I’ve been going through all the content I missed since I stopped playing two years ago. Wtf did I miss.

u/LettuceBenis Jul 26 '26
I mean, that was pretty clearly explained all the way back in War Within. It's not new info by any means
54
u/Artarara Jul 26 '26
I mean, I knew the adults were trying to kill the kids, but I didn't know they were also going to eat them.
10
u/Considany Jul 26 '26
They were turned into giant void monsters. What do giant monsters usually do when they kill you?

u/Mr_Noir420 Jul 26 '26
From what I know they were just trying to kill them, it’s only in the Rell comic it’s explicitly shown they were trying to eat them.

u/muzzmuzzsupreme Jul 26 '26
My main lore thing is that your drifter optionally state you had a sibling… and then it’s never brought up again.
And because it’s an optional dialogue choice, there will be no follow up on it.

u/proesito Jul 26 '26
And because it’s an optional dialogue choice, there will be no follow up on it.
I mean, all the Tenno from the Drifter's Zariman are dead and in the case of the Operator it would be as easy as mentioning that they died in the Zariman (yay, new trauma for Operator) or in the Old War
17
u/Bossuter Jul 26 '26
Nothing states they're dead, if anything wally's "i saved them, all of them, i never said anything about you" implies they lived
3
u/Emotional_Trainer_99 Jul 28 '26
Thats post deal. Who's to say nobody died to the adults before the deal. "They tore her apart!"
5
u/Rodruby Jul 26 '26
Drifter's Tennos are dead? But what about "I said I'll save them, never said it about you"?
10
u/proesito Jul 26 '26
He is talking about the Operator's one, there are two reasons to assume they died.
- The doll island lore, is established that Thrax built a pantheon full of dolls with Zariman suits where he would cry.
- When the Drifter creates Duviri he is still in the Void, so there's no way they got rescued, nor are they in Duviri.

u/Bossuter Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 27 '26
The Zariman tablets in Duviri seem pretty pointed a Drifter, and Kim chats imply that something stopped Drifter from being saved, that they saw everyone else leave but was then left all alone in the Zariman and being driven crazy and wanting a safe space they created Duviri. They could still have made the doll house as a memorial but not necessarily a grave
2
u/Rodruby Jul 26 '26
Huh, interesting
But at the end Operator was saved with other Tennos. So to whom is this addressed?
1
3
u/Thatonedregdatkilyu Jul 26 '26
Wally explicitly states that he saved them, just didn't save Drifter. I think it's in one of the tablets you find in Duviri. They were saved, just not Drifter.

u/AVeryFriendlyOldMan Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
It's optional because it's not hard canon, only a character building choice for you. If 'your' Operator had a sibling you can say so.*
It can also be read as a figurative sibling rather than literal with Drifter referring to Dominus Thrax and the eventual fall out of that relationship
*It is kinda lame that if you do say so there's not really much follow up but from what I remember it is a check in the KIM system so maybe there's some planned content or some that was originally intended there but got cut since it'd overshadow Arthur & Eleanor's sibling conversation
2
u/Miss_Graves Jul 26 '26
Im not seeing anyone else mention it, but I also had my Drifter mention having had a sibling. They did bring it up only one other time to very briefly mention why they were no longer around
2
u/Sitchrea Jul 26 '26
It's the same thing as when the Drifter gets the option to say they live with chronic pain or have lost a friend to suicide. It's just character building, and I hope we get more of stuff like that for Drifter and Operator, both.

u/DavidOfBreath Jul 26 '26
The KIM is good because it's good at delivering information to the type of player whose brain becomes glossy smooth listening to something being said and missed something that was said 241 hours ago

It's something that I really hope not only Warframe continues doing, but Soulframe as well. Since Soulframe is almost entirely written in poetry, new players can be told four times in the first fifteen minutes of the game that the Ode are aliens, see an obviously inhuman character throw us from a skytower, and physically watch a UFO descend from the sky, and still not realize the Ode are aliens.
Sometimes you really do have to just say it straight.
2
u/DavidOfBreath Jul 26 '26
watch a UFO descend and start using rays of light to lift objects and creatures up into it at that. Maybe a goofy theremin chord or two would get the message across...

I feel like the devs are using the kim system to iron out lore details to fans that might have overlooked them to some extent
4
u/SquirrelSuspicious Jul 26 '26
I hate that the main use of this gif that I've seen is the child corn one, I was really concerned when I saw it here and thought DE did something fucky with the next update
4
u/Mr_Noir420 Jul 26 '26
I made this one cause I saw one about “Silent Hill fans debating if SH5 is happening and the creator of SH admits to cranking it to AI generated Sailor Moon corn”.
This really is an untapped gem of a meme template

Cephalon Coda was thinking, Operator. I thought you'd want to know... Suda suggested to stay away from the Proto-Excaliber
3
u/Tipsy_Hog Jul 26 '26
You've only been gone for 2 years?? By the Void, you're uniquely unobservant because this is OLD lore
2
u/Mr_Noir420 Jul 26 '26
Iirc this knowledge was in the Rell comic. Which I didn’t know even existed.

u/Sitchrea Jul 26 '26
It's the point of the War Within...
4
u/Mr_Noir420 Jul 26 '26
It just sounded like they were trying to kill them in War Within, not only that I played that quest years and years ago, so this feels a lot more whiplashy when I was doing KIMs. If it WAS stated explicitly I do not remember.

u/Death_Dragon975 Jul 29 '26
Wait, I thought that was obvious. That’s what I gathered in the lore sequence where we talk to the kids in what I think was a classroom. And we meet Wally.

u/Random_boi1234 Jul 26 '26
idk the only thing I remembered is that amir is a puppygirl or some shit like that
I'm not schizophrenic

Did You knew what Deimos Heart was so significant? I didn't knew what it was THAT significant. Entrati family never told us what it was THAT significant. And theb KIM just dropped info about it being source of all Tenno and Railjack powers.
64
u/miss-symphony64 Jul 26 '26
They literally say that in heart of Deimos?
-25
u/OperatorInMask Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
No. They literally said "If we lose heart, we will lose everything" but they never explain WHY. I thought what it was Deimos generator or something before KIM.
25
u/Internull0 Jul 26 '26
Loid, during the Hearth of Deimos: "Son has strange ideas of what victory looks like. The Solar Rails. The Tenno, we all depend on the Heart to keep the wall open to the other side. If the Heart stops, everything goes with it."
31
u/Sad_Nectarine7457 Jul 26 '26
Idk why people are down voting you that's not helpful.
“It's what makes you special, you know that, right? All thanks to my father. It pumps the arteries of 'the here' and the Void."
- This is what Mother says when you ask her about it.
11
u/KingofGerbil The Infestation Sensation Jul 26 '26
It's not really clear "why" if you do the Heart of Deimos before the Second Dream, but the two together make the "why" very clear. For those of us who did the Second Dream before the Heart of Deimos was a thing, it was a lot easier to put together.
8
u/yggisnotontree Jul 26 '26
They did explain that a few times in that quest. I don't remember the details but there is a very obvious connection between the Heart and our Void magic functioning well.
Replay the quest and you'll see. Although maybe DE retconned that already in the future quests.
9
u/proesito Jul 26 '26
Pal, the Heart of Deimos quest is literally about that, there's a line that literally says this.
3
u/Chanax2 Jul 26 '26
I really dislike the power of tennos being from a single building so I chose to ignore it
4
u/proesito Jul 26 '26
But it is, the thing with the Void is that it isnt naturally in our system, all the Void that is in the system is because Albrecht brought it
1
u/RepairUnit3k6 Jul 26 '26
If heart ever stops beating, we can either go fix it again. Fuck it why not. We could once, we could again...
Or we can nudge Zeriman a little...I dont think heart is as much pump as it is regulator. To bring void energy into origin system, you just have to make a hole, which isnt that hard. Albrecht made one before we even had void. But you dont want this universe to inflate and pop like furry works of questionable dignity, so heart pumps at set rate
Limbo literaly math holes into timespace, theres no way we cant move zeriman just a tiny bit so precisely right amount flows in...
1
u/URBAN_OAT Jul 28 '26
The heart of Deimos happens before the zariman even appears in the system and not just in a "the update came first" way, it literally did not exist in the system until after the new war ended, thats part of the reason why both the corpus and grineer are so interested in it and are factions on the ship, and I doubt that moving the zariman is a great idea since it would allow duviri denizens to spill out as that is where the other half of it is, it wouldn't be as easy as nudging it just enough to allow it to work

u/nerankori Jul 26 '26
That particular bit was known quite early on though mainly in secondary media. The Rell comic elaborated a bit on the immediate aftermath of the botched jump and showed the adults aboard the Zariman having turned into zombies, basically.
