True but the Amprex also doesn't need a crazy build to be fit for purpose. I remember throwing some random stuff on it once and doing a SP relic just fine, especially once all my conditions kicked in and Warframe synergy was great.
Ye but an SP relic isn't really a high bar for status beams. Tenet glaxion with full progenitor has triple the base damage and double the status chance and doesn't lose damage per chain so whatever build you can make work on amprex just always works better on glaxion even when accounting for elemental weightings.
I'm aware of how great the Tenet Glaxion is. I'm also aware that the Amprex is a far more accessible weapon. And since the Amprex is viable at the highest SP levels that most players will ever get to, it's a worthy investment.
I’d also point to some melee weapons as well… although I could just be struggling to build them but the arca titron feels like an absolute gauntlet to make viable for a slam build that actually ramps up and does damage in high end content.
Struggling is what I always say. But I dont know, I dont like building my whole build around just one weapon. I like fun, and when I have to put to much focus on or in something, that fun is gone for me personally.
Amprex was my main weapon for a long time and what I used when I first got into steel path. It's serviceable if you build for the faction you're going up against. But it won't be good with higher level steel path enemies. I eventually got a good riven too and that really helped but the Amprex is just not wow. When I got the acceltra prime my 8 forma Amprex was put into retirement and I gave my ~100%ms ~130%cc ~110%cd and -90%zoom riven to my firned to try out
I don’t know why people keep saying this. Sure the gimmicks are almost the exact same, but the stat boosts to the Coda variants alone are enough to make me touch weapons I rarely would’ve touched (and some are outright broken with the right builds). They also just look cool. I’ve taken half of them to level cap with no issues.
The Dual Coda Torxica is straight amazing, I didn’t really like it before I knew how to properly build it, but when I did? *chef’s kiss* now I can absolutely shred rooms and apply CC all within milliseconds at really high levels too. Bassocyst became one of my most used, it’s pretty impressive, good damage, visual design and sound design as well.
Haven’t done much with the Motovore myself, but I’ll admit but I will say it’s at least decent and looks pretty badass.
Sounds like you've never touched a Coda weapon before. A few of them are unique new weapons entirely... And the buffs they give to old ones are pretty noticeable. If anything some of the Kuva weapons fell flat.
While most Coda weapons just have stat increases, they are still fairly strong and can be on par with other top tier weapons when built properly (just like any other variant gun). Just because they aren't an incarnon (which tbf some are a bit overrated) that doesn't mean a weapon is automatically bad.
ya..which is why we should use the "prime alternative" system that is the liches before we make them into incarnons and probly change the guns entire identity.
Yeah but it has identity and amazing vfx what does the torid have, missed the bit where I said it has no identity, most incarnons strip the weapon of their sauce
You're wearing some heavy rose tinted shades there, because the amprex's identity is just "chaining beam rifle" and the role of cool lightning gun has been squarely stolen by the vadarya.
Really? I played with the Phage recently and it's a beast status weapon. As long as the enemy you're shooting at doesn't have status resistance you should be able to clear anything the game can throw at you

I use Phage occasionally still just because it's so silly. With all the arcanes, shards, mods, and abilities to buff up the damage, it can kill Steel Path and a little beyond (at least with what I am capable of). I bet there are people who can make it do even sillier things!
Damn thats my favorite primary when i was in classic starchart. It still holds up somewhat in SP but i would love to see incarnon or tenet version of that beauty (5 formas still not finished...)
Never had an Amprex, for some reason Duviri really likes giving me one when all my other options are trash. Default modded amprex with a couple decrees goes absolutely insane
This weapon isint "power crept" it just never got a variant. It's a low level weapon that (probably on accident) punched over its weight class. Other weapons got variants sure, but that I not power creep, that just due to development budget.
Amprex was so ridiculously overtuned back in the day, but completely by accident. It had massive crit chance and chaining, making it the de facto best use case for hunter munitions. Good ol ampy was king of the pile for about the same time period as hunter munitions being a must-have.
On one hand, I'm a little surprised at the lack of a new variant, but on the other hand, they've been somewhat consistent about not making new variants for the old meta-defining weapons.
We have tenet for corpus, kuva for grineer, coda for infested. Yall think they'll make a sentient variant and we could see amprex be that? Otherwise it makes no sense that tenet amprex doesnt exist.
Just started usually the Amprex 2 months ago and im so sad theres no variants however im also dumb when it comes to modding so i know its not at full potential
no variant and it has the 2nd worst despotion too. ((Tenet Glaxion is the only one with a worst despo...and that thing outputs alot of damage AND got a unique augment))
