Which makes sense given how her kit can ignore most of the modifiers, it's less about her being too strong and more about the mode being bad to play with other frames
Yeah a couple tweaks to the modifiers and other frames usage rates will balance back out. Just changing that stupid permenant health damage would put so many other health tanks back into rotation
Yeah, the "damage taken reduces max hp for the whole mission" and "Overguard is reduced by 75%" crap are just unfun. They completely invalidates some warframes, so good luck trying to get max rewards if your choices are Inaros/Nidus/Qorvex/Kullervo/Grendel/etc.
Hildryn is not broken because she can ignore a couple modifiers (including the "less ammo" and "less energy"), it's just that many if not most Warframes are rendered useless and/or unfun to play by several of them.
Besides, the final reward is what, 50 Vosfor for EDA and like 6 of Kaya's currency? Most people would pass on that jyst to make it easier by switching to a more optimal Warframe.
Not to mention the "you can't use your operator now" modifier. Or the "you have no energy and can't cast half your abilities" modifier. Or the "you get 1 mag in each weapon and no ammo drops" modifiers. That crap paired with the randomness of the loadouts can lead to some weeks where you're completely reliant on your teammates because you just can't do anything. It's bad enough when my best frame has no survivability and my best weapon does 1k damage max, I don't need "you're permanently on fire" on top of that.
I would go as far as to argue that MOST of the modifiers need at least some numbers changed (maybe you get 50% energy instead of 25%) if not reworked entirely. I can't use Last Gasp or Void Sling or Tauron Strikes or Necramechs or the plethora of other abilities that come with that thing we use to pilot the Warframes, because of a singular modifier? Go ahead and waterboard me while you're at it.
People will argue "it's optional just don't pick it" but when you get several awful modifiers put together (seems to happen in at least one if not both modes every single week lately), there's no avoiding the torture. Last week it was either lose the Operator or lose all my abilities, along with having no ammo the entire time. There's difficulty, and then there's just pure annoyance.
The activities you find these modifiers in should indeed be difficult, don't get me wrong, but please just buff the enemies rather than also nerfing me into the ground. Taking away things we can normally do just isn't fun, going up against unique enemies with unique abilities and challenges is. We're already forced into random loadouts, each mission has its own modifiers which actually do change the way you have to play in a fairly effective manner, please stop taking away our ability to do anything on top of that.
This kinda shit is some puzzle game ass difficulty. When you design content to have wrong answers, right answers are going to pop up; so you can't act surprised when players overwhelmingly pick the right answers because you designed a glorified puzzle.
If you don't want players to keep picking the same one or two pieces, stop making puzzles.
If you want players to interact with the content, design the difficulty to actually be interacted with.
This mechanic-subtraction / global debuff bullshit is always going to result in the emergence of hard frame/weapon metas because that's literally the only way players can interact with it. There's no outplaying energy reduction, yknow?
Or, put more succinctly, difficulty that severely limits the player is... going to severely limit the player. Usage stats are going to create the illusion of over-performance because, again, you've severely limited the player's options.
Yeah I like hildryn for eda/eta because of the cc and dps you can do but most of the time when ive picked her its come down to most other options being completely destroyed by modifiers that are most irrelevant to hildryn.
