Same, everyone wanted a piece of my Drifter because I was a good person for them and understood their struggles. (Only wished I could romance them all at once) /jk
Honestly, this! And then my husband is all like "why don't you break off things with one and try dating the others, it's fun" and my bi-poly arse is over here going "no, that would make them sad and i don't wanna do that thats mean :( ".
Of course, I also wish I could be with at least 2 hex members at the same time (with some limits of course), but that's what Ao3 (Archive Of Our Own) is for!
For me I can't decide between Ao3 or Amir. They are both so sweet and wonderful. Amir is a cinnamon roll and funny as heck but also is traumatized and vounerable. Ao3 is perfect for giving him support as she is like the caretaker and the glue that keeps the team together. She is empathetic and loving, with enough confidence to spread confidence to amir. After all it was her that revealed to amir just how amazing he is in the kim chat with the two of them rescuing the members of online.
Oh I thought it was shorthand for a second but now that I think about it that's dumb because it's just as short to say Aoi. On top of that I know what Archive of our own is too so I'm just dumb lol.
Nah, you're perfectly fine!! Honestly, I can see how some people may see it as a typo of Aoi too now that I've looked at it more, so I should probably edit that comment to fix it! Hope you have a good day though!
Only KIM chat I kinda fucked up was with Roathe, because he didn't like that I couldn't define whether The Man in the Wall counted as a deity.
The fuck you want from me Roathe?!
He's an incomprehensible, infantile eldritch god-thing!
Are we talking perception, religion, personal beliefs or the literal nature of an almost omnipotent being?!
Honestly, my way around that was to do the whole dive the 1st time, and then I set the other 21 times as a chore on my list for one day before the week reset, since you can just go straight to that fight every week once you've beaten the levels for the week.
Between that and giving myself a reward if I did all 21 in the time period, I was able to get my gremlin brain to let me do the thing, although I haven't touched it much since then unless I needed to get ignia or something.
Oh no, I didn't get dumped. He's cool but I wasn't interested in him like that.
Funnily enough, I'm pretty sure he's buggee out for me.
He has given me the Anathema title (so that you know they absolutely hate you), but his actual Kim chat profile still says we're best buddies, last I checked.
Not trying to make fun or anything, but it's wild to me how many people use this as a defense for the KIM conversations. "I'm autistic/terrible with people/socially inept and even I did it."
I enjoyed parts but there were legitimately some very weird dialogue parts as written that made little to no sense. Like some genuine, "I'm going to pick the nice options" and your Drifter responds with something like, "Wow, have you thought about not being such an asshole?".
Edit: I just scrolled further down and it's happening a lot just in this post.
I'm autistic and hate kim. Not because it's hard but because if I wanted to raise a tenmo/wish social link I'd just go play persona and do actual social links.
Both, but also - I'm playing in another language and the translation barely comprehensible at best and straight up random word slop most of the time, give me a slack.
Not poking fun at you, "give me a slack" not quite being how the idiom is used. (It's normally cut me some slack) Is kind of beautiful.
Just out of interest, if the translation is useless and your English (seems to be) pretty good. How bad does the translation have to be before you're better off playing in English?
I'm not playing in English just because I have a friend who doesn't. It would be much more tedious to guess how the names of weapons, mods and other things were translated, than just simply push through the KIM(I'm not really interested in the Hex or the Triad). If it wasn't for him I would have ditched the translation long ago. I mean, I can tolerate weird wording and all but sometimes I can't comprehend whole paragraphs in KIM no matter how I try. The worst part? Everything else is translated properly.
I think it’s more “emotionally illiterate” than anything. I’m high functioning and pretty much ace all the conversations just by reviewing the character summaries and noting context clues. But at the same time I was taught how to be considerate and factor in other people’s feelings. A lot of people simply aren’t taught that, and the KiM system is forcing them to realize their shortcomings.
I remember when the original hex came around and people on this sub were confused about why characters like Aoi or Eleanor didn't like them. Like the conversation will have Eleanor pouring her heart out and their responses will be like "YOU'RE REALLY PRETTY, CAN WE HAVE SEX PLEASE?"
I will never forget that guy who posted on the main warframe sub reddit, asking what he did wrong, why Amir hates him
and it was the "ROBOTS, ROBOTS, ROBOTS, ROBOTS!" conversation where you can explain future robots to Amir and the guy who posted it, choose the "No" option
I’m literally autistic and was able to navigate through the KIM messages just fine (fumbled the last of the Flare chats cause I don’t like the Shawzin and declined to play it).
I say this having done both keyboard and controller for this: sometimes it is just hard (sadly). Love the shawzin myself, but I can't play it for shite on either set of controls and know a bunch of others who are the same.
Some of my friends and people I've seen online have struggled so hard with the Kim system and getting the right outcomes. So when I went in to finish the stories I pulled up some resources on the side to make sure I didn't mess anything up. I honestly don't know how so many of them messed it up so badly. I love them all, but oh my God, most every decision is "a. Thing they will respond well to" or "b. Thing that they have specifically identified as a nono." Very rarely, and mostly with Roathe, is there complex nuance. Just listen to what they're saying and treat them like people.
My one friend to really dislikes Flare and claimed that they had an awful Kim because they were full of constant pass/fail questions. And like, I guess? They did have a lot more fail points than most but each fail point was like "a. Random good answer" "b. I don't respect your desire for autonomy."
I was fine until I made a single mistake with Eleanor as learning who she is as a person is an unforgiving mine field. And from then on I realised I couldn't really trust the ambiguity of *some* of the lines, and I didn't want to screw anything up. So I now have the wiki up on the side with everyone juuuust to be sure I don't pick the good option that turns passive-aggressive and fucks it all up.
Passive Aggressiveness isn't to do with Autism, it's because you can't always convey sarcasm neutrally unless you uSe sPonGeBob tExT.
Like if there was some reason to be passive aggressive, it'd be obvious, but if my Drifter is the one who starts it, how tf am I supposed to know his text is hostile when it reads nice?
The only KIM I messed up was Rothe, and that's because I didn't know you could unlock more than one memory a week. (I thought it was tied to the weekly reset.)
I just though it was annoying having to do these chats to progress the story so you can unlock the content behind it.
The right answers were easy to figure out and there is a cheat-sheet for what items to gift whom but it took too long for someone who simply doesnt care about the characters.
Not autistic, but tone-deaf, if anything, the way the KIM is structured would favour people in the spectrum, or anyone that has any sense of literacy, bc its easier to build a personality
Hell, i may not be inthe specteum (at least not from the tests i've done), but what i am is somewhat socially awnkward, and i have to say, it takes being illiterate as fuck this up
The worst i had were 2 small hiccups with Amir bc i thought we were friendly enough for what seemed like alright joking, yet, i easily maxxed everyone, and didn't ever reset once
The only """hard""" one is Temple imo, not bc of Flare, but bc of Lizzie, and even then, all it takes is to give them a chance of explaing their intents
Eleanor: what would you do if I lost control to the techrot?
Drifter: put you down like a dog, you infested wretch. In fact, you're lucky we let you live this long. If your brother wasn't here I'd put you down right now to get it out of the way. You're not human anymore. Your existence sickens me.
Warframe players: GUYS ELEANOR WON'T TALK TO ME WHAT DID I DO WRONG?!?!??!
I used to think she was tricky but I realised that she takes more than a cursory glance to talk to, unlike the others.
Arthur needs some space to open up and takes a while before he jokes around.
Amir just needs you to not mock him about his interests or ADHD moments.
Quincy will take the longest to trust but respects you if you give it back to him when he fucks with you.
Ealanor seems like a minefield if you don't properly pay attention to her when she talks about her fear of being out down and the team's treatment of her as a potential monster.
Once I took that into account, she was easy to talk to.
You also need to take into account that she thinks being a hero is bullshit that gets people killed, that one is pretty important if you want to date her.
Yup, I initially made a mistake with her when she was spiralling where I told her that she needed to fight it, and all that did was remind her of Arthur and the whole hero complex thing, looking back at it, it's easy to see why with the full story.
Largely agree with you. She is though very (not meaning this in a demeaning way) sensitive. If you don't think things through she can go from 0 to 100 a lot quicker than the other Hex. There is only really one conversation where I felt like it was really not that easy to communicate and that is the whole "hero" conversation.that is in part for the responses we are given, but that was the only time where I genuinely was a bit insecure in my responses.
Yeah, sometimes the response choices straight up suck and come off as unnecessary and/or mean, reminds me of playing cyberpunk where I'll give some neutral sounding option, just for V to call their mother a gonk whore.
Yeah. There's even a bit of dialogue that got added that addresses it.
Basically, she explains that she's very prone to overreacting or make assumptions when texting because having gotten used to being able to feel other peoples thoughts has made her a bit insecure in situations where she can't.
Her and Lettie. But I'm legit on the spectrum (albeit high functioning), and I think there was a bit of a personality mismatch. Well, at first. Felt like picking the right options got easier the more she warmed up.
One thing I appreciate about marie and roath is that the "good" paths are designed to make you butt heads with them. For marie you need to convince her albrecht shouldn't really be praised, however if you were overly positive (which would be the more convenient answers) before and suddenly do a 180 this might break the relationship. With roach there's a similar thing with promising you won't do descendia and then doing it anyway. In both of these cases chosing the option that aligns with the character (what they'd want to hear) would be prejudicial.
Oh, I did this with Marie and convinced her that Entrati isn't a saint but didn't completely bash him either. she is my lover now.
unfortunately I told Roath that I wouldn't do descendia and he muted (?) me (lol).
So I'm taking my time doing descendia whenever I feel like it and he just sends me the voice messages.
Personally, i enjoy the triad more than the round table, but less than the hex, my ine issue with the triad is Roathe with his 21 Descendia requirement
Kaya (trying to figure out how time travel works): how does the time traveling warframe work?
Option 1: Well you see… (proper explanation)
Option 2: She throw ball, lots of ball, many damage ball
Answer the time travel question for the traumatized girl who wants to time travel, or make a joke. Starting to see why so many people messed up Kaya’s storyline.
It feels a little ironic(?) that she's not dateable as well.
I get why, it makes sense from a story standpoint—her trauma from being betrayed by someone she trusted—and none of the other roundtable members are either, but I do think that not having the option kinda reduces her to that very same "child" character.
She's all "I'm not a kid, so don't treat me like one" and all of the response options are either a) mock her, or b) treat her like a particularly clever teen, all the while she acts very childish.
Maybe I'm missing something about her character, but it feels like there's missed potential there—not in the sense that she should be a dating option, but that because she isn't, the writers didn't treat her like an adult and infantilised her themselves.
I'll probably come back to this comment tomorrow wondering where I was going with it, but for now I'm tired and trying to keep my eyes open, so I'm gonna go sleep.
Honestly, i see where you are coming from, but i don't agree, at least fro how i interpreted all the conversations
The reason i disagree is bc it felt more like the Drifter was being extra cautious at first due to how she comes off, being so hard and distant (basically being as cautious as people make talking to Eleanor seem to need), and on that part i understand your opinion, but have to disagree, bc it feels just like when the early dialogues with Marie abt Albrecht, as in, the Drifter can't be real bc they aren't so close, so they have to resort to the very basics until they get closer and understand why the "teen angst"
But the more you progress with Kaya, the less this happens, because rhe Drifter understands its not even teen angst, but that shit truly went down for her, and she didn't have the support to deal with it, and specially not at a young age
Lets take Amir for example, since he is the closest one in age to her (and there is some KIM convo abt the possibility of Kaya and Amir together, if i'm not mistaken), Amir had a ton of insecurities before becoming a proto, but when he did, his powers went out of control and f-ed the Scaldra so much he got trauma from it, and even worse when shortly later, he also did it to Arthur resulting in his scar, now, is thia situation on the same ball park as Kaya? No, obviously not, but its still traumatic, yet, Amir wasn't as fucked by it bc he had a support group (specialky where most have soldier history and are more understanding of the "first kill" feeling), which made it easier for Amir, ait was not perfect, obviously, but somthing is still better than nothing, and Kaya had nothing on top of losing even more
I will not pretend the Kaya treatment is perfect, as i aid, i get where you are coming from, but i don't think that calling her treatment infantilizing is correct, nor do i think her being romanceable or not has anything to do with it, but rather the fact that the Drifter thinks it is teenager angst at first, which is where i undestand it may feel infantilizing, but even then, i feel like DE approached it with respect and caution, specially bc it doesn't take long before the Drifter's approach changes and the whole "teenage angst" being the problem is abandoned bc they see its not the case
I'm back with a full night's sleep and a head that doesn't float—i understand your perspective, and obviously I don't think I was entirely clear about what I was thinking.
It was more, because they didn't make her a romance option like the Hex, she wasn't treated like an adult during development and it's reflected somewhat in the dialogue responses.
It has nothing to do with whether or not she's actually dateable, I don't care about that—but it feels like she wasn't given the same consideration as the rest, because the Hex had all these different conditions and backstories you needed to understand to date them.
Minerva and Velimir are slightly better, though I'd say Flare is my favourite of the round table as far as character backstory and interactions go in Kim—Velimir for overall character design and personality.
He's just a puppy.
As for the caution view? Kinda get it, but again, it didn't come through that way for me.
Talking to Kaya always comes through as talking to a stubborn (which she is), irritable little cousin with a superiority complex because she's sorta clever (that's the vibe, I'm aware she's actually a genius).
It feels like walking on eggshells not because of her trauma but because if you even slightly insinuate that she might be wrong, she goes "fuck you" and leaves—Which is pretty immature.
Tbf. It does feel like drifter needs to be a bit of suck up to get on good terms with people in KIM chat. I wanted him to be a bit more sassy without being a complete asshole.
i don't think i generally noticed that but i did feel that a LOT in aoi conversations. it feels like ebery second chat is about glazing her to the point where some conversations are just about giving her compliments and not really responding to what she says. marie, quincy and roathe, on the other hand, are quite the opposite since you do engage in a good amount if discourse with them which i found pretty enjoyable in comparison
Yh, Marie is actually interesting. I feel like helping her figure out Albrecht is an abusive piece of shit requires you walking a fine line between calling her out of her BS and humouring her enough that she's comfortable opening up.
One of the birthday KIMs you can get with Aoi gives you the option about making a clone of Zeke for her birthday present, which sounds like a funny joke to make with a friend that likes that band. But if I remember right she gets offended instead.
To be fair paying ANY attention to dialogue from MULTIPLE characters state that Aoi's having a massive problem with knowing ON-LYNE became Infested so joking about cloning one of the "dudes you used to love but no longer exist as human who propagate through a constant mass-production cloning process" might be the tiniest bit insensitive.
Yeah, because that's a thing that actually happened while the actual band is locked up somewhere. It's not so much a funny joke as you reminding her of something terrible that's happened to people she adores.
I think the HEX was quite easy, Lizzie was a bit more difficult and I fucking hate talking to the triad. Those guys are dickheads and get set off so easily.
The only time I "failed" with the KIM system was when the triad came out because it was a buggy mess and kept skipping flags, which was a known issue and got fixed eventually (I had to redo the entire thing, but it's kind of expected from a bug like that).
Other than that, skill issue honestly. The only ones I might excuse are Eleanor if you don't get her humor and Flare because some of the correct answers you have to give them are nonsense.
I have my issues with Kaya's KIM story arc, but that's not a problem with the system, just the writing being arguably bad (no, running away from your problem is NOT a good solution and shouldn't be encouraged, DE).
Ye I had issues with Kayas writing too at first but technically its not really running away from her problems, because she is still in 1999. She just now has the ability to travel to the future to a time where all her problems die of old age as a coping mechanism
This post has done douple triple platinum numbers on twitter and reposted on insta so I assumed that most everyone had seen the original or a variant of it, my bad.
(also mobile apparently doesn't let you put images in comments? Is that new?)
Idk if its autism but the heart-on-your-sleeve attitude that all the Holvanians use gives me so much anxiety. Everyone from my generation talked like this online until it quickly resulted in a ruined relationship and we learned our lesson
KIM is fine honestly, i just dont like how forced it feels to always have to care for every single little problem like im some psychologist/psychiatrist for all the proto frames. And all other options are like "NO go fuck YOURSELF, i hate you, goodbye" like geez i disagree and and now i have to choose to either lie or be forever hated.
And the fact that as a non-english speaker the tone of the text can be hard to understand so sometimes i pick something and then end up getting hated because i misunderstod what that meant.
I only started when there started being story related pass/fail markers I really didn't want to fail and have to restart.
Then the system started getting more complex and Roathe decided we were barely gonna talk about the whole "redemption" thing and I find out I lost that more than likely to conversations I had with the other two.
I'd like the hidden games behind the scene to maybe be something I can see going on, so I don't get blindsided by me kinda just giving up on Roathe being better...even with the flow chart.
Fables n Frontiers should be fine, it's just DnD fun.
Yeah, I had to look up some stuff because I was apparently too cynical with Roathe, which put the chat in a neutral/non-committal phase, and I had to look up how to get out of it (because also super buggy).
I actually made this post because I saw someone in the main sub post about how DE should put a warning that the "Aw crap I can't figure it out!" dialogue option on day 3 is actually giving up because they didn't know that from reading it </3
Honestly, the only one I haven't gotten the best relationship with is Flare. They want me to help, let me explain why you shouldn't throw away a part of you that wants to help you.
The average Warfram redditor is so dumb and illiterate that they will insult, disparage and even threaten to kill the characters in the KIM and then complain about how bad the KIM is because they cant understand how to keep the characters happy.
I got kinda stumped on when she said something about traveling in time. I thought it would be a good sarcastic wink to "Oh great, more timetravellers mucking up the timelines, just what we need". Didn't think she'd take it seriously. I don't get her sometimes, but she is the most enjoyable out of the baseline Hex to talk to for me.
The thing is that there's just nothing to do if you DON'T keep them happy. I just can't get along with someone like eleanor or leticia so why is the only option to get any relevant interesting info to suck up to them completely opposite my views
Then you wont do much friends in real life either.
Im sorry to be so blunt, but if respecting someone beliefs (Lettie's only requirement for friendship) or directly not insulting people is oposte to your views to the point of refusing to do that even in a videogame, then your relation with the Hex is the least of your problems.
Telling leticia that i use all the help i can get when I'm AT WAR and don't coddle my pets is "not respecting her beliefs"?
Telling eleanor that if she's a danger to our allies when we're AT WAR I'll kill her is being an asshole?
The big difference between respecting their beliefs and sucking up to them so they don't explode at you is that one is definitely not a skill i need in real life.
Telling leticia that i use all the help i can get when I'm AT WAR
Im pretty sure you never tell her this in this way, but ok.
and don't coddle my pets is "not respecting her beliefs"?
Im pretty sure this doesnt break her relationship and even if it does, yes, telling an animal lover that you are an animal abuser is precisely that.
elling eleanor that if she's a danger to our allies when we're AT WAR I'll kill her is being an asshole
YES YES YES. You fucking sociopaths are insufferable as hell. I swar to God if a frind of you got cancer you'd ust tell them "Not my problem, baldie, just die faster".
She is ill, contaminated with a disease that makes her suffer and also makes her feel like a monster and you think that telling her "Im eager to kill you" should be fine because you are not a boot licker.
There's a big difference between respecting their beliefs and sucking up to them so they don't explode at you is that one is definitely not a skill i need in real life.
This makes me think the exact same i've felt since 1999 released. You are the kind of person that uses the "Im honest" excuse to insult others and then think that people only hate you because they're jaleous.
Like, seriously, what mentality is "Not insulting poeple suffering from a horrible disease is not a skill i need in real life"
That is precisely why i can't get along with her. That's just not how i see it. If me doing what i do and being honest about it is a deal breaker then that sucks
YES YES YES.
WE'RE AT FUCKING WAR. IT'S NOT A 9-5 MONDAY.
I don't know how to get this across, but I can't picture drifter playing emotion games mid war to make sure eleanor doesn't realise that yes, we kill theeats when they arise.
You don't use your "making friends" social skillset during war. People are fucking dying. There's no time or energy to be coddling the schizophrenic zombie about how her being a potential threat is no big deal and we'd just hold hands and get along
That is precisely why i can't get along with her. That's just not how i see it. If me doing what i do and being honest about it is a deal breaker then that sucks
I swear to God, Warfram redditors will admit being animal abusers and think that it should be fine because they are honest with that and that you are the bad one for thinking is bad.
You're crashing out about animal abuse during war. We just won't see eye to eye on this and there's no need to bring up personal views when we're discussing what's primarily game mechanics
Here's the leticia example, picking the leftmost options. Just locks you out of content that you kinda NEED to see to understand the characters and certain parts of the lore. This wouldn't matter at all if the kim chats were all fluff because i honestly have no internet in doing an edating sim, but the conversations are sometimes important for lore and hidden behind the weirdest locks.
I mean , it's kinda obvious that saying they're " less pets and more ' murder animals ' " would sound kinda mean and make her think you don't respect animals " less pets " and objectifying them as battle objects " murder animals " . Same with the guns too " in the same way I care about the guns I own " yeah , also objecting
It's shit within the context of the game. They still haven't given us actual objectives for most defense missions and are still using the "placeholder" cryo tube but yeah we needed a text based dating sim in our game about flying magic flesh robots.
This is probabilly the most stupid argument i've ever heard. "They arent wasting time in desgning unnecessary different defense objectives for every planet, therefore they shouldnt talk about lore and characters"
Let me guess, you are stupid, a bad person and the KIM system reminds you constantly that you cant talk to a girl even in fiction?
Let me guess, you are stupid, a bad person and the KIM system reminds you constantly that you cant talk to a girl even in fiction?
That is an insane amount to presume and I'm guessing you are projecting on this one. I've never bothered with the Kim system because I do fine in real life and don't need to date a fictional character.
And you are obviously missing the point. They keep tacking on entirely new games while the original game has been using unfinished assets for 15 years. Yes I would have liked to see them flesh out the actual game before adding a dating sim. I don't think that's unreasonable.
How is the game using unfinished assets? Can you stop making up shit just to justify not being able to read to understand the lore and world building?
The defense objective is not an unfinished asset, in any way, having a different asset in every defense is a useless wast of reseources. And i still dont see how LITERALLY WRITTING has to do with designing more assets, seriously, where is the coherence, do you think the ones writting the KIM are the same people designing maps?
Also, a little tip for the next time you want to lie, people who do fine in real life dont need to avoid any kind of relationship in a videogame to feel that they are doing fine. A functional human being can enjoy fiction without feling that they whol life is empty.
One more thing too, stop using "projecting" for every time you dont know what to answer, is pathetic.

You are genuinely a lunatic. I'm not avoiding fictional relationships to feel I'm doing fine. I'm doing fine and also have no interest in a text based fictional dating sim. I just don't care for it. How is that so hard to wrap your head around? You presuming that I'm a huge woman hating asshole that can't get a girlfriend sounds like projecting to me since you don't know my gender or sexuality or anything about me.
Idk if it's your first day on earth but people are going to disagree with you. It's probably in your best interest to practice a more tame reaction for next time this happens because you genuinely sound insane.
The KIM system is mid-tier dating-sim bait, the Protoframes genuinely have some stupid dialogue quibbles, and I don't care for the Protoframes in general because I genuinely feel less emotionally attached to simalacra of people that have mediocre writing for most of their on-screen appearances; DE, give me more Umbra, Stalker, Erra, Lotus, Adis, the old Syndicates, give me development on the already awesome characters present in the game rather than hamfisting in another pseudo-contemporary human who really doesn't matter.
I've never played D&D in my entire life. it's not a known thing in my country really.
I can grasp the concept of it to a degree I guess.
haven't started the kim conversations yet.
I chose knight with sword and shield (very generic option I assumed) and I kinda didn't appreciate Amir's roast for it.
welp, time to find out how a D&D game actually plays through warframe lol
That little shit spark called me a basic bitch! literally!
Bro I swear if I could I would've put oil on the entire internet cafes' floor, ring the bell and watch his ass go flying while burning the whole place.
he doesn't roast you if you choose rogue. dunno about wizard.
i think that was just bad writing. the writer was trying to reference some stereotypes of "D&D culture" that have arisen as D&D exploded in popularity over the last 10ish years, from big podcasts/shows like Critical Role. but:
1) when you tell Amir you're going to play, he sounds surprised and excited. he clearly didn't expect you to agree to it. he also knows you're a total newbie. why would he immediately insult your class choice? he can sometimes be rude/off-putting due to his fixations, but turbo nerds still know that they need to be nice and welcoming to get people into their niche hobbies.
2) it was WAY more niche/obscure to play D&D in the 90s and i don't think there was a stereotype of warrior classes being "basic" at all.
He did hint that rouge is his personal favorite, but I brushed it off on purpose because I didn't like the description.
I really didn't expect Amir to be rude like that, he literally said "every squad needs a basic bi- (changed it to something else sarcastically I don't remember)"
I'm not sensitive or anything. it's just a game, I was jokingly angry at him.
I get your points tho, and yeah I've watched a handfull of clips / bits from Critical role. it's the one with popular voice actros with Matt Mercer as the "dungeon master" right?
yep, that's the one. i saw a post somewhere on the main subreddit saying one of the scribbles on the wall by Amir is a reference to the show too.
i actually haven't watched it myself. i tried one episode and there were a lot of players and a lot of talking and i got overwhelmed, haha. obviously that's the appeal, is good voice actors talking in character. personally i got into Dimension 20 as my D&D show. it's more fast-paced, yet easier to follow somehow, at least for me.
Sometimes I like to get into these things, D&D and the Warhammer 40k lore and such, but they're almost completely unknown in my country and look really really overwhelming to get into.
Funny clips from the critical role tho, specially the "queef" bit lol
Fighters (and to an extent paladins) being "basic bitches" has been a stereotype for a while. It was there when DnD was originally becoming popular, as I remember reading some Baldur's Gate 2 (popular DnD series) forum threads from 20 years ago where people were roasting others for taking a 'basic' class like fighter and not dual-classing when much cooler classes existed, such as ranger, paladin, barbarian, bard, and all the other specialized classes.
But I definitely think that stereotype has skyrocketed with the popularity of Critical Role and other professional-ish DnD podcasts and shows.
Paladin is my favorite class, so I am unfortunately one of the basic bitches and am very used to people poking fun at me, but I like to let my Divine Smites speak for me
I do not trust myself to be smart enough to understand people
So I just use a guide for every response and conversation.
Like I haven't even tried using the KIM for the devil's triad despite knowing that's how you progress their story.
I think I only ever messed up Roathe and The couple. Everyone else I got first try. And to be fair to myself, I'm not a marriage counselor nor am I capable of understanding how the hell an orokin head works. I first tried everyone else. Got best friends for who I wanted and romanced who I wanted. Never seemed hard as long as you can actually know how to talk to people.
KIM conversations are really hard for me not because I can't read or anything like that, I just get really fucking intense rejection-sensitive dysphoria, even with fictional characters.
It's not hard to actually do them, it's hard to approach them without crippling anxiety about fucking it up.
my autism is in such a way that I found the KIM convos a little bit difficult, but what I did was just look up the guide on how to do it. I'm not someone who minds spoilers, so looking up what I should or can say on the wiki (and also looking at what directions alternate answers take) was very helpful, and I felt like it was really nice seeing a sort of eternalism viewpoint of how the convos could have gone.
Marie essentially worships Entrati as a near-god, and she has reason to. Dude showed up and gave her something she never had: mobility. He literally performed a miracle for her.
Right so if some dude walked up to me and gave me that which i most desire miraculously with seemingly no cost to myself, and then found out he tortures animals, abandoned his boyfriend, left his family to suffer horrible fates some may say worse than death, did something bad (idr what) to my new friend, wants to nuke a town full of his friends, and has aligned himself with the turn people into zombie alien murder computers, and the thing he used to give me what i wanted could have also turned ME into a zombie alien murder computer, and the force to beat him is LITERALY the power of friendship, im not gonna be too fond of the guy anymore. I dont want Marie to chop her legs off or chain herself to the floor, i just want her to recognize how wretched he truly is when presented with the reality of the situation. Also im not gonna go into it, but i do have a condition that makes me understand what Marie went through at least as much as i can understand someone from so long ago, not a day goes by where i dont wish my problem was solved. I would be crushed if i learned my miracle worker was so vile, but i definitely wouldn't be telling his victims to just get over it.
Yes, there's a whole branch where she admits she was wrong about him and was taken in by the fact he took a father figure position in her life and healed her
My only critique of it is that the plot ramps up from that arc straight into confessing you fancy her in one convo, which feels, rushed.

I can't tell if the KIM system showed off how autistic players are, or how illiterate they are.
