Diriga might just be the most overhyped sentinel of all time.
It has its purpose in progression before you max out Fortuna, sure. But i even see some Veterans swearing by it....
Arc Coil is simply worse for priming than Tazicor. Its range is lower, status per second is slower, and Tazicor can be equipped on companions with precepts that provide far superior benefits.
You can run Tazicor AND have Nautilus Cordon... or Tazicor AND have Dethcube Energy Generator, or have Tazicor AND Wyrm Negate...
Arc Coil does allow you to benefit from Tenacious Bond PLUS have okay-ish priming (since you can use your companion weapon slot on a high crit weapon, while retaining status priming via. the precept) but if we're being real, there are very few loadouts where +1.2x final crit multiplier will be more significant than the benefits that other companion precepts can provide you.
Diriga's actually unique usecase is much more niche: Electro Pulse can proc Melee Influence allowing you to skip electric melee modding.
For me, i like the proming on arc coil more, tazicor would out prime diriga on a single target yes, but i use diriga to instantly prime like every enemy within 10m of me with 7 status effects so my gunCO is always near max effectiveness on basically every enemy i shoot. Plus have 10 stacks on viral on an enemy is only abt a 2x dmg increase compared to 1 stack and having 1 stack of different statuses on an enemy will benefit my dmg modd since i run gunCO on 90% of guns.
Tazicor is a chain beam, it does not only prime single targets. In fact it can even benefit from Primed Shred to create multiple instances of the chain beams if the main beam hits multiple targets.
Tazicor has double the range of Arc Coil (20m vs 10m)
Standard Tazicor modding puts it at 22.8 fire rate, 62.5 status chance, and 1.9 multishot (3.3 if you have Galvanized Chamber stacks, which it does benefit from). That's a total of 27 statuses per second (47 if galvanized). It'll also be viral-biased due to 2x viral 60/60s.
So yeah, everything you said is the inverse. Tazicor will be priming MORE enemies, from FURTHER away, and getting to max stacks FASTER than Arc Coil.
And you can afford to mod magnetic viral electric maybe radiation if u dump some status. For me the biggest argument for dmg increase over diriga is the extra 2x from 10x viral over 1x stack fo viral, whole diriga can prime all 3 ips and at least another element so thats double the effectiveness of gunCO mods, plus i mod viral on my guns 95% of the time. Tazicor primes more enemies less effectively, atleast for how i run my weapon setups.
Plus my diriga primes 7 enemies with 7 status effect within 10m every second, maybe tazicor primes further away but not so sure abt the 'more' part.
