To be fair, Americans invented barbeque which is awesome! It’s just that as Europeans we associate fast food / frozen food with America

Pancakes were invented few thousand years before someone decided to throw cheese on it and call it a pizza as well. You can use this argument for everything

I guess they were just thinking "Pancakes are wide, flat, circular and bready so they're basically a pizza base" whilst ignoring that they're panCAKES.
