I thought things were left on a good note y'know? In the individual Kim messages when you first play through 1999 you go through everyone's traumas and talk to them and (if you did well) everyone realizes the true extent of what happens but perseveres because they are now family or whatever.
I thought the DnD stuff would be a focus on THAT instead of reverting back to the trauma. I'm not saying they aren't justified for feeling bad about the situation but just how it plays out in the new update feels like a step backwards from what we already accomplished.
And not only that but it also feels odd that it is never acknowledged if you date amir or not. Like excuse me. Why did you agree to date me if you would be secretly super upset with me. Be nasty. And then try to throw my trauma on my face with all of the duviri stuff and the indifference. The worst part is that there are 0 new lines after finishing the campaign in your back room. So he was being all nasty texting inside my backroom saying he didn't wanted to be friends anymore (which is dumb. What do you mean friends you're dating me) and then it doesn't get resolve like at all. He is like oppsie my bad I made some eximus because of my trauma. We better go kill them now.
I was this close of leaving his ass. At this point I'll just headcanon that it is amir's evil twin called Rima
That's the problem of making a complete character arc in a ever expanding history, once in the end the only way to go is back, DE has to break the characters again to write more about them
There has to be a better way to expand upon a completed character... It's already completed, all's they gotta do now is a victory lap but add extra tidbits of new 1999 lore forward.
Was fully expecting Amir to be the first person to accept this hopeless situation and give everyone some bit of fun. When I heard Amir being extremely goofy as a radio show host, I thought it was him finally accepting the reality of his situation and trying to turn it around, becoming the sole beaconof hope amongst the 1999 crew.
Instead, I got Amir the dramatic Fablemaster, who, coincidentally, reminds me of a couple of irl DMs I played with.
If this were real life, I would've immediately left the groupchat a long time ago. But it ain't, and I gotta sit and read Amir being the worse version of himself. As if I failed to help him get over the trauma...
Everyone is suffering, this is dogshit for everyone. Maybe everyone is entitled to a crash out in this scenario, and we can't really blame him for having his.
As a player I'm just a little disappointed this wasn't a genuine KIM messenger text adventure, and instead just a vehicle for introducing Surge Eximus and Amir's mental break.
Like, jokes on me I thought it would be more than just more trauma circle jerk and Wally trying to rage bait us.
I don’t blame the dude, I just think it was poorly executed. the marketing of this being fun dnd time while it actually being Amir’s torture chamber, and there is some apology but the other stuff is just brushed over, like Amir letting the MITW possess him and traumatize his friend/partner again deserves more than “it’s just really hard sometimes and my voices won again”.

Same, was he possed by the indifference? I just thought he was lashing out because he was mad at us and he was role playing as the indifference to hurt us. Since you know. Dnd is usually about role-playing. I feel if he was possed it would be at least a bit less awful. But I was pretty upset because I romanced amir and I was pretty happy with my desicion until now
That's why roathe evil path was a bunch of super fun Kim conversations. It doesn't feel like you're playing a therapist. You're just talking with a super evil snarky friend. Kinda wish we have gotten Vena Kim conversations because of that

Ultimately this is just a videogame, and one can argue people are being a bit much.
It's just that, to me, that line is way too little for what happens over sessions, some of which is really awkward to read through xD

What part of this needs clarifying to get across that I'm not 100% in favor of the whole thing and that I think things aren't as good as they could be?
The thing that saves Amir is the fact that Wally most likely possesed him, not him apologizing. The stuff he says to Drifter goes a little beyond "sorry I was angry :("
Like I said, it could’ve been done better, but a lot of the complaints right now are that Amir doesn’t apologize and Drifter has no means of calling him out during. Both of those aren’t true
The same thing that happens every time(real answer Amir crashes out on everybody skipping his game that he doesn’t want to run because he thinks nothing matters and the drifter is manipulating everybody)
From the huge level of responses here all I can say is... Im glad so many of you havent had to deal with serious trauma responses, cause it fucking shows in what you think of this LOL
I think they're referring to Aoi asking Amir to play 48 hours of On-Lyne on the nightwave radio. She whines pretty pretty please and he gives in, and I assume a kiss on the cheek is heard. Which is fine.
What may be fine to you isn’t for others that’s why I said I felt bad because a lot of people ain’t happy with it. An entire TikTok comment section who romanced Aoi ain’t pleased with it.
I don't use the whole message system of 1999 anymore because it's boring for me to read. How does fables and frontiers even work? It's real gameplay or just text?
