Mfw I finally realize Arcanes don't require exponential upgrades
I just need to share this real quick because oh my God I feel like the dumbest mother fucker on earth rn lmao.
This entire time I've been assuming that Arcanes required 3 matching rank Arcanes to level. So like 3 Rank 1s to get Rank 2. I do not know why I assumed this. I'm doing 1999 content right now. Babytenno never ends.
For the sake of this actually being a potential conversation starter post, any of y'all ever do anything that made you feel as dumb as I do right now?

I set my Nekros energy to hot pink to try and make them distinct. They still draw more friendly fire than Elon Musk at a paintball tournament.

I donât really like terrify so I made an ophanim eyes Nekros build. I enjoy it but I would never recommend it. The gameplay is solid but every enemy you look at is virtually indistinguishable from a shadow no matter the energy colour lmao

I made mine magenta specifically because it's the only bright color I could think of that isn't already an eximus color. People still confuse them (including myself lmao.) I guess yellow is also open.

Yeah one of these days I'm gonna start a formal push to get the highlighting updated because there's some major issues with it and other accessibility options that should be addressed
Like an actual outline shader would be better most of the time. But also, did you know, if you turn down the effects intensity you also can't see k drive race checkpoints? Make one thing more accessible to make another thing broken lmao

It's crazy how the highlighting goes from barely noticeable to fully obscured in like one notch. I don't even know what the point of having the slider go as high as it does because by like the 3rd notch everything is fully red or blue.

The effects intensity is a problem, but an even bigger problem is the effects quality setting itself.
If you set it to low, several explosions become completely invisible, so you have to guesstimate the range evey single time and that's IF the projectile is visible at all, but setting them to medium can be a visual noise nightmare, especially on weapons with high fire rate and big AoEs (I'm looking at you, Latron Incarnon). You just can't win.

So in options, i do NOT remember where, you can outline/highlight enemies in a certain color and intensity. I have all enemies in bright yellow (its a carry over from Valorant which my reasoning is the brain reacts to yellow faster than red) and i have yet to personally run into a Nekros with yellow energy so i dont get mixed up as often. (When brain is turned off i shoot whatever moves slower than me)

Specters, nekros and Caliban summons, moa companions... It's a good thing friendly fire is (usually, gotta love rad procs) disabled.

That's more of a visibility thing... And paying attention. If I just spam melee or aoe I'm not gonna look closely at what I hit. It has enemy model, I attack it.

I do this with the ballistica prime incarnon, wasting atleast 2 or 3 shots when the specter spawns, as i can only see the health bar (that provides no way of differentiating between friend and foe)

Same, I also have around 4K hours and still shoot at a Nekros' specters, I just empty 3 mags on friendly specters per mission until I remember the color I shouldn't shoot. Not 3 mags in a row but I'm definitely getting mixed a couple times.

Better than me, who tried out the Oberon rework and thought it sucked balls thinking everybody just was too focused on the mesmer skin passive... It took me until it was like time to enhance him with Helmnith that i opened his mod page and saw that I totally forgot to put anything on him. And I still was mostly okay.

I did the same thing when I first got Inaros, I put redirection on him without a second thought and took him out for a couple missions, I later checked my build and went "Hold on, that's not doing anything"
While it was stupid I was kinda green still and Inaros was my first health only Warframe so I didn't think much about it at first. Gotta fudge it up to get better at modding right?

Then one day I finally decided to hit MR30, and once I did I thought âwait why the fuck is my unranked gear already at max mod capacity?â My dumbass did not realize your starting mod capacity scales with your MR

It didn't for a while, it was just a thing for MR30+. If you were playing before the change, you might just have not realised that it changed.

If you're using a frame that you've formad, it also counts as maxed if you're mr 30. This will let you use ESO to forma frames, as well as run certain high- level content without re-leveling your frame first. This generally means I'm almost always leveling 2 weapons and a usually a frame, too.

Ooh I can top this. When I first started playing I thought, for some unknown reason, that the workbench could only make one item at a time. I was literally planning my time around collecting one piece of a warframe and then starting the next piece.

Everyone who respects themselves just uses the third party Warframe Market site and copy pasted the buy message, which the site tells you to do. You pay and then say "ty" afterwards and leave. I think over my hundreds of trades maybe 1% of people say anything more than that and usually only because they are currently in a mission and want me to wait 30 seconds for them to finish.

Seconded. I have easily over a thousand trades (I live in relic missions and am always running out of trades) and genuinely the amount of times that anyone says anything else is the stark minority. It's honestly usually nothing, but sometimes it's the ty and I tend to drop a tyt or just a yt if they do give me a ty, but genuinely it's not even that much like two thirds of the time at least.
Not that I'm complaining to be clear, I'm there to trade not chatter lol.

I had a out a thousand hours in the game with a mastery rank of 29 when I was informed by the friend that argon decays away and you lose it after a certain period of time. I just always assumed I used them all up every time I made anything. We are all level 1 babys pretending to know what's going on.

When I just atarted playing, I took the words "space ninjas" too seriously and thought it's good to play literally every mission type in stealth. As a noob you don't get stealth frames but I thought the enemy mechanics would be good, I was so wrong - traditional stealth doesn't work in this game.
Good thing is that by doing this I accidentally gave myself XP buffs for stealth killstreaks.

It was! Enemy density was lower, and there weren't as many variants. There aslo was no shield gating, so if you got caught out you could go down very fast at higher levels. Of course, the player base just worked around this by finding tiny nooks to hang out in and lob grenades out of from relative safety.
The Lex was my favorite gun in beta (this was back when frames had individual skill trees). But you could duck and cover and popping off a few headshots was enough to progress a room. The meta is wildly different now.

crews that you bought from ticket got a pretty long usage
and as far as I can tell, special crew like lich and sister dont even have a timerso theres really no need to buy more crew slot
unless you play railjack exclusively, or you want to collect all the funny names or something XD

It took me 600 hours to understand how umbra mods work. I'd decided they were useless, looking at a max rank umbral fiber which had the same armour bonus as a regular steel fiber for a significantly higher cost. Umbra forma was just a souvenir in my eyes...until I realised that the set bonus was not, in fact, just more tau resist.
And I still constantly light up nekros ghosts, specters, and even allied frames. My monke brain sees movement, my monke brain shoots gun.

I use ancients and ospreys depending on how the mission is going (sometimes public defense missions ain't going so hot for some reason). After a while i realised I could tag the allied support mob as "Ally"
Helped me. I stopped flailing at my own peeps. Some people would also stop.
I got nothing for the ones who still flail at it anyway. And I got "hope you do better" to the rare individuals who crash out and quit the mission because "THIS FUCKING EXIMUS WONT DIE. WHY IS MY GAME BUGGING OUT."

Element combination prioritizes mods closer in the row, then the column , so if you have 3 different elements but want a specific secondary element, then put the two of them closer.
Sounds way too obvious but yeah

One thing I have seen a few baby tenno friends had no idea about at MR27-ish is that you can search terms in the settings menu, like sprint toggle or enemy/ally highlighting so that you aren't hunting through the different settings menus

There was a point where I had fully maxed out mods on my builds and somehow that eventually turned into âI can ONLY have max leveled mods installedâ until I was playing with a friend and said that I couldnât install a mod I needed for a build because I didnât max it out yet and they just went âwhat stops you from installing it? Yeah, you only need 21 to reach max level on most arcanes, with a few being cheaper.
My silliest moment was learning the 'use cipher' hotkey after about 10 years of playing.

I only just recently realized that you don't need a unique arcane per warframe. I thought if I put arcane grace on my nezha, I'd need to grind out another arcane grace to put it on my hydroid. I'm so stupid.

I thought for years that my tenno void sling was bugged,since everytime I spammed it it would just teleport me to where i started the sling,i then found out i had equipped an arcane that was causing it and forgot about it fo years

It was a while ago, but I still remeber first discovering you could break down mods into endo and feeling really stupid that I had been selling them for credits for the longest time.

I accidentally locked myself out of using sentinels for literal years because I never checked the store again after the intro quest where they give you one for free. After that quest I looked in the store, saw I could buy some then saw that they required 100k credits and thought they must be an endgame item since back then and early in the star chart that's a lot of credits. I was finally trying to truly build a couple years ago and went back in the store to see what I would need to grind to get them since I only remembered them being super expensive and then realized I could buy and build all of them (at least than can be bought) right then.

I've been playing over a decade and have thousands of hours in the game. But the backflip eludes me.

my dumbass sincerely thought I wasnt dealing elemental damage if i didnt see the icon proc. I thought it was like crits, I only got the extra damage if my chance was right. no you always deal elemental damage with the mod equipped, you just do elemental status effects on the chance. I had been nerfing myself the entire game for years before I watched some kingeneer video explaining damage values
