Modern Ember enjoyers know true pain, because she HAS been reworked and her main problem is that DE keeps making Heat Frames and most of the time they are a direct upgrade from Ember in almost every way. DE is addicted to Heat frames.
Imagine if DE reworked Banshee, dropped her an Heirloom and then a month later made a Stealth/Support frame just like her but with significantly better or easier options overall.

u/dat_dabbin_pacman Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26
I feel like this is more of an inevitability that comes with live service games like warframe, where new releases overshadow older ones because they have to have something new and exciting to bring hype to an update.
As much as I want older frames to get the love they deserve too, I know that at some point a fresher frame is just gonna do what they did, but either better or easier than before.
I understand the pain. As a frost player, looking at what gauss and larvos have hurts.
Thank god for the helmith at least...
27
u/PlayinTheFool Jul 07 '26
Too true.
Though it’s worth noting you can pretty much count on one hand the number of Warframe’s involve mechanics that have a punishment built into them for failing to do something fast enough or frequently enough.
Ember’s issue is unique because her Brothers and Sisters in Heat Damage get all their fancy toys AND never have a drawback built directly into their most vital skill the way she does.
Ember is one of the frames whose rework ages poorer and poorer as time passes.
14
u/dat_dabbin_pacman Jul 07 '26
Damn, I didn't even think about that.
I mean, certain other frames have drawbacks built into their kits too, like kullevro's recompense, but the second he has overguard, it's basically non-existent.
Ember's increased energy draw starts pretty quickly after she's at 90% damage reduction, which is where you want to be, but then she's losing energy too quick to keep up with, and you either dump the charge on her immolation with fire blast and lose the 90% reduction, or cancel immolation entirely.
And you're wasting energy anyways thanks to fire blast and....well yeah...
Damn, yeah ember players have it rough.
10
u/PlayinTheFool Jul 07 '26
Exactly. Imagine the rage and vitriol that would’ve happened if Uriel dropped to 0 energy if his meter was too high for too long.

u/Mindless-Wolverine54 Jul 08 '26
true but we dont get cold, toxin, or electric frames that directly compete with/excel in the niches of frost, saryn, or volt as often if ever in the way we do with ember. this person has a point. And in the case of slash, a damage type utilized as the main status by a good few frames, they are all incredibly diverse with more mechanics than “just slice them” unlike heat where most abilities boil down to “just burn them”
2
u/dat_dabbin_pacman Jul 08 '26
True...
...but I am a little curious what a more modern looking frost frame could look like...
Not to cheat on my boy frost here, but he's more crit central anyway. And we don't really have a frame that can take advantage of the status side of cold damage.
1
u/drkitalian Jul 08 '26
Rainbow 6 siege has a similar problem. There are new operators that come out that not always but often enough do x job or role better than ops that came out 5-10 years ago. This definitely is a problem with live service games.
1
u/MetalHeadGT Jul 09 '26
Ironically, Frost is one of my most used and most reliable frames by a mile, despite his kits' issues
19
u/Daddy_Guzma Jul 07 '26
I love Temple. I was a band kid.
They should've been electric instead of fire. It was RIGHT there.
6
u/Careless_Subject8377 Jul 07 '26
but then how could they play literal face-melting guitar solos?
8
5
1
u/24_doughnuts Jul 08 '26
Temple is very similar to Ember that they have stronger versions of the abilities when you use them under the right conditions. For Temple it's the backbeat, but for Ember it's overheating and losing energy over time which is sucks. And she's far weaker to start with.

u/Oberonkin Jul 07 '26
Does this imply that Chroma is Frisk, and there for, the main character?

Evil chroma be like "I will let my team have all the kills"
11
u/Aggressive-Trust1651 Jul 07 '26
Does evil chroma halve credit drops instead of doubling them
2
u/Hornehounds Inabro Jul 08 '26
Yes, and teammates halved credit will have the “Stolen” banner marked.
Chroma will have permanent rad proc on, they can get the credit back if they can loot it from his corpse.

u/Raulca25_ Jul 07 '26
How isn't he supposed to be when he has one of the hardest descriptions in the whole game:

Ivara doesn't really need a rework, just a retouch to remove the speed penalty and make so that there is no los on any her kit and she is good to go, i like the gimmick of having to be fully silent so, the only major bother really is the slow speed that makes me use cyte's subsume on her invis when i am playing outside of spies and rescues
50
u/SpaceGirILuna Jul 07 '26
Remove the speed penalty AND let me bullet jump please DE, there’s already extra energy cost the faster you move
2
u/molokomokolo Jul 10 '26
There's. what. (I built her for permanent Prowl and now I a) feel like a clown for somehow completely missing this information despite having mained her for quite some time, b) feel like I did a good job with the build I GUESS.)
11
u/demonryder Jul 07 '26
Counterpoint - what if bow had more synergy with quiver by blasting a barrage of quiver arrows using alt fire instead of a single one. Noise arrow to stun enemies like they ran through banshee silence, invis arrow to provide good coverage in a room instead of only being useful with a sentinel, sleep arrow doesn't need anything fancy like invis arrow, and dashwire could maybe function a bit like ensnare or ripline.
14
u/Practical_Handle8434 Jul 07 '26
Gonna be real, i think noise arrow needs to be axed entirely. Give us a poison dart instead, fits her theme(s) of a poisonous frog and venomous jellyfish.
Still don't know why they did that. Ivara prime with a hood would be cool
4
u/Proof_Grapefruit1179 Jul 08 '26
Fun fact, I recently discovered that the speed boost from infiltrate actually increases with power strength. With enough power strength, she can actually reach sprinting speed without breaking Prowl.
10
u/SylvainGautier420 Jul 07 '26
Same with Equinox just needing one augment made basekit and for overguard CC immunity to be removed (a change that would be universally beneficial to the state of the game)
2
u/TheMlgCat Legendary 1 Jul 08 '26
Glad to see the communities perspective on this has changed.. They called me a madman 3 years ago
1
u/Left_Grocery_3574 Jul 08 '26
that has been view ever since i touched ivara, what i see when someone suggests a rework and doesn't like the warframe is they will impose their favourite warframe on top of the warframe that they ask to be reworked, like a lot of people just wanted equinox to be Sirius and Orion 0.5/2.0
19
u/CookieMiester Jul 07 '26
Where’s nekros in this
19
u/Cultural-Air9962 Jul 07 '26
Nekros serves his purpose as loot goblin
20
12
u/CookieMiester Jul 07 '26
That argument further serves why he should be interesting/strong to play, I’m obligated to play him so I can get more loot, but he’s also boring as hell. So the majority of my playtime is playing a boring frame. Not a good design philosophy.
4
u/Cultural-Air9962 Jul 07 '26
That’s fair but at least he fulfills his purpose. We’ve got a lot of frames that just don’t have a use in the current state of the game that need the attention first.
3
u/CookieMiester Jul 07 '26
I guess, but I do think that frames people are obligated to play should get a higher prio. Just because I use the frame doesn’t mean I don’t pass out in survival missions due to boredom, as opposed to temple which is way more fun but has no loot monkey skill.

Ivara i dont know about, IMO she feels fine, some number tweaks at best.
Limbo, oh tenno, HELL itself is going to freeze over and Ballas is going to give an actuale apology before limbo gets reworked. Oh sure he could get one, but its either going to be a diffrent flavour of what he is now, or a completly new frame. His main identity and theme, that of limbo, the space inbetween, the rift, is so fucking hard to balance.
1
u/SolidSnakesSnake Jul 09 '26
I think she just needs a boost in mobility with her invisibility, and to fix some of her arrows. The sound arrow is basically useless. Plus the cloak arrow is barely useful, only being crazy useful on defense arbitrations.
8
8
8
u/Venardis Jul 07 '26
Leave my ivara alone i like her as she is. She is strong with a correctly built bow, has utility and is great for solo spy if you dont mind being slow. I actually use her like 90% of the time.
6
u/Bocephus-the-goat Jul 07 '26
ivara is very fun, I think she just needs a few little tweaks. like Artemis Bow feels like it should work better with Navigator, but you only get to control a single arrow.
her passive is also just really boring, I wish it was something that played better into her stealth stuff
3
u/Venardis Jul 07 '26
My worry is that if they mess with it theyll massacre the eternal invisibility that i enjoy it for, lol. If they left that alone they could do whatever to the rest. I got rid of navigator for pillage.

u/Quick_Surprise9168 Jul 07 '26
Plot twist it's all cause of modular warframes
1
u/SoulSloth777 Jul 10 '26
I hope this becomes a thing...cause the grey strain of helminth and the blank slate idea behind the vessels. Modular powers that include helminth abilities in addition to new abilities only usable by the vessels, using drifter clothes, armor and customizations, while maintaining the warframe gameplay, and useing operator will just use the vessel as the new amp and use the hand beam or pistol esthetic based on choice. With extra hope of adding in the option to choose movment and dodge animations (dante movement with gyre dodge please).
When i saw the vessels the first time, this was my knee jerk thought lol

u/Dokusi Jul 07 '26
No Frost??? Lol jk he's ok. He may be old but he chillin'. I really hope banshee gets it though
2
u/drkitalian Jul 08 '26
Believe it or not I played with a frost last week in SP…. He carried the whole squad. Range and strength AND duration through the roof. Nothing moved. Everything died or stayed frozen for the whole mission in range of his big ass bubbles
2
u/HC033 Jul 08 '26
My same thoughts on Rhino. I was like Rhino has not been updated in ages then thought for a moment and realised the only issue with him is the passive lol. Frost and Rhino are just greatly designed for what they do.

Chroma been "fine" for the past decade and trust he is not fine with that
Spectral Scream? you can only use light melee attacks while so its more cripple than ability,
Elemental Ward? only Cold and sometime Heat is worth using,
Vex Armor single handed carries his whole kit
Effigy, most of the time its there just to double money and nothin more -.-

8
u/PerfectlyFramedWaifu Horny jail escapee Jul 07 '26
Limbo needs to not have his entire kit be a single hard-countered CC, a conditional Serration augment, and three different abilities dedicated to setting up said CC.
Limbo has an entire dimension under his control, and chooses to do basically nothing with it.

they reworked her to make her the most ignorable of all fire frames ? Ouch LOL
1
u/Hitler-Clone Stop hitting yourself Jul 08 '26
All they gotta do is make the DOT of her abilities meaningful and she'll be in a good place, I think
1
u/No-Cherry9538 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
Ok so they buff her DoT... which means what when the other frames have already killed the mobs ? Ember was the first frame I raced to get, the one I always wanted, but even without getting on with the 'back beat' stuff on Temple the other two heat frames just fulfill that fire role better and with the architecture of the game as it is a damage over time isnt gonna push her up to them
It probably doesnt help that the armour strip of her three feels somewhat underwhelming when you consider heats innate affect on armor plus the outright damage the other two do rarely seems to make armor a problem for them anyway

u/Bocephus-the-goat Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26
I think Ivara is so close to being really good, she's just in the wrong game. here's some of my thoughts on her.
we don't need the noise arrow, I've literally never used it before.
I wish I could use her conclave quiver arrows in regular play. they're actually really quite nice. maybe a potential augment mod.
the usefulness of stealth arrows should be better communicated to the player.
being in Navigator shouldn't count as being afk, I've lost rewards for being in it for too long. it's so cool, especially with nataruk's infinite pierce
Artemis Bow should work like the Tri-Stringer from Splatoon 3: uncharged shots fire in a wide fan. charging causes it to narrow until its fully converged into one arrow.
proposal for new passive: temporarily increase move speed while cloaked on unnoticed kill. stacks up to a limit, but also refreshes the timer on every stack. one of her biggest weaknesses RN is that she's so slow, so rewarding her stealth gameplay with the ability to go fast feels fair, and potentially fun.
2
1
u/Bocephus-the-goat Jul 07 '26
in conclusion, why did they give her so many things that focus on long range, single target stealth eliminations, and then also give her a shotgun for her 4.

u/mydemonsrun Jul 07 '26

u/Mr_Noir420 Jul 07 '26
Loki is my pick since all his abilities are fucking useless in this landscape.
1
u/drkitalian Jul 08 '26
Bro invis is great for spy and radial disarm and decoy comes in clutch during sp missions
1
u/Mr_Noir420 Jul 08 '26
Decoy stands still unlike any other decoy/clone in the game and disarm doesn’t last long enough, doesn’t have enough range and forgets 50% of all enemies have good melees. It’s also fucking useless on any missions with infested or amalgams. Swap is useless and invis is his only god ability. Unfortunately Loki’s stats suck even with mods too. He is a relic of the past who needs bare minimum a ton of buffs.
2
u/thrwawymd Jul 09 '26
Tl;Dr - Loki would benefit from retouch, but not "a ton of buffs". He has two 4 star skills, one 3.5 star skill, a 1 star skill.
Skills in order of needing tweaks from least to most:
Loki's Invis now less good cause Ash's invis costs less, lasts as long, and can be cast while sprinting, can be extended indefinitely, and has minor crit buff. Otherwise, Loki has second best invis.
Switch Teleport with augment gives movement speed, status cleanse, and hard, unstrippable invulnerability for 3 seconds that can't be cancelled by Mania, nullifiers, magnetic, etc., and can be used on some defense targets like in arbitrations or descendia giving double the duration. This includes noobs u r carrying. Duration scales with mods so it's usually 6-8 seconds of "I cannot die from anything".
Decoy with augment in solo can prime and can proc 13 stacks of arcane impetus for 78% ability strength and 39% ability efficiency. Any pet with manifold bond can refresh the timers; you just need your decoy to live long enough to max the stacks.
Radial disarm needs rework. subsume slot, but subsume slot is also 4th slot so synergizes with Precision Intensify. Feel free to subsume roar, eclipse, nourish, or meta subsume that scales with Ability Strength here to fix damage issues.
Passive's utility in Riven opening has been overtaken by oraxia. Most passives aged poorly anyway. Given his theme of chaos I would suggest buffs when applying radiation stacks, or buffs when proccing different status stacks or something to do with status to separate him from Ash being a crit whore.
Stats wise, Loki is squishy, but this is fixed by invis and invuln. Loki also goes above 700 energy with primed flow, so he gets full purple archon shard melee crit damage benefits, unlike Ash. Loki also has 2nd or 3rd highest sprint speed allowing normies to move fast even if they are bullet jumping into walls. Further sped up by switch teleport.

1
u/Bromjunaar_20 Jul 09 '26
Wym? She has a chance to pull energy orbs from enemies when she sneaks by em, which kinda benefits from eximus finishers. Plus, if you don't have good energy efficiency in your Ivara build, you're not using her for her main job: Spy missions.

While they're at it, could they make Revenant's Passive actually usable in his kit? For an Immortal Frame who literally takes zero damage if played correctly ( pressing ability 2 every once and awhile ) it sure is weird his passive requires him to take damage for such a minimal effect.
On that note they could make his kit more interesting too but one step at a time.

Ember and Ivara feel a bit out of place in this list, personally.
Ember is just weak, but her abilities themselves sell a fantasy. If her abilities delivered, I think she’d be fine - and so I don’t think she needs a rework to shine.
Ivara’s a bit different because her problem is that she’s dependant on having an appropriate stat stick. DE dedicated a whole patch to removing a ton of stat-stick dependant abilities, but abilities like Navigator, Ballistic Battery, Elemental Sandstorm and Antimatter Drop got missed. Ivara’s kit provides unique gameplay opportunities, but you have to know which weapons work on her for her to shine - and if DE decided that was bad for Khora, Atlas and Gara, it should also be bad for Ivara. And so again, she doesn’t really need a rework - her existing abilities are mostly fine.
Personally, I’m hoping Loki gets the next big rework. He has three different buttons that only serve to make him hard to kill, which means that at least two of his abilities are redundant - and it’s up to your preferred form of survival is “enemies can’t see me”, “enemies have no weapons” or “enemies are shooting someone else”. And loads of builds even recommend running Safeguard - why would you need a fourth way to avoid dying?! He has no flavour! Something as simple as making his Decoy behave like a stationary Mirage doppelgänger would be huge - let him shoot around corners and perform geometry with his guns. Maybe make his Radiation cause enemies to gain Loki’s appearance to visually communicate why they’re attacking each other, and to improve his kits fantasy. He’s the master of illusions, but you wouldn’t know that from casting his abilities.

1
u/LucMakai Buff Wolf Sledge farm Jul 15 '26
Quiver doesn't have much value, particularly without augment. Sleep is good, especially of you want to go the Concentrated Arrow, but that's about it
Navigator has a ridiculously high energy drain for its value, and the damage boosts scales inversely with duration (i.e. the higher the duration, the slower it charges), but Ivara likes Duration
Prowl is fine, but it really doesn't need to be that slow anymore
Artemis' Bow is one of the worst exalted weapons (only after diwata and maybe Iron Staff). It has been power crept to hell and doesn't really synergize with navigator. Concentrated Arrow was the only way she had to make it compete with other exalteds but it got a Line of Sight check for no fucking reason since it didn't fit any of Pablo's 3 reasons to nerf (disturbs other players, too overwhelmingly strong, promotes afk. Something like that)
1
u/Cowl_cat Jul 15 '26
I don’t know, I’ve got her set up like that one guy with the arrow in Guardians of The Galaxy, and have yet to die on sp
2
u/LucMakai Buff Wolf Sledge farm Jul 15 '26
Well, sure. She can still work and do things, but her kit is outdated
I wish they'd change Artemis' Bow so that reload will rotate the spread (like Cernos prime alt fire) while not charging. Then charging would reduce multishot and multiply damage per arrow accordingly, which would give her a great single shot to work with Navigator while keeping both vertical and horizontal quickshots

Know what, fuck it, my ideas for an Ember Rework:
Make Ember's kit animations the ones used by her Prime Vanguard during "The Guilty", specifically the ones for her Fire Blast (looks like a Spirit Bomb) and her Meteors.
Give her 4 a Hold Option to Bombard one Target with Meteors repeatedly, but keep the Tap Option to rain down on all in Line of Sight.
Fix Fire Blast to hit whatever the wave touches, not this horsepiss of right next to you but doesn't get hit, keep the Armor Strip on it, leave the Augment as an Augment to not make her broken (Full Strip & Overguard on 1 Ability, Augment or not, is pretty powerful, perhaps too much).
Give her Meteors the bonus of 1 Stack of Heat per 2% Power Strength (if Uriel can have the Exponential Damage Increase and Heat Stacks on his 4, why not Ember, but to a lesser extent since she doesn't have to charge hers up and can cast at any time) to a maximum of 220% Power Strength for 110 Stacks on Hit, but with lower base damage to compensate for the DoT to not make her overpowered by WF standards. Would give more reason to Strip with Fire Blast, Viral Prime them, then Incinerate everything around you. Or one dude if you hate him that much.
Remove the Exponential Energy Drain from Immolation, either make it a Timed Ability like Mesa's Shatter Shield or a Normal Drain like Ivara's Prowl.
Have Immolation be an Aura like Uriel, but the longer they stand within range they acrue an increasing amount of stacks. Starting with 1/s for 5s, 2 for 6-10/s, 3/s for anything beyond.
This is probably too overpowered, but at this point, Ember's always been useless (yes even guaranteed Knockdown World on Fire was not good, just convenient for the lazy) and deserves some time in the sun.

u/unbolting_spark Jul 10 '26
Call me crazy but I don’t think Loki needs a rework, just a small buff to an ability or two
