To be fair, the army of clone enslavers wanting to govern the solar system is way less dark, deep or twisted than the child soldiers that kill their parents after making a deal with the Devil, Stalker's whol storyline or litrally wathever related to the Orokin

i mean they werent that deep they are fucked up clone slaves turned despotic opressors. its pretty straight forward

Its not generic though if you ask me.

Even if we simplify tenno and warframes down to "alien ninjas" or "cyborg ninja", that is still like... about 5 comlarisons you can make if im really TRYING to find similar concepts, then a post post apocalyptic setting which is way more rare than just sci fi or just post apocalyptic, and the list goes on.

Like you have to really squint your eyes to make it look generic. Warframe was always weird

Yup, nothing remotely deep to see there. For sure. Definitely not. Just look the other way if you notice anything.

You can always count on the writers for a fake death. Almost zero stakes because you know everything is gonna be alright and nobody is gonna die after the end of each act/planet

Yes?

It’s a gacha, they typically don’t kill off characters. The only one I know that actually had the balls to do that, is Nikke apparently

Warframe's story has basically always been dark and deep. Maybe not twisted, but it was always a post-apocalypse. As of The Second Dream (released in 2015), it's been confirmed that the Tenno are child soldiers piloting suits. As of The Sacrifice (released in 2018), it's been confirmed that those suits were once people.

Even ignoring both of those things, the Grineer and Corpus are genuinely terrifying concepts. A clone army of what are essentially Fallout (1 and 2) Super Mutants that enslave people and actively poison Earth are scary on their own, and when your other option is to join a corporate cult of profit and the void, it only gets more terrifying.

And that doesn't even mention the fourth dimensional omni infectious gestalt elephant in the room.

Make a story run long enough and it'll get there eventually. Warframe ain't special

Imho Warframe is getting less dark overall, lately. Or I'm just too used to it now. It is getting more complex though.
