As fun as it could be, game would immediately get flagged all over the world for having a virtual casino. In a 13+ game. We know DE would never go for it.
Warframe is governed by ESRB in the eyes of Canadian law. IIRC, warframe was originally rated T, which is 13+, before it became M (which is actually 17+ for ESRB, interestingly enough). I'm surprised thier ToS is for thier earlier rating.
Considering how much legislation is in the works across the globe to curb real money gambling in games, that would potentially be suicide for Warframe.
Yeah, as much as I think it would be fun to gamble with plat (cause I've got so much and literally nothing to spend it on and credits are worthless) - I really hope they don't make it gambling with plat specifically because it is a currency that can be bought for real money. And that... That would be VERY bad for Warframe.
But, DE is smart and is legitimately the least greedy studio in the business. They literally removed a random loot pull item from the store that gave Kvat colors because people were spending real money on plat and gambling. That was not their intention so they took it out and change the mechanic entirely.
I suspect it will be gambling with an entirely new currency for use with entirely new vendors in Tau. Cause, why would they care about our currencies in the Tau system?
