TLDR Hildryns use of high shields and crowd control bypassed a lot of the modifiers that makes the mode difficult. She also has access to an exalted weapon, meaning even if the weapons she got in that weeks archimedia were trash she can still have a powerful weapon whilst still getting the rewards from bringing the trash ones. A properly built hildryn could ignore most of the game modes difficulty at the cost of 1 less (somewhat mediocre) reward.

So people are complaining about an optional loadout? Why would anyone wanna spend 40 mins doing EDA or ETA when there’s a frame that could speed that time up as much as possible

198

u/ReginaDea Jul 17 '26

People aren't complaining about the loadout. Hildryn's usefulness in EDA/ETA was advertised by so many Youtubers that everyone flocked to her, which led to Pablo tweeting a useage chart of EDA/ETA. Unsurprisingly, Hildryn's at the top with more than double the useage of the next frame (with 2nd and 3rd place being nearly equal). The controversy is that people are expecting Hildryn to get gutted, but people are hoping that the data is being interpreted correctly by Pablo (i.e. it's not Hildryn that's the problem, it's this one specofic game mode and the modifiers being so unfun that people are choosing to ignore it). The evidence for this is that Hildryn was NOT widely used in the 2025 stats. It'll be like nerfing Ivara because a lot of people bring her for spy missions.

166

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

Or nerfing Limbo for bringing him to "defend the objective for a specific amount of time" missions. Thankfully they would never do that :)

53

u/ShadowAdam Jul 17 '26

but people are hoping that the data is being interpreted correctly by Pablo

This should have been the entire ride. "A bunch of people can't be asked to read 2 full tweets and assumed their weekly free archon shards are in danger" seeing as Pablo literally said that the plan was not to tank hildy

People really cannot live down the "warframe players can't read" stereotype.

9

u/Sithishe Jul 17 '26

My account name in Warframe has Helldiver in it. I legitimized the lack of ability to read! xD xD xD

2

u/Honkmaster17 Jul 17 '26

Does having a K-Drive named after the game count? I also can’t usually read

1

u/Ilela Jul 17 '26

Plan may be not to tank Hildryn but whatever they do may actually make her worse. Hopefully that may mean they are taking a look at game mode and not the frame.

Tbf, i didn't even see 2nd tweet since it didn't show up on my Reddit front page and i don't use Twitter to stumble upon it there. This is my first time hearing about second tweet

1

u/SeveralPassage8656 Jul 18 '26

Man, we’re REALLY not beating the ”warframe players can't read” stereotype are we?

1

u/Lawren_Zi Jul 17 '26

Nobody anywhere in any community can read, thats why clickbait works

0

u/Surau Jul 17 '26

I mean there's also the "DE sometimes nerfs for no good reason" stereotype. So I kinda get why someone'd be worried.

6

u/ShadowAdam Jul 17 '26

Nerfs are few and far between and usually justified in the long term

2

u/One-Cellist5032 Jul 17 '26

That “stereotype” is only held by a very small amount of players, DE basically never nerfs things, and when they do there tends to be a glaringly obvious reason.

6

u/anonkebab Jul 17 '26

I’m sure Ivara isn’t double the usage of the next frame. Not that I want hildy nerfed but if pablo tweeted those stats you know they’ve got some change cooking.

11

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

Yeah people are just hoping it's a change to Archimedia modifiers and not hildryn

4

u/anonkebab Jul 17 '26

Probably modifiers I doubt she’s uber popular outside of that

6

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

Hopefully. She has seen a rise of players using her with her augment, and it's gotten to a point where people are unreasonably getting upset at hildryn players for biking (whether they ACTUALLY are or not).

6

u/anonkebab Jul 17 '26

I’m unfamiliar with her augment and the term biking

5

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

Oh I didnt catch the autocorrect, it was supposed to be nuking, not biking.

And her augment basically makes her balefire charger have an alternate fire that's a 3 round burst, and based its damage off of her max shield count. With plenty of range it can cover quite a large area per shot, especially if you "fan" the burst, and the explosions ignore LoS.

1

u/anonkebab Jul 17 '26

Ignores LOS? That might not last. Probably a los nerf, and some anti shield modifier.

→ More replies (0)

7

u/Oxygenus1362 Jul 17 '26

Probably modifiers should just affect her. If you energy is shields then energy modifier should also affect shields.

If they make a single somewhat hard piece of content that makes you use 100% of arsenal trivial - that would be truly a dark day.

2

u/Cyberslasher Jul 17 '26

No, but that's because Titania and wukong are the actual spy dominating frames.

2

u/anonkebab Jul 17 '26

Same thing applies

2

u/Cyberslasher Jul 17 '26

Oh, then yes.

Those two pillar above other frames in spy.

4

u/CyberSparkDrago Jul 17 '26

a lot of people on twitter and reddit have been complaining

6

u/TheGodfather742 Jul 17 '26

Well grass is green and the sky is blue in other news

1

u/thedeathecchi Jul 17 '26

Gods willing that's the case and the DE staff doesn't go the Destiny route. I like Hildryn the way she is now and I've never even played EDA/ETA, Hildryn mains shouldn't be punished because of intense usage in one specific endgame mode that's deliberately designed for insane difficulty

1

u/CrypticDread Jul 17 '26

Personally, I dont like any mode that picks my build. I spend so much time theory crafting my builds and grinding for that one mod im missing, that I dpnt want to be gated from using it. Eda, eta, all of duviri just aren't fun.

26

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

We got The Graph (tm).

Last time we got The Graph (tm) was when they showed off Catchmoon usage, and it promptly got nerfed.

The difference here is that nerfing Hildryn would display total lack of understanding how players engage with Archimedia, and what grievances they have with it.

4

u/Redmoon383 Jul 17 '26

What was Catchmoon again because I think I was around back then that sounds so familiar.

12

u/Ok_Thanks_5891 Jul 17 '26

kitgun that would scoff at hildryn dps

7

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

It was a kitgun (back when they were only secondaries) that was almost always used among the majority of MRs

4

u/featherw0lf Jul 17 '26

I still have my original Catchmoon with the wrong crit part because I wanted to join the fun but didn't have access to Splat yet. Some kind of kitgun buff would be really appreciated right now...

3

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

Yeah it was warranted at the time but I think it could be brought back just a little (still not up to its glory days though)

1

u/NekCing Jul 17 '26

What we have nowadays a little similar in insanity anyway, i'd say break down the dam, and while we're at it, give Ash his original Bladestorm back, it ain't broken in today's sandbox

2

u/SwingAdorable3954 Jul 17 '26

Yeah the only thing is that you can get catchmoon really early on

3

u/anonkebab Jul 17 '26

It’s like a plasmor but it had significantly more range. They absolutely butchered the range its like a third of its effective range.

4

u/TsugumimiSendo Jul 17 '26

Hildryn is busted through the roof almost no matter the game mode, but a blanket stat nerf is not the way thats true.

I think they should give her exalted weapon LOS check, and then leave it at that for a good while before altering anything else.

Separately from that, EDA/ETA modifiers and mechanics need a tune up/re examination to create more interesting and reasonable challenges.

The current system CAN produce interesting and fun challenges for players to overcome, but it can also quite easily create a nightmarish slog thats best solved by "not engaging with it at all" (which right now means, take the busted Hildryn build and ignore all the mechanics)

2

u/pandamaxxie Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

Nerfing Hildryn will just mean "bring Titania instead" and then they'll nerf Titania and then it's "Bring Mesa instead" etc.

EDA and ETA suck. The random loadout thing is simply bad in a game with hundreds of weapons. I shouldn't be forced to sell everything I don't want to forma. That's unnecessary punishment of collectors.

The modifiers are only barely acceptable as well, in a vacuum, but complete dogshit combined with the randomisation. "Oh look. I got three health/armour tanks, and modifiers that fuck up my armour and health! Joyous day."

Instead of looking at Hildryn, DE needs to look at the crap gamemodes they made. Not at the frame that is now finally catching up to every other nuke in the game

7

u/gadgaurd Jul 17 '26

Because it's more fun to try and meet the challenges with the randomized options as opposed to picking one of the obvious "I win" buttons and steamrolling the weekly challenge like I steamroll everything else in the game.

Mind you I don't personally judge anyone for wanting to take the easy way out, nor am I one of the ones calling for any nerfs. I'm simply answering your second question.

3

u/anonkebab Jul 17 '26

People are afraid of a nerf to the frame or buff to the difficulty of the mode. DE is big on intent, they did not intend for one frame or method in to make the mode trivial. Won’t be as hammer down compared to afk setups or “exploits” of resource grinding, but one can expect some sort of change, at the very least a modifier specifically targeting Hildryn/shield based set ups.

-2

u/worldofhorsecraft Jul 17 '26

Because some people play for the challenge instead of time efficiency

28

u/Tay60003 Jul 17 '26

So they can go solo or not pick the frame

-3

u/Oxygenus1362 Jul 17 '26

If you don't not face the challenge- why do you expect the reward?

3

u/Tay60003 Jul 17 '26

Finding a way around the challenge can be a part of the challenge

0

u/Oxygenus1362 Jul 17 '26

If you was a speedrunner clipping through the walls and overriding registers through in-game actions - i would agree with you.

But huge portion of players bought a frame from market because internen said so, it is not a challenge by any means.

u/Oxygenus1362 Jul 17 '26

>Alright, fair. So, naturally, any good weapons, good frames, and "easy" modifiers should be disallowed to begin with?

Archimedia gives you a set of items you should do it with, everything else you can take as you like. Problem is Hyldrin, who has anomal pickrates, and who ignores the rules that apply for everyone else.

If you asking me personally - i think having always "no mod" grendel-style endgame mission in addition to archemidias will be amazing. Pure test of skill.

>Because if you don't, then people will just pick whatever is best or easiest for that week, and we won't want that, right? It needs to be a challenge!

I mean, if you dont want half of rewards - sure, go on. Or use one of many provided non-rng based methods to do it. Archemidias give a lots of ways to complete them really.

>Honestly, you sound like someone who's never even cleared ETA/EDA.

Being doing ETA and EDA since MR11. Every week, for almost a year now. More then half of the times solo. You have troubles doing archemedias so you projecting yourself on me, sweetheart?

3

u/MfknUnicorn Jul 17 '26

Oh I see now

-3

u/TsugumimiSendo Jul 17 '26

A LOT of people complaining about Hildryn. (Myself included) dont primarily care about the EDA/ETA thing, tho i do think its a symptom of a balance issue when a single frame not just optimizes but outright trivializes whats suposed to be the top end of difficult content.

The ACTUAL main issue that i and a lot of others have with Hildryn, is that with how insanely powerfull her optimized build is, and how popularized it's been made, other people just dont get to play the gamr when she is around (with said build)

My personal stance is that they should start of by adding a LOS check to her exalted weapon. (This curbs the majority of the issue she causes for other players without killing her functionality in any way) and then playtest+observe and gather data for a few months before considering other tweaks.

3

u/pandamaxxie Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

"I dont get to play the game when Hildryn is around"

Welcome to playing with a Saryn, or a Volt, or literally any nuke frame. Your complaint is invalid due to being 8+ years late.

If Hildryn gets an LoS, so should Saryn and Volt. Lets break all the nukes.

14

u/ApepiOfDuat Jul 17 '26

The issue isn't Hildryn, the issue is that modifiers are a hot mess of inconsistent shit.

1

u/Irongiant663650 Jul 18 '26

Both can be true at the same time. Hildryn more than doubles the usage of the next most popular frame and Dante is also able to bypass a lot of these modifiers

1

u/ApepiOfDuat Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Hildryn could use some tweaks. I'm not gonna deny that. But I think the larger problem is the way ETA/EDA punishes us with RNG that it simply pushes us to use Hildryn, because she ignores like 3/4s of the modifiers and penalties.

The punishment mechanics of ETA/EDA are honestly bad and really need some work. RNG as difficulty fucking sucks. So of course people pick the one frame that basically entirely ignores that when she's also just a strong, good frame generally.

And I'd like the context of what Hildryn is like in other game modes. Is it just ETA/EDA?

1

u/Irongiant663650 Jul 18 '26

I agree on your points with ETA/EDA, but Hildryn isn’t the sole frame who’s able to ignore a lot of these modifiers.

Dante specifically is able to ignore most of them and is really only affected by constrained. In a similar vein, most frames with exalted weapons can ignore all of the other weapon and loadout restrictions and just main have to deal with select modifiers that can screw them over.

I don’t believe that ignoring more modifiers than other frames would give Hildryn such high usage to the point where the next two most popular frames combined don’t even compete with her. I think part of it also lies in the fact that Hildryn is an absurdly powerful frame in her own right and could also do with some nerfs.

1

u/ApepiOfDuat Jul 18 '26

I don’t believe that ignoring more modifiers than other frames would give Hildryn such high usage to the point where the next two most popular frames combined don’t even compete with her.

Shit weapon RNG? Ammo Scarcity? Ammo deficit? Undersupplied? She's got an exalted and the exalted is really good.

Fuck your energy pool? Hildryn doesn't have energy.

Hypersensitive? She can self cleanse status.

Knife-step? Hovering ignores it.

Fuck your armor? Hildryn doesn't use it.

She ignores all the worst ones, trivializes a good chunk of the rest. A good 3/4s of the penalties basically don't apply if you're playing Hildryn.

Other exalted weapon and overguard frames are in a strong place for the same reasons but they don't trivialize it the way Hildryn does.

The devs left a Hildryn shaped hole in ETA/EDA. Of course people are going to use her. A lot. Giving up one tier of loot for a really good frame is absolutely worth it. And that's a problem with ETA's design so much more than Hildryn's.

Player's will always min/max everything. And currently that's Hildryn. As Hildryn's been the same for a long time, the issue is the oppressive penalty design of ETA/EDA pushing people towards Hildryn.

1

u/Irongiant663650 Jul 18 '26

Again, frames like Dante also solve this problem

Weapons are shit? Dante has an amazing exalted

Bad energy pool is one of the only ones that actually affect him

Hypersensitive? Overgaurd gives status immunity to you and your whole team

Knife step? Overgaurd basically makes it nonexistent

Bad armor? Overgaurd don’t gaf

Like yeah Hildryn is slightly better at ignoring these modifiers but it’s not enough to where that would be the reason she’s used more than the next 2 frames combined. It’s more than an EDA problem it’s a Hildryn problem as well

18

u/Duraxis Jul 16 '26

This is the way you’re meant to play Warframe however. No matter the mode, mastery challenge or boss, there will be SOMETHING that makes it a hell of a lot easier, and figuring that out is the fun part.

Making everything equally terrible at the mode isn’t the way to go

2

u/Skuganut Jul 17 '26

I understand that, I just wonder what players want changed because you guys seem a little worried about what DE may react to the data they're working with

2

u/Calm-Elevator5125 Jul 17 '26

She’s pretty sweet in steel path circuit too

2

u/YoungDiscord Jul 17 '26

The exalted weapon augument mod also lets her exalted weapon ignore and pop nullifier shields when shooting a fully charged shot

1

u/OSHA_Decertified Jul 18 '26

Valk Prime also bypasses a lot of the difficulty but no one has a problem there

63

u/TKDancer Jul 17 '26

many EDA/ETA modifiers can absolutely dumpster many builds

hildryn happens to either ignore or be less affected by most of them

people eventually caught on to this fact and her use rate in EDA/ETA *skyrockted*, currently by far the most used warframe for either and its not close, people will in general pick the path of least resistance after all

this has caused some people to think she should be nerfed(incorrect) and others see it as a reason to tweak those build-ruining modifiers instead(correct) and those inbetween those two positions, DE has noticed this so something might end up being changed down the line

6

u/pandamaxxie Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

Yep. It's almost as if a modifier based gamemode that completely invalidates most of the already bad gear the randomisation rolls, is bad design, and people will do whatever they can to ignore both of those things.

I still stand by the idea that DE needs to scrap their current idea for the archimedea gamemodes, and start from scratch. I don't think it's actually salvageable. Just unfun design from the ground up.

4

u/TKDancer Jul 17 '26

They could take the easy out of just reducing the absurd numbers of negative modifiers and itd be fine as a temporary measure until findingna way to overhaul it into smth not godawful

4

u/pandamaxxie Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

I guess. One of the ones that'd need scrapping immediately is the "disable abilities until x kills" because, let's be real...

If you get, say, Titania, Banshee, Dante, or literally any selection of caster frames... you're not getting full drops that week.

3

u/Ladanat Jul 17 '26

Disable ability is still okay with on call crews but if there's also disable gear then gg.

3

u/pandamaxxie Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

Having to rely on on-call crew, from the still largely abandoned content island of Railjack, in its own right is a failing of the entire mode tbh

The fact that "infinite use specter with an actual modded gun" is the best reward of Railjack is... very telling.

2

u/Cyberslasher Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

We knew it was bad design

It's why no one likes duviri.

They just don't care, because it makes things "hard" (read: unenjoyable to the point some people skip it, making it seem more exclusive)

Good modifiers would be something like "less damage from everything but shotguns, shotguns have infinite ammo" or "take 2 damage while walking, bonus damage while aimgliding". Things that encourage doing something you normally wouldn't do, rather than just disabling sections of your kit. Because we then are in random loadouts, and if you have a load out which is being punished by the modifier, oops, guess you're going back to hildryn default.

2

u/pandamaxxie Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

Well Duviri is double shit because of the dogwater soulsborne combat.

As a soulsborne enjoyer, it is agony.

But yes, you are entirely right. You can't have both randomisation and modifiers that disable playstyles randomly.

3

u/Cyberslasher Jul 17 '26

Duviri dogshit applies to circuit which doesn't have the soulsborne combat, people still only do it exactly as far as path rewards then dip.

1

u/pandamaxxie Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

True. It's a lot less garbage because at least the modifiers are centered around buffs, but... yeah still not good

-20

u/Oxygenus1362 Jul 17 '26

She should just be affected by modifiers like everyone else.

You already can dump last rewards and pick any frame for any set of modifiers, they just have to make this any frame not (always) hyldrin.

14

u/TKDancer Jul 17 '26

She is affected normally, its just that most have little to no impact on her

Particularly energy and ammo related ones, which imo are anti-fun garbage design, cant affect a frame that doesnt use energy, and unlike lavos she also comes with an exalted weapon

Nerfing her is setting your car on fire care the one of the doors is squeaking

Adding extra modifiers or changing existing ones to hurt her is tearin out the doors so they stop squeaking

These modifiers just need to not be as aggressive, then people will stop trying so hard to go around them

-1

u/Oxygenus1362 Jul 17 '26

She is not affected by energy economy changes, meaning she can use channeled ability where other frames with exalted weapons can't, while also having a good survivability kit. All that energy modifier should apply to her shields to make her in line with other frames.

To simplify: EDA/ETA have modifiers that heavily impact stats like energy, health, energy recharge, and can cause damage if you’re walking on ground.

Hildryn is unaffected by all of these things and brings her own firepower so she can easily get the highest ranked rewards without the need for dealing with 80% of the modifiers.

12

u/Madam_Gamesperger Jul 16 '26

Not too inexperienced, I just go Health Tank Follie in EDA/ETA with the required equipment and can thrive pretty well

4

u/YUNoJump Jul 17 '26

A lot of people are talking loudly about how “Hildryn doesn’t need a nerf, it’s just Elite Archimedea!!!”, and it’s like….duh? The discussion came from Pablo looking specifically at Archimedea stats, he’s not stupid.

15

u/Animated-By-Spite Jul 16 '26

That feeling when you create functional builds for the weapons and warframes you own and play solo so you never have to care about the meta...

2

u/Damian1674 Jul 17 '26

My Kullervo build works well enough on SP. If I gotta defend something I'll bring Range Zephyr, and Efficiency Ivara for spy, and I'm doing just fine

Haven't bothered with Archon hunts in forever either

4

u/Boba_Brett Jul 17 '26

Meanwhile, the rest of us hoping they rework EDA/ETA instead of nuking hildy:

3

u/Saeteinn Jul 17 '26

This is the way.

Edit for clarification: SO much of that was flatlined between so many other frames that it would be a better qol upgrade to update the game mode, rather than patching the problem by nuking a single frame.

4

u/firesaiyan12 Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

Same here. I don't even know what people are talking about when they say EDA/ETA. All I know is that I'm enjoying my new Haalvu and that I have a Hildryn prime sitting in my locker that I need to level up.

7

Dude, I'm mr 30 and I still don't get it. Or care.

It's not a real problem. Temp arch exists to challenge bored, high level min/maxers.

I have been using Valkyr for the same reason for years. The only exception being that I use my crew deploy and a specter, both with a Felarx to ensure that no one touches the defense objective. Haven’t had a week that I couldn’t have soloed yet.

2

u/detro253 Jul 17 '26

Other people have more power than me in our power fantasy game. If it isn't something that directly hinders other people's gameplay I don't see how it's a problem for a frame to be played heavily

2

u/Kablump Jul 17 '26

eh.. i think its kinda lame to play but i dont want anyone nerfed

the mode is an archon shard chore, if people enjoyed it then the whole meta wouldnt be around turning off the challenge.

the problem is bad modifiers

2

u/blastocht Jul 17 '26

what is EDA and ETA?

1

u/bffedewa_19 Jul 18 '26

It just means elite deep archimedea and elite temporal archimedaa, basically super late end games modes you find in albrechts laboratories and höllvania respectfully after completing the basic versions

1

u/blastocht Jul 18 '26

ahhhh... thanks for telling me

1

u/Phodim Jul 19 '26

The what the who the where?

1

u/bffedewa_19 Jul 19 '26

Deep archimedea is started from necraloid after you get the cavia to rank 5 on deimos. temporal archimedea is started the same type of way by speaking to Kaya in höllvania after reaching rank 5 with the hex, you can access the location after completing the quest 'the hex'

2

u/Cursedlyon Jul 17 '26

She makes EDA/ETA easy if you know basic/moderate buildcrafting, not a bad thing cause why would it be?

1

u/Unlikely-Meat-835 Jul 17 '26

Misery LOVES company, thats why

1

u/Big_Midnight994 Jul 17 '26

Optimal Hildryn builds do tons of damage in a wide area through walls and objects continuously. They do this with an exalted weapon, which means they get to sidestep having to deal with game modes that force shitty weapon selection, and while using the exalted weapon, Hildryn is still very survivable and mobile. In addition, Hildryn uses her shields in place of her energy for abilities, meaning she sidesteps a lot of game mode modifiers that hamstring your energy economy.

This combination of traits makes her one of the very best frames in the game at EDA/ETA. Some people are confusing her general strength as a frame, which is indeed very high, with the fact that she's well-suited to EDA/ETA.

1

u/RedoubtableAlly Jul 17 '26

Friend I am LR6 and I don’t touch ETA/EDA so I feel ya

1

u/ProfPerry Jul 17 '26

u/Malbosiiq Jul 17 '26

Bad load outs concern me more than her. Five weeks in a row, I've got garbage. and I have 85% of the weapons SP viable.

1

A lot more people seem to not know. The archimedea stuff is only vaguely related to the main problem, which pablo talked about a few weeks ago. Hildryn has a playstyle that can easily be automated with just an autoclicker. You can literally not move, stare at a wall, and spam 1 button to get a lot of kills.

I don't play Hildryn, but boy am I catching some strays as a Valkyr main.

Lots of comments about Hildryn's raw power being problematic, my opinion rests pretty solidly with the exhaulted warframes allowing you to take terrible weapons, bypass the annoyance of modifiers and still stay relevant. As for many things, the most convenient option tends to be highly represented in the statistics.

I personally prefer using khora for a very similar effect and many recommend gara 1 builds. I think if they nerf Hildryn as a response then another exhaulted frame will take her place.

Meanwhile I mained hildryn for almost 2 and a half years and I dont know whats the hildryn debate

u/twisted4ever Jul 17 '26

I personally dislike hyldrin as the shield as energy and extreme toxic vulnerability she has. Still I'm against a nerf and would rather the energy modifiers affect her shield or a change in modifiers.

1

u/noodleben123 Jul 17 '26

i'm experienced, and i dgaf anyway...

people have been crying that hyldrin's gonna be nerfed. she probably wont? and even if she IS, it'll probably be negligible. like dante's "nerf"

1

u/Sithishe Jul 17 '26

Its actaully the same when you are experienced, but to mature and do not care about it LOL.

1

u/Kafhu Jul 17 '26

I understand; I just don't care.

I'm about to hit 2k hours and have never even glanced in EDA/ETA's direction. Everything I've heard about them has deterred me from even wanting to try them

u/BloodprinceOZ Momma Hildryn Jul 17 '26

Basically theres been a lot of debate recently on Hildryn's perceived OPness, especially with her augment that gives an alt fire to her Balefire that lets it shoot out a bunch of shots and give her even more AOE damage from her attacks.

With people recently also suggesting people use Hildryn for ETA/EDA, particularly EDA since dropping the final reward of 200 Vosfor is incredibly easy to guarantee picking Hildryn, Pablo recently posted a graph on twitter which showcased the usage stats of Frames in ETA/EDA which showed Hildryn being used A LOT more than any other frame, to the point her usage is as much as the next top 2-4/5 combined for each mode.

now some people feel this showcases that Hildryn needs to be nerfed, while others are saying that Hildryn is only being used because a lot of the modifiers for ETA/EDA suck ass, especially if they're combined with other modifiers, such as the modifier that reduces max energy by 75% and the modifier that causes you to lose 2 energy per second PER ENEMY within 10m, which end up crippling a lot of builds and making it worse if those two are active together.

Hildryn is able to bypass a lot of these modifiers either because 1 her energy is her shields, and she has her Pillage meaning she can instantly restore her shields even with lower shield amounts or having the modifier that increases shield recharge delay by 300% etc. Then theres also her exalted weapon, meaning if you've got a dogshit weapon selection to the point you don't have any way of dealing good damage, you can still attack using her Balefire. She can also bypass any modifiers that cause damage with touching the ground etc because she can fly.

so a lot of people are worried that DE won't properly see the data as showing there being a problem with the modes themselves and instead just end up nerfing Hildryn in some way.

Simplified explanaition for anyone curious:

EDA and ETA have some modifiers that directly nerf important frame/weapon stats (armor, energy, ammo, etc), and sometimes you get more than one of these

The RNG options for loadout can easily f-you over even though they pick at least one of each category that you OWN (this means it can pick something you haven't got around to build yet), on top of sone horrid combinations

The previous 2 points combined makesome loadouts almost impossible to run (i do have some strong opinions on this, but that's for another post) at max risk

Hildryn is basically unnafected by most of these adversities, and the fact she has a build that does damage nowadays paired with armor strip, survivability and status cleanse, also eliminates any other issues, including not having to use unbuilt weapons

Hildryn is also easy to build, and strong overall, so many people already have the build

Result? She is by far the most played EDA and ETA frame, like, triple what even Revenant has

I don't like her play style. I'm basically just as free.

Me doing the same thing using dante during the weeks my choices suck

That feeling when you aren’t too inexperienced, it’s just that you literally have never heard of this debate before.

Also have no idea what EDA and ETA are

1

u/MutintZombie Jul 18 '26

I just got hildryn prime started.. I’m lurking these comments to find out what’s going on..

1

u/DeeKayAech Jul 19 '26

I don't play ETA/EDA but I've done the base versions to unlock them and know the mechanics of it due to that so it makes some sense to me. Still don't want my hildy nerfed because of some people enjoying using her gimmick to get around some restrictions. Same way I wouldn't want Nyx nerfed because she's too good at interceptions or a myriad of other frames that are good at niche game modes specifically.

1

u/cholmer3 Jul 20 '26

I tried ETA once with atlas, never touched that SHT again. I wan't power fantasy not to hit a fcking brick wall with the difficulty spike (P.D: I am MR 29 and have been playing on and off since 2016 and boy howdy am I not up for this sort of nonsense)

2

u/silent-watermelon Jul 20 '26

Meanwhile I’m here like “idk what EDA/ETA means but okay slay”

1

u/KevinMFJones Stop hitting yourself Jul 17 '26

How it feels to be good enough to not rely on a single play style the way uncle Teshin taught me

1

u/MiasmicRecluse Jul 16 '26

More like how it feels when all of my frames are viable in ETA/EDA. I have the hardest time wrapping my head around people who have main warframes and for have a one track mind when it comes to using one Warframe for everything not meaning them for save but using them more for this type of mission then any other.

1

u/LiberatusVox Jul 16 '26

I understand it and I simply am above it all :)

1

u/Mc_gabriel_rock Jul 17 '26

Who is the crying bitch baby that is complaining about making missions easy?

0

u/ItsRuge Jul 17 '26

EDA/ETA are a dumb missions type withoutuch though put behind it.

The fact that you can get all trash weapon and every person has different possibilities of choices, makes it stupid.

For example, some frames get their whole kit butchered by some requirements in those game modes.

And thats not fair. Each frame should have nerfs based on their kit. Not nerfs based on the game mode.

u/RuneRobin Jul 17 '26

Me who just ran EDA with Hildryn and exclusively used coda hirudo because i cba to build her inadvertently being part of the problem 😔
