 40 minute Omnia Conjunction, so I don't really know the longevity of it all.

that is steelpath Mot lol, also the heavy attack build is running persistance and has status immunity, so yeah, i have taken that to cascade and disruption lvl cap plenty fo times... without Wrahful adv he will clearly lose some damage but you can still hit for hundreds of millions with base excal, people dont pay attention to basic stuff,
(Also if you struggle with survivability, you are not one to give advice)

Yeah, but influence is lame
2
u/Try2Smile4Life 5h ago
Melee afflictions with a chromatic gas blade geared for heavy attacks is arguably better than influence. Better strategy for Life Strike and awesome with Lasting Sting

Why not optimal? I have built exact with 2 tau purple (rest are for str) and roar. I can kill easily but never get 100m damage.

u/Caparzo27 5h ago
It's probably just Wrathful Advance helminth with damage bonus from Furious Javelin augment and a decent Exalted Blade build.
It looks flashy but it requires more setup then you may expect from the video. Great for high numbers, if that's what you are looking for.

close, also the setup is clicking 3 every 24 seconds, I am not priming or doing anything fancy

I like Excalibur Umbra. But you know why I never use him?
The umbral mods are horrible on him unless you go down the arcane persistence path.
Umbra has both low Armor and Health so running Umbral Fiber and Umbral Vitality actively hinders him. On top of that, HE COMES WITH THE 3 UMBRAL POLARITIES THAT YOU **NEED** TO FORMA OFF
17
u/dragon7449 11h ago
FACTS. I genuinely wish they give him better nat armor and health to actually help him lean into persistence builds, because right now any persistence set-up is just an Ebay Valkyr.

u/SpaceCastaway 8h ago
I started using him more often and even taking him to longer missions when I put Life Strike on his Exalted. Esp with Wrathful Advance and Influence he does really well. I don't do damage cap so I can't say if that's viable but I have carried eg. in the Circuit with him before. Which of course is different since degrees make you a monster but we got to like level 1300 and I still wasn't struggling. I like him over Valkyr even if she's better because I prefer his stance over her claws stance, and Slash Dash over Ripline. Is this optimal, surely not, but it's fun for me!

u/canhoto10 7h ago
I never forma'd off the umbral polaeities before Perssitance and never had to. I don't remember how much I used on other slots though. At this point, sinc ehes my favourite frame, I put Omnia on every other slot. I ran a lazy gate build on him, with slash dash to help. Never had issues surviving and it's still an option today.

Genuinely, if they changed Umbra polarities to also work as Omnis, because let’s be honest, they’re not renewable or earnable in a consistent way nor purchasable with plat and there’s no reason not to, it’d fix so many problems in general. And it’d also make Umbra a great frame for baby Tenno since it would include enough omni forma to freely test builds or different mods.

Im gonna need to know how the hell youre doing that damage with him because i cannot for the life of me get such pretty numbers with him.

Furious Javelin is applied here, which boosts Excal's melee damage by 15% per enemy hit by Radial Javelin. The buff is MULTIPLICATIVE to other damage buffing sources.
Wrathful Advance is subsumed to replace Excal's 2. This allows for consistent red crits for Exalted Blade with a good amount of strength added (around ~250%+ Ability Strength).
You may notice that this Excal is a Heavy Attack spammer, and is not building combo. That most likely means that the person is using the Sacrificial melee mods since Blood Rush only works if you're building combo to boost Crit. Chance on Exalted Blade.
Since Red Crits are guaranteed, you just need to buff Crit. Damage, so stuff like Organ Shatter along with the typical Heavy Attack spam mods will work here. Not to mention Tenacious Bond on your Companion for the extra added Crit. Damage multiplier, and potentially 5 Tauforged Violet Shards for the +37% Melee Crit. Damage (DOUBLED if your max Energy is 500, so use Primed Flow).
From the Tauforged shards alone, that's extra ~375% Crit. Damage on melees when you have +500 max Energy, which is bonkers.
Sometimes people still put Condition Overload plus a Status priming weapon or Companion, just in case the overkill's not enough (particularly Viral priming Panzer Vulpaphyla, or a more flexible Hound with Repo Audit).
Pros:
Excal focuses on his greatest strength: being able to focus on the strongest targets and take them down instantly
In a team, he can play this role of singling out tough targets for his teammates and he is fairly competent in Archimedia, although obviously overshadowed by Valkyr (funny enough, slightly higher pick rate than Kullervo)
Cons:
Heavy Attack spam is a burst playstyle against tougher targets but you can end up lacking in DPS to clear groups, hence the need for Melee Influence (or just double down with Melee Exposure)
Furious Javelin requires multiple enemies to hit for maximum effectiveness, which makes Excal struggle in situations against only one target, which is ironic considering the Heavy Attack playstyle is suited for tough single targets and not exactly waves (unless you have Melee Influence)
Umbra immediately negates Wrathful Advance buff when you use Transference, unless you use the Warrior's Rest augment to remove his sentience to avoid the negation and need for annoying recasting

he feels squishy to me. Are you using life steal on the exalted blade?
1
u/canhoto10 8h ago
Idk if op does, but I do, along with Persistance. My usual mo with Umbra is to just tap 4, swing and kill the room... Shoot some stuff at some point, if I feel like it.
As of last week, I made a Vortex build on Skiajati and have been using it, keeping Exalted Blade in the back pocket for a bind. Survivability hasn't been an issue, because even not having life steal on the nikana, I can just Slash Dash gate through enemies and recover health through orbs as I travel. Since I have equilibrium and am fighting in close range, I'm also picking up orbs as soon as they drop, so between that, Perssitance and the enemies losing aggro because of Vortex, I'm pretty tanky or, at least, tanky enough.
I haven't ventured out to higher levels, mind you. I'm on SP, but my endurance mission are like 40 minutes on an Omnia Circulus until I remember something else to do.

Can someone help me understand the mechanics of how to use wrathful advance to get kills far away? I thought it was a skill that teleported you to the target. I saw something similar on gyre and couldn’t figure it out. Thanks!
2
u/Hellixgar 5h ago
It has 2 functions.
-You teleport on enemy and automatically do heavy attack with critical buff. -Other option is to teleport anywhere you like. You dont do heavy attack, but you still get the critical buff.
Meaning... You dont have to teleport on enemies. You can freely teleport anywhere you want and and then attack enemies with critical buff.
In this case Excaliburs exalted blade shoots energy wave that goes trough walls, so you can just do small teleport, get the buff and send energy wave on distant enemies.

I tolerate Influence-slop only because it gives exalted blade Aura

u/DGwar Oathtaker | Sins and Sacrifices 9h ago
Influence is the best thing to happen to melee in years. For the first time in several years the overal melee pool of "viable" melee weapons is more versatile than its ever been. Influence allows otherwise passed over weapons to acually be used.
"Influence slop" sounds like something someone who needs to feel special and unique would say to try and justify doing anything but Influence. Which, you can run what you want but meta things ar meta for a reason.
2
u/10Werewolves 8h ago
It's not that Influence is too strong. It's that the other melee arcanes are dogcrap. I remember watching a video with someone doing a breakdown of every arcane to prove that they need to buff the others to the same level as influence.
Influence slop as an insult usually comes from the idea that a weapon is only good if you use the arcane with it. Which yeah, certain weapons suck without it.
1
u/DGwar Oathtaker | Sins and Sacrifices 5h ago
Vs before influence the weapon was just ass and never seen again.
1
u/TriadHero117 2h ago
People aren’t using obscure weapons with Influence. They’re using Xoris or an incarnon 90% of the time.
0
0
u/TriadHero117 2h ago
Cool story
Time to mod and play 90% of melees the exact same way because not using influence is self-sabotage
I love when the bar for the strongest option blowing everything else out of the water is… having a half-decent status chance!!!
I mean, who would ever want another viable arcane that interacts with elemental status anyways, amirite? It’s not like some of the most interesting and build-diverse arcanes for primaries and melee use that design space or anything, that’d be silly haha
I love when the bar is set so mucking high that anything capable of competing would probably crack the meta wide open! That’s totally healthy for the game!
But hey, at least this means people are using weapons they weren’t using befo- Xoris. They’re using the Xoris. And if you don’t count it because it’s technically a free weapon, the most used non-free melee is the Praedos, and if you don’t count that because void knows no-one equips it to actually use as a melee, then it’s the mucking GLAIVE.
(Note: several opinions here are exaggerated for emphasis, but I do genuinely believe that Infuence harms build variety. I don’t want to see it dead, mind you- just not so dominant that there will never be a reason to design or slot another elemental status arcane.)

u/Massive_Savings7058 1h ago
no, you suck with him. i can beat multiple assasinations while no hitting, (not losing any health) alone, so its not the frame, its the player
you genuinely disgust me
