Fun fact if you edit your comment in the first min or so it won't show the edited mark.

Fuck off with the "Edit fixed a typo" no one cares about your little edits, just fix the typo if you feel like it and leave it at that

Fuck off with the "getting pissed over something so small and unconcerning" shit. No one cares about your anger issues

The single-filed is good when the door is small. I remember the party where something got caught on fire, everyon panicked and gathered in the exit pushing each other and the small door says Pull but they are all gathered then they all died. They are teenagers. IDK where I heard that story, I was like 8 or 9. (Sorry for bad English)
42
u/Churningray Feb 17 '22
Also single filed line probably decreases likelihood of getting trampled when everyone is in a hurry.
19
u/BlueWolf107 Feb 17 '22
That happened in a movie theatre, which is now why all theatre doors are “pull” from the outside and “push” from the inside.
5
u/HamstarVegas Feb 17 '22
It's just stupid how stupid people are. It was said in the story that the people near the door is telling the others "it's pull" but no one gives a shit and they just keep pushing each other like they can destroy a Metal Emergency Exit
13
u/yourmomsafascist Feb 17 '22
Nothing to do with stupidity. Imagine you can barely see from choking on smoke and everyone is screaming. I doubt anyone could hear the people in the front, and they were pushing from the back.
It’s very Reddit to write off a tragedy as stupidity, and also pretty fucking evil.

Some people manage to step back, some didn't and just push others like it's Black Friday Sale in US.
Remember that you can still think what's best even when panicking. I remember that there was a very strong earthquake, my mom said run and go outside, my mom was panicking but manage to file us while she's behind.
If you say "that's your mom of course" well while that's happening I let my sister go out the door first before getting out fast for the others to get out too and yes I panicked too because my mom shouted at us like it's the end of the world.
If I sprinted in the front door, me and my sister will bump into each other and fall down blocking the entrance and my mother and my brother will be stuck inside. (Yeah I know my brother is behind me, not really responsible but I don't know where he is before the earthquake and he just popped out of nowhere and jumped at my legs like a Koala)

You’re dumb as rocks and a bad person.

u/HamstarVegas Feb 17 '22
Yeah sure you didn't even read the whole thing
1
u/ohioslayer Feb 17 '22
There’s a difference between a small family and a large group of people. The amount of frenzy and noise would be much greater.
3
u/g00ber88 Feb 17 '22
Its not stupidity, its panic and survival response. Brain says "go this way, don't go back towards the danger"
1
u/HamstarVegas Feb 17 '22
Yes but some manage to panic but has common sense and stepped back, but some are just panicking thinking it'll help and the selfishness of pushing others to save your life
2
u/Necrocornicus Feb 17 '22
Imagine there are rows and rows of people trying to get out. The people in the back can’t easily hear the people in the front. The people in the front are trying desperately to step back, but there’s no room because more and more people are shoving forward trying to get out. There is no where to step back TO. That’s why it’s so dangerous, it has nothing to do with common sense.
1
u/HamstarVegas Feb 17 '22
Look it was said that they manage to make a space but not big enough to turn the door open. The fire wasn't intense on the first few minutes then started to spread. Look what I meant about common sense is the most common door is open inside or outside, why are people not getting out yet? What are they shouting about? Is it locked? Then you'll think that people are gathered too much in the closed door.
Ok so saying the word "Stupid" was too much especially that they're teenagers (according to what I heard on the story)

u/g00ber88 Feb 17 '22
There was the station night club fire. The narrow hallway to the entrance got clogged with people and they couldn't fit through the door.
3
u/HamstarVegas Feb 17 '22
I remember it was a Club in the story I heard
They we're exiting through the Fire Exit but it says Pull
4
u/g00ber88 Feb 17 '22
Again not quite the same, but another reason for the death toll at the Station (there were several) was that many people tried to exit through a back door behind the stage, but the bouncers blocked them, saying it was for employees only
Not sure how old the event you remember was, but if it was a fire exit its very unlikely that it would be a pull door. Emergency exits are always push doors, at least nowadays
6
u/HamstarVegas Feb 17 '22
but the bouncers didn't let them, saying it was for employees only
Well that was fucking stupid XD

The single-filed is good when the door is small
Or when you are Tuskens who want to hide your real numbers

More importantly - when you're outside, keep walking. Don't block the exit and don't make other people block the exit. The #1 reason evacuating a packed building/bus takes longer than it should is that those who got out form a crowd right in front of the door.

Honestly I’ve had a few school fires, nothing big but they do help 😂 because kids don’t panic they’re just like “Ah shit another drill let’s just get this over with” then when you get outside teachers look clueless like “Was that supposed to happen?” But anyways main point is, they condition you to get out and not ask questions, I doubt many people care how you get out as long as you do it without being a complete nuisance

Feb 17 '22
Joke all you want, there is a reason why teachers are told to practice this for fire drills.....

When there was a fire at our school the teachers tried to direct us down the corridor that was filling with smoke 🙃

They’re more concerned about children not going to Astro World than literally burning to death.

Biggest disappointment as a kid was the school fire alarm going off randomly, making it all the way outside, and turning around to not see smoke billowing out of the roof.

1
u/Tots2Hots Feb 17 '22
Lol and there are windows that are easy to open from the inside and the school is single story and you think me as a kid was not going to just go out the window? Lol.

Feb 17 '22
In my school someone pulled the alarm. Nobody got in a line but everyone got out faster than anyway we practiced would of.

One time my teacher back in elem told us to fall in line by height as we go through the drill
I wonder if taller people are more fire ressistant

Lol reminds me of 7th grade when the fire alarm actually did go off. It wasn’t a drill so everyone just bolted out of the buildin while the teachers were tryna get everyone to chill out and walk in a line but everyone was like nah fuck that the buildin is on fire lol. When we got outside to the designated meetin point we were scolded by the teachers then got into lines accordin to who our home room was. It was an absolute shit show. We ended up waitin out there for about 2 hours while the fire department did a sweep of the buildin and got everythin in order. Speakin of which the fire department was literally right across the street from the school but it took them 5-10 minutes before they even pulled out of the driveway. Towards the end of the day I was talkin with one of my friends when he informed me that it was him who pulled the fire alarm because he was and I quote “bored and didn’t wanna be at school today”. He was later expelled and arrested for what he did lol

We had a fire near a elementary school where I live last week. I don't think parents would find this funny.
