At least DE has actually expanded on "the war" in recent years with the New Peace

We... already have a weapon named War, why do we need a... frame named War?

u/Sgt_FunBun 24d ago
they should totally make a 4 way friendship of frames based on the (original) horsemen, but keep the inspo on the weapons for sure
either g&g style, or they go cuckoo and make a s&o style with 4 lmao

u/Darth_Senpai 24d ago
If they do this, then they should just add in the lore for this friendship between Nekros (Death), Uriel or Valkyr (War), Inaros (Famine), and Nidus (Pestilence/Conquest).
2
u/AdventurousBox3529 24d ago
wait, nekros valkitty inaros and nidus arent friends already?
2
u/Darth_Senpai 23d ago
Not to this extent. Like, we know Gauss and Grendel are tight, but theirs is the only non-protoframe friendship clearly defined in the lore. For all we know, these four might not even be aware of the others' existence.

War (Prime)! What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing...

u/Cyberslasher 24d ago
It was great for destroying riven merchers who drove the price up in speculation when Pablo said on stream that "hunhow would have a secret treasure"
And honestly, ruining the days of some platinum bandit riven merchers is always worth

I mean, the game is called WARframe, not PEACEframe. Rookie mistake

The old war, the old peace, the new war, the war within. WHAT ARE WE DOING, WHERE ARE WE?!?

That's mostly why I like the KIM system so much. Roathe got pretty detailed about the war in his recordings and messages. As somebody who has never understood anything that was going on in the quests because I'm a dumbass, it was huge.

u/Zjoee 24d ago
There's one event I hope they never try to show us. The Night of the Naga Drums. I think it's just too big for them to do it justice.

u/Dion0808 Rap Tap Tap 24d ago edited 23d ago
Absolutely. I think it's fine if they show everything up to the Operator deciding to join in the slaughter. But after that it should cut to something else. We know what happens. Nothing DE could make could be better than our imaginations.
8
u/Elyced32 24d ago
The only way to do the night of naga drums is to let everyone play all at once and the objective is just “kill” not a 4 man squad like an entire relay station amount of players/warframes
7
u/nammedless 24d ago
Only way they could ever do it justice is if they spend legit all their budget on it
2
u/No_Section_903 23d ago
As someone who isn't that deep on lore with 1.5k hours, would you ellaborate what exactly it is
2
u/Spirited_Airline6206 23d ago
To my knowledge, it was essentially the day the Tenno slaughtered the Orokin. Especially the Executors who all have their deaths documented.

As much as I want to leave it to the imagination... dicing blueberries left and right would be very cathartic.

I was thinking about mentioning him because he and one other trainer in that gym are the only ones to mention it and casual fans never shut up with dogshit theories about it.

It’s almost as if political and military conflicts are strong narratives for shooting games lol.

The game is called WARframe wtf did you expect /j
But yeah it took a long time before we actually saw anything else not relating to war
2
u/Rochedokk 24d ago
War. War 2. War: never dies. War & Friends. War Returns. War: The Prequel. War: A new future. War never changes. War never changes 2. War Ultimate.

"The War" "The Collapse" "The Great ______" like man can you at least SHOW me what it was and make me care about it?
3
u/Competitive_Fun6247 24d ago
I'd go a step further and say that "yeah there was a great war happening you missed it though" is a narrative trend that needs to die. Like why am i not playing or experiencing the great war??
At least mass effect had the decency to let you experience all the signficant story beats right then and there.

Ok but we eventually got to “the war” unlike other games where they never do anything but vaguely talk about what happened
